Bluegrass Concrete Solutions - Concrete Driveways in Lexington

    Bluegrass Concrete Solutions

BLUEGRASS CONCRETE SOLUTIONS - JASON LEE BEWARE!!…read more Wish someone had warned me. I contracted with Jason Lee, Owner of Bluegrass Concrete Solutions to create a colored stamped concrete parking pad with walkway access to a new large screen room & extensive decking the width of the back of my house. House is in Berea. Contract signed 12/15/23 with 50% upfront cash payment. Balance due upon job completion. Excavation began late December 2023. Concrete was poured 2/19/24 into the wee hours of 2/20/24. Coloring & stamping were done after dark. Jason had represented workers as employees but they were one skilled independent contractor, his college age son & son's friend. Jason came by but did not stay. It is now 4/16/24. A pile of broken cement 5' X 12' remains piled in my front yard where Jason authorized it dumped without my knowledge or consent. Both Jason & the pumper who dumped it agree it is Jason's responsibility to haul away. Construction materials are strewn about my front, side & back yards - rebar & sticks pounded into the ground, lumber scattered like pick-up sticks, piles of building & excavating rubbish, lots of areas with overflow cement where grass needs to be planted. Cement is splattered on the newly installed siding surround of the new decks, completed days before Jason's arrival. Jason destroyed the storm drainage system which now rests in heaps in the backyard. The deck's new water mitigation system fed into that. Both the part attached to the drain spout & the end where my property drops off were clearly visible. After consulting with several contractors, it recently became apparent that the fix probably involves removing or tunneling under the cement which is heavy duty & 4" thick. The area is tight for working. Otherwise my basement may flood, especially later as the torn-off plastic pipe collapses.. A large tree has exposed roots & dirt heaped on it from excavation. The concrete has not been power washed or sealed. The concrete is very pale & sparsely colored. I had selected vibrant colors like my natural flagstone. Not even close. Jason went running off - literally - when I showed him why the storm drain needed to be replaced. He hasn't responded to VM or text since. Neither has he responded to one of his suppliers. Jason rented the excavation equipment & stamping equipment. He said he'd need to rent a trailer to move cement (he hasn't). What sort of business is this? The KY Secretary of State shows a registration date 10/5/23 although Jason told me otherwise. My mistake was falling for Jason's pleas for more money. Despite the down payment, he claimed to have no money for the cement or to pay the workers. So he has all my money - $21,267 & is not making good on his promise to finish. Expensive lesson learned. I am exploring several avenues to bring him to justice while hiring other contractors to finish the job & clean up the mess he left. If by some miracle Jason finishes the job to my satisfaction, I will update this review.
