The doctor(Dr Mammen) has a very calming bedside manner and he's very knowledgeable about his specialty. The medical assistants have been courteous and professional. The nurses and nurse practitioners have been courteous and professional as well. However, I was disappointed that I could not accompany my husband for some of his testing, especially since one was for an echocardiogram. Since I am a retired RN, I understand that some technicians are uncomfortable with the presence of family members during tests but I think that allowances should be made for a family member to be present as long as there is no danger posed. Another issue was in scheduling an appointment. There was much miscommunication between our PCP's office and the Cardiologist's office before we could even schedule an appointment. That was troubling.

I was billed by Dr. Aman's clinic for office visit plus ECG. My surprise was that MHMG also billed my insurance for over $723 for using their "facility" and I have to pay over $340 copay. For what? I just visited Dr. Aman in his clinic but never used any MHMG's facility on that day other than the clinic was inside the MHMG bldg. This kind of hidden charge is akin to highway robbery.

These people think they are going to bring up some zombie debt from 2021 after I tried calling and calling to sort the matter? Beware of shady billing practices from these guys. I followed every instruction they sent, completed pre-check-in earlier in the day, arrived early, scanned my check-in barcode, and checked in at the desk. While sitting in the waiting room, I received a text at 4:44 PM, one minute before my appointment, saying my appointment had been cancelled. When I went back to the desk, I was told they had been trying to verify my insurance for about 20 minutes, yet no one told me there was an issue while I was sitting right there. My insurance has not changed in over a year. I had taken time off work to attend this appointment and followed every step they required, only to have it cancelled without warning while I was already in the building. When I asked to speak to the doctor, I was told the doctor had already left just minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Very disappointing experience and a complete waste of time. All I did was show up on time, with my insurance card, identification and my debit card for a co-pay.

When Pulse took over, the quality rapidly went downhill. The office moved to Kingsland & Provincial -- but they didn't even warn the patients. I found out when I went for an appointment and there was a handwritten note taped to the door. They don't even have a doctor on staff currently! (None of the staff pictured in this profile are with the practice.) They no longer do bloodwork in the office. You have to go to an outsourced lab with a bloodwork order. It is nearly impossible to speak to somebody competent to get prescription refills or to schedule an appointment. The staff lies and says that they completed tasks when they didn't, and are argumentative and rude. I'll be switching to another reputable practice soon. Sooooooo done!

He has been nothing but phenomenal. He has always taken his time with me and answered all of my questions during appointments. He's got a great bedside manner, as well. I will say the office, itself, in terms of their processes/organization is lacking. They are nice there, but I do typically have to bug them to get test results or answers to messages. But that's all worth having such a great neurologist.
