I bought a property that was under contract with J &J. I compared their service to another provider and found them very competitive. Also, it was easy to transfer the service over. I was so impressed I also covered another property for termite protection. So far so good. Customer service has been responsive and courteous. A technician forgot to turn off my water hose after a service. The office was apologetic for the oversight (I had footage), not the worse thing that could happen. read more

I kind of dread when the annual Sentricon termite fee comes in the mail from J&J, so I asked Devontai if I could walk with him to see what he looks for during inspection. He was very open to it and pulled one of my baits up to show me how much it was chewed up and what the new bait he was putting in looked like. I was a customer for 15 years and while the service technicians are very good, the company has increased their prices twice in the last year without any increase in service and, without proper customer notification. I have always paid them automatically through my bank and I have rarely had any issues, with the exception of when they increased their fees from $99.00 to $106.00 and I had to make changes in their quarterly draft from my bank. They no longer call their customers, opting instead to use an automated robocall that informs you that there's a problem with your account, which is extremely annoying especially when you're given the option to speak with a representative. They just turned a bank verified payment over to a collection agency which was the last straw with J&J! I predict that they will continue to lose customers until they change this updated business model. read more

Terrible communication. No one calls you back. No one shows up to the appointments. I took off multiple times for flea control after an animal died under the house and was stood up many many times. When we finally did get treatment, they had to come 4x with no improvement. Had to do use another company at the end of it all who did it in one or two treatments. read more

I must've waited on the phone with their funny cajun jingle for 4 minutes with no answer. 11:45AM on a weekday and no answer. I even selected the prompt #1 to state I was a new customer. For routine services, they schedule you automatically according to their own plan. Fine - but if you want to KNOW when you're scheduled for, you have to call each time - but not TOO far ahead. You just have to be a good guesser when to call. Otherwise, wait for an automated system to randomly call you the night before the mysterious appointment date, and you can accept or decline the appointment that you didn't know about until that moment, and then you have to call back to reschedule if the time doesn't work. So if you want to change an upcoming service date ahead of time, you simply can't (They just told me this on the phone). You have to wait until the mysterious day before your appointment so that you can get the automated call, then decline it, then call back when they're open to reschedule (they're not open when you get the message, which is always at 6pm) - but by then, the open appointments are weeks away. It has been like this for years and I asked if there were any other options for more reasonable or less time consuming appointment scheduling, they said no. So if you want a tedious and frustrating chore to constantly re-perform in your life, they're the company for you. read more

I have been Having this pest control company for years. However just recently I have had problems with them not showing up on days they promised. I even had my friend sign up a couple of years ago for pest and termites. We would always arrange our two appointments on same day since we are two blocks from each other. Trying to get in connect with this office is a joke now. I am still waiting for a Supervisor to return my phone call from the beginning of this week. So is my friend. We were told that technician showed up at our homes on Tuesday May 23rd 2023. That is not true. The girl said well he did. I said he did not. I was home all day and I have 6 cameras around my home. A J and J truck did not even drive down my street. I copied pictures from that day to prove no one showed up. Now the supervisor is supposed to call myself and my friend. We wanted to give them the chance to explain. So disappointed. read more

J&J Bought out Beasley pest control in Houma La. J&J talked me into renewing my termite contract with them for $1,200. J&J offered one year interest free financing with Green Sky. Green Sky sent me a questionnaire asking me if the job was complete. I answered honestly and said NO ! The problem is that J& J wants their money before the job starts and Green Sky does not want to put up the money until the job is complete. So, J&J wants to force their customers to LIE ! This is a lack of integrity. I explained to J&J that this is wrong and they accepted no responsibility for the integrity issues. J&J said if I don't pay them this month they will pull out the bait traps. This was rude and unacceptable. This was unnecessary - I have a perfect credit score .... I PAY MY BILLS !!! Now I have a bill from J&J for $1,200 and a bill from Green Sky for $1,200. I do not recommend J&J They need to make an agreement with Green Sky that does not make people LIE ! read more

Apparently, Derrick felt the need to tell her " he doesn't deal with women because they're beneath him, and to call her husband so he can put her in her place!" No, "hello, thank you for calling" or anything like that. It felt like I was talking to someone at the DMV. Another potential customer put off by poor customer service. My advice is go elsewhere. It is nearly impossible to contact this company & the office customer service is horrendous! Please answer the phone, call back, and get rid of the receptionist/phone answer woman! Over the years it has been the same. The service techs that come to my house get an A+. They have been conscientious, professional, genuinely friendly, and hard working, pulling all the bait stations for inspection & replacement if necessary, answering my questions, etc... However, if you call J&J there is an endless automated phone message that does not offer what I need (To talk to someone), and it often eventually just hangs up on me. Sometimes it will go to 'Leave a Message' but no one calls back. On the 1 in 20 chance the woman answers the phone she is brusque, unhelpful, and will not allow you to talk to anyone else. The preverbal straw was when someone called me, when I was away from home, and left a voicemail saying that they had tried to contact me 'numerous times' (NOT TRUE! - I have both voice mail & caller ID on both my home & cell phones.) and were cancelling my contract for non-payment! If they would answer the phone I will pay my bill. ~ This could all be avoided if they hire a competent receptionist. read more

Did not respect their contract at all. Service tech was unreliable and did not show up at scheduled times and would appear without notice at other times. Our concerns were brushed off by the manager. We discussed with J&J (manager AND service tech) at length the importance of coming during scheduled hours while we were out of town and had a house sitter. Both the manager and service tech told us they understood. No surprise, no call no show both dates. Called again after we got back and after a discussion with another manager (who was rude and unhelpful) were told to expect a call back. Two days ago and we're still waiting. Complete waste of time and money. We'd be better off doing the job ourselves. Paid $400 for them to set a few traps and that's it. Edit: Raising my rating because the owner immediately reached out to us to make things right. While we decided to close our contract, we were really impressed with his professional and quick response. If only the local office had been this responsive! read more

This company is just plain unprofessional. Twice I was automatically charged for treatment that simply did not take place. I work from home, I have a Ring camera with motion alarm. The last time they said they came out was a 6:40 a.m. Well I was outside with my dog at 6:40 a.m. and no one was there. I checked my Ring and no one came. This happened once before when the time they said they treated the house was during a torrential rain. And both times no one knocked or called to do the inside. Severel months ago, I took the initiative to hire a Pest Control Professional to assist me with a mice problem I had in my attic from rising water during a storm. As a result, J & J Exterminating was hired after a consultation. Days following the consultation, a technician arrived, placed traps in my attic, around the other perimeter of my residence, etc. As the months went by technicians would come out to service my residence but never attempted coming inside to check, service or clean up any decomposed mice that may have died as a result of the treatment provided months earlier. Finally, after months later and no one from J & J Exterminating making an attempt to service the interior of my home, I decided to call and schedule an appointment to have the traps inside serviced. The appointment time I was given as a result was today, Wednesday 5/10/23, between 8 am and 11 am. To be sure I did not miss the appointment, I waited patiently. 8am, 9am, 10am, and 11am went by. No call, no show. At approximately 11:15am I decided to call the office just to get an idea when the technician was arriving because, as a 29yr veteran police officer, I had to get to work. A lovely young lady answered the call, and I proceeded to explain my discontent. The young lady trying her best to be helpful in the matter called the technician to see what time he was possibly going to arrive. Instead of my feeling better about the situation, it angered me even more because the technician told a BOLD FACE LIE! He informed the lovely young lady that he arrived at my home, ringing the doorbell, but received no answer. # 1. Nobody came to my home and rang my doorbell. #2. Even if he did ring the bell receiving no answer, why did he not call the cell number attached to the account. #3. I was not asleep because I was working from my phone in the kitchen. #4. Immediately, I checked my doorbell, and it works very well. #5. I have surveillance/security cameras completely surrounding my home, and I went back to check them. At no point did anyone or any vehicle approached my residence or front door. Ultimately, I wish the best to J & J Exterminating, but I will never recommend this company to anyone. As a result, we have to hire another exterminating company to finish the job and mess J & J Exterminating started. Basically, it's a waste of hard earned money and time. read more

I should not be handling pests on top of paying for garbage services. After experiencing a bad termite infestation caused by a neglectful "liquid spray" company, I contacted J&J Exterminating. Their representative, Greg Ferro, came to my house and spent an hour looking at everything and explaining how their termite baiting system works and what they could do to protect my house. I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism and decided that my home was worth their top notch protection system.
