For only eleven euros you get to choose a main dish and two side dishes; I choose their raw fish mix over a bed of white rice. It looked very Japanese, but it did not taste Japanese. (I have been to a lot of Japanese restaurants and supermarkets where food is produced by Japanese people and this is my point of reference.) This visually appealing dish prepared by Nikki Sushi had fresh mint in it which in my experience is a Meditteranean touch, but not a Japanese touch. The sushi rice was lacking the sweet and sour flavor of Japanese rice vinegar. Similarly, the cucumber salad, which had a creamy dressing, was not made with Japanese mayonnaise which tends to be sweet. Instead, the cucumber salad tasted flat but fresh.
While I appreciate that the decor appears to be authentic, complete with a Samurai's chest gear, the food lacks the same authenticity.
