I recently went to the ALM Chevy South location to get a oil change and transmission diagnostic. It took them a week and a half to do the diagnostic to say my transmission needed to be replaced. They also quoted me nine thousand dollars for a new transmission where other shops were charging me 4750 for a new transmission plus 1000 for labor. When I declined the transmission it took them almost another 2 weeks to fix my rear shocks and brakes and the oil change. To put it into perspective. I took a 3 week vacation and the car still was not complete when I returned from vacation to where I had to get a rental car to go to work because my car was still being serviced by this location. When I finally went to pick up my car after they said it was ready I had to wait 30+ minutes as they only had one sales rep and when I got in the car the seat had a smudge and still had tags in it. No new oil change tag in the driver side and the oil life wasnt even reset on the console. 2k for rear shocks, front brakes and a oil change. I cannot recommend getting car service from this location. Ever since ALM bought out this location service has gone down. My last oil change I dropped it off in the morning and it wasnt ready until the next day. The time before that they said they are so swamped that they wont be able to even service my car that day so I ended up having to take it somewhere else. I had to give in and go to the dealership. Of course if you don't have an appointment you have to wait for them to fit you in. Even though I had went the day before and the guy told me to come back the next morning. He didn't mention I should make an appointment he just told me to come back at 7 am when they open. So I did and was told I would have to wait for a couple of hours. I was already prepared to wait. I had all of my electronics and chargers with me. Shane was the service rep helping me. He told me the problems and cost of the major issues I brought it in for. I decided not to go with one of my issues because the price was ridiculous for that little repair. He made sure I was comfortable during my wait and he kept me updated along the process. I was kind of mad when reviewing the bill because they fixed things they didn't discuss with me or ask could they fix. Per my receipt they fixed them because the technician recommended them. I wish they would have asked my permission first. So next time if I take my car back I'm going to have to have a good discussion with them before I allow them to repair anything. But my baby is fixed and back riding smoothly. And it didn't take as long as they first estimated. But if you want to go here it's best to make an appointment. And make sure y'all thoroughly discuss what needs to be fixed and what you want them to fix. read more

I got my battery changed some lady was suppose to give me the cheapest one and end not having a cheaper battery so she went on ahead and serviced my car when I could've went elsewhere for cheaper. I got my radiator changed that took a whole week. Something wrong with my left tire it was small but it took a whole week. I drove all of the way from Atlanta for a 5:00 appointment, just to be tole that they would need to keep my car for 2-3 days just to look at it! This was a complete waste of time, energy and gas! I went into the dealership the first time because there is a recall on my vehicle and it needed a software update, as well as a minor problem with my rear brake drum. I was told that they would be unable to service my car that day, and to come back a couple of days later. So I did. No problems so far. I was second in the shop, arriving at 8:50 in the morning before their service department was even open. They took my car back and after several hours of waiting, I hadn't heard any updates on my vehicle. No one had come to tell me that the computer was having trouble communicating, no one told me it would be another several hours, and my service consultant was nowhere to be found. After looking for someone to help, my husband finally got frustrated and called the dealership. After being disconnected twice, he finally got in touch with the GM, who got my service consultant to come give me an update. It was then, after I had been waiting for five hours, that she told me that sometimes it takes 7 or more hours for this process. I was NEVER told that kind of turnaround time, and if I had known, I would have made plans for transportation to and from the dealership, rather than waiting in their waiting room for that long. They told me that they needed to order a part, and they would let me know when it was ready. At that point, I was unable to wait on my car any longer, as I had another appointment. When I asked if they had checked my brakes, she said the technician hadn't heard it when he test drove it. Honestly, I think he just didn't take the time to drive it, because the next mechanic I took it to was able to hear it right away and diagnose the problem within minutes. I waited a whole two weeks for the service department to get back to me, but I gave up waiting. I tried calling, but either no one picked up in the service department, or the call got disconnected. I took my car to Southtowne in Newnan, despite the little bit of extra drive, and they were able to solve all my problems quickly and with frequent updates. They provided a shuttle the instant I arrived, because they knew it would take a while, and everyone was polite and able to answer all of my questions. I grew up in a family of mechanics, and honestly, the service I got here was disrespectful and subpar. I don't care about the distance, I'm taking my vehicles elsewhere from now on. read more

Bought a car from here almost a month ago and they still haven't paid my old car off like they said they would. I've called and left messages but no one calls me back. They treat you like gold before you buy your car but afterwards they don't even have the courtesy to call you back. When I was doing paperwork they had me fill out a sheet of paper for "references." Come to find out, they used those names and numbers to harass my friends and family about buying a car from them. The ad for my car said that the car had a fresh oil change. When I got in the car to drive it home, I found out it was never changed. We will NEVER ever go back to Ivory Chevrolet in Union City, GA. We recently purchased a new-used 2010 Chevy Equinox from an out of state dealer and our headlines would not come on (the day before my wife and girls were to leave on vacation). The closest dealer to us was Ivory Chevrolet in Union City. I drove down early and was first in line at service yesterday. Pulled in and spoke to the service advisor about our problem and the fact that neither headlight would come on and my wife was leaving on vacation the following day. He told me that since we had not purchased the car at Ivory they could not help today. I drove 20 miles south to Southtowne Chevrolet in Newnan, GA. After waiting in line (very busy rainy day) I explained again our problem to one of their service advisors Tracy Dinning. Tracy said not a problem he would get taken care me. Ended up that our headlight connectors had shorted out, melting both wiring harnesses and bulbs - all due to a bad battery connection. Not only did Southtowne Chevrolet fit our car in and fix it, they gave us a discount for the inconvenience. We will gladly drive the extra 20 miles to get our Equinox serviced at Southtowne Chev - thank you Tracy Dinning for helping me make my wife's vacation a success. read more

I had my oil changed there and I thought they were supposed to check all of your fluids. But they didn't. As a result, I almost burned up my engine because it didn't have any antifreeze in it. The time before that, they said they would rotate my tires. But when I got my vehicle back, the tires were in the same position as before. I knew this because my rims were damaged and that tire was in the same position. Couldn't get new tires because from my warranty because the place where I bought the tires said the tires hadn't been rotated. I won't be going back anytime soon. Sorry, but I'm not sorry. read more

This dealership declined to do a Service Bulletin repair for the exact problem I came in for, instead deciding that it wasn't worth attempting and that I should do a completely different (very expensive) repair which would not be covered by the warranty. I declined of course, but still had to pay their Multi point inspection fee of $152. Beware. read more

So I never got the follow-up phone call so I decided to call the dealership myself to schedule another appointment. I made the appointment for 8:00am on Friday, September 1st. Got there, was told Eddie would be my service advisor, paid the $120 diagnostic fee and left. A few hours later I receive a phone call saying that they couldn't duplicate the issues that I'd been having with the car and ultimately they didn't fix anything. They said they cleared out an old onstar error message and updated the audio system. I was confused as to what the audio system update was supposed to fix considering the fact that all of the radio issues were clearly electrical issues with the screen and had nothing to do with the audio. I went to pick the car up and immediately realized that neither the onstar nor the touchscreen issues had been fixed. I went in and made a complaint to Fred, another service advisor. He told me to bring the car back the next Friday, again at 8:00am. We agreed on this day and time because I live in Macon but spend weekends in Atlanta. I had also previously been told that this is not a problem that they could fix on a Saturday because the techs who would need to look at it don't work on Saturday. Fred also echoed this statement which is why I took off of work for the 2nd Friday in a row to bring my car in. I arrived at 8:30am and my keys were handed off to Eddie. At 10:00am, Eddie tells me that they can't look at or fix my car because they're booked. Which was COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT because I had an appointment. It's not like I was a walk-in. Fred stepped in and said that they would look at the car since I had an appointment but that it would be 3-4 hours. Fine, they gave me a ride to my grandmother's house and that was the last I heard from anybody, at 10:00am. I called at 4:00pm and left a message for Fred, he never called me back. I called again at 5:00pm and no one answered. So I went to the dealership at about 5:30pm. As I was walking in the front door I saw Fred walking out the back, so I had someone go to get him. He came and told me that he didn't know what was going on with my car and needed to talk to the tech. At this point my car had been there for 9 HOURS and you don't have a clue about what's going on?!?! Then he comes in to say that they really still don't know what's going and will need more time to figure it out. He gives 2 options as to what may be causing the onstar issue but never explains the electrical probelm with the touchscreen. So he asks to keep the car and get back to me the next day by 1:00pm. DESPITE THE FACT THAT I'D PREVIOUSLY BEEN TOLD BY MULTIPLE PEOPLE THAT THEY DON'T WORK ON "MAJOR ISSUES" ON SATURDAY. So when I asked how this was going to work, Fred informed me that they did indeed have technicians that worked on Saturdays who could fix the problem. Nice time to tell me, after I've missed two days from work. If it weren't for the fact that I've already paid them for the diagnostic, I would definitely be taking my car elsewhere. Fatima and Al were great when I bought my car in May but I absolutely under no circumstances will ever use their service department again. I will write an update tomorrow... read more

You see a plethora of salespeople when you are inquiring about a purchase, but it is ghost town when bringing your car in to be serviced. Very unprofessional. I called before dropping my car off for a diagnostic test and there was no answer for hours. I decided to take a chance because I rather go to a dealer and when I get there I have to hunt someone down to take my car. It took me 40 minutes to get someone to help me although no other car was in front of me and I visibly saw people sitting in their office as I waited. The next day I called to see if they've worked on it and still no answer. Finally an hour later after leaving a message with an assistant manager and a service assistant, I call again and the receptionist tries to help. She goes to the back and tries to get assistance in the service department. She says they will call back but I know how unreliable they are so now I just want my car back. The only reason they get one star is because the receptionist did her best to help me out. What kind of organization doesn't answer a phone and blames it on being busy. If I were to claim I was too busy to answer a phone call at work for 2 days I would be fired. If you are the type to just wait patiently for someone to give you valuable information while you pay, this is your place. If you want a service department that gives you up to date information and to answer the phones when you need them, I suggest you going elsewhere. I will NEVER again patronize this place and it's sad because it's the closest Chevy dealership to my house. read more

Brought my a new Camaro from here in 2011...I am now ready to trade in my two other vehicles for another new car. Ivory calls me at least 2 times a month for me to upgrade my 2011 Camaro. However, they hassled me so bad and kept me at the dealership for hours the day of purchase that I would be a fool (AGAIN) to return and give them my business. Then after educating myself I found out they overcharged me for a base model and with a ridiculous interest rate. I told my fiancé not to even go there for his new GMC truck because of my experience. Lesson to Ivory, if you have customers (single women), with good income and credit --don't take advantage of them. Horrible to say the least. I came in to get my car (Chevy Cruze 2014) appraised so I can trade it in for a 2014 Malibu. They for one never even appraised my car before they turned me down. I never got to pick out a used care to see what my negative balance that would've been added to a Malibu was gonna be. Just all around bad service. I've never been to a dealership that doesn't let you go and look and pick out a car before they run your credit or Etc..... Stay away and go else where. My Experience: The worst customer service experience I have ever had. I came in to redeem a free oil change voucher given to me due to a previous incident only to be told that they would not honor my voucher because that manager Brian Brewer no longer worked there. What does his unemployment have to do with my voucher?! Should I mention I received this voucher because they held my vehicle and myself for 12hours with an appointment ! After 4 hours they said they were skipping me because I didn't have an appointment. After 6hours they said they were waiting on a part. After a total of 12 hours they said they couldn't fix it. I had my car towed to the Ivory Chevrolet Dealer because my car shut down. The battery died. I had just put a new battery in the vehicle so I knew something other the battery was the problem. The car arrived at Ivory around 10:00am on a Friday morning. I know this because I received a call from one of the advisers in the Service Department by the name of Diane. Diane told me that they had received the vehicle and they will take a look at it to determine the cause of the breakdown. After four hours had past and I hadn't heard back from Diane on the status of the vehicle, I called. I was told by Diane that my car had not been looked at and that there were other vehicles that would be attended to before mine because they had appointments or were driven in. She said she will call me back to let me know the status once my car had been looked at. Fifteen minutes before the Service Department closed for that day, Diane called to tell me that they had put my car battery on a slow, overnight charge. She let me know that she would not be working the next day (a Saturday) but that Bryan and Denise will be able to provide me with a status of my vehicle. So I called the next day and talked to Bryan. Bryan said that he knew nothing about my vehicle and that there was no notes left on my vehicle. He could see the vehicle but that nothing was being done to my vehicle. He told me that he would consult with the shop supervisor and call me back. Bryan never called me back. So now I am out of a vehicle for the entire weekend. On Monday I received a call from Diane to tell me that they had determined I needed an alternator and that they will have the car ready for me that afternoon. I asked her about the inactivity on my vehicle on Saturday but she had no explanation to offer. At 3:46 Monday afternoon, Diane called to tell me my car was ready for pick up and the cost. Besides the fact that I had to wait for several minutes to pick up my car once I arrived at the dealership (Diane was paged twice but would not answer), but I found out later that the person that serviced by car did not take the time to finish the job. The day after I picked up my car, I went to put something in my back seat and noticed there was an object on the floor of my car. It was the cover to my battery. I was appalled. I had never ever had anything like that happen to me where the mechanic didn't finish the work on my car - putting all the parts back where they came from. They charge all that money for their service but don't offer good customer service in return. I have not intentions of ever going back to Ivory Chevrolet. read more

Update: I am still without a tag. The tag department at the dealership has been nothing but rude in their dealings with me. They have called several times to talk about my issues with no resolution. They seem to forget who the customer is in this situation as they have blamed me several times in this situation. Please find yourself a more replicable dealership to purchase your car from. There are several in the surrounding area with better customer service. They staff at Ivory is untrained in customer service. Horrible experience. read more

The customer services is awesome before you purchase a car from Ivory Chevrolet. Once you purchase a pre-owned car, that is another story. One of the salesman, Melvin Lomax, who sold me a 2015 Cadillac SRX, was very nice and professional during my car buying experience about a 2 months ago. Melvin encouraged me to write a review to tell about my wonderful car buying experience (which I did). Now, I deem it necessary to write a review about my customer service experiences afterwards. Well 2 months later, the rear door wouldn't open (keep in mind 2015 Cadillac luxury edition). I know that buying preowned cars are risky but I took a chance. I did not expect Ivory Chevrolet to fix it for free but I wanted to call Melvin just to see what he would say. I explained the problem to Melvin and he seemed overly concerned and asked when could I bring the Cadillac in so that service department could look look at it. After further conversation, Melvin told me to come in on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11:00 am and ask to see him personally. I explained to Melvin that I had to work and my wife would bring the car. Next day, my wife took the Cadillac to the dealership and Melvin was nowhere to be found. (Well, I know that things come up....no problem). My wife talked to the service department, explained the problem and they said they would charge $120 to diagnose the problem and apply that fee to the total charge. My wife agreed to let them diagnose the problem. THE PART THAT UPSET ME MOST was that Melvin came into the dealership after my wife had been waiting about 3 hours. My wife talked to Melvin and she told him she had been waiting since 10:45 am and that the Cadillac had been taken back to the service department.. Melvin, again seemed overly concerned and said....I am sorry you about that, let me check on your Cadillac and "I will be right back." Well, haven't seen Melvin since. My wife was at the dealership for at least two more hours after talking to Melvin. I would recommend to Ivory Chevrolet to treat customers the same (whether they are buying cars or bringing them back for repairs after purchase). read more

They told me that I had to wait until a Monday morning, today is Friday. Additionally they would not provide a loaner. On top of the disappointment, the customer service was horrible. I checked back and was told they were working on it. A week later, I was told the car was being worked on. I went up to the dealer another week later and was told the same lie. Today, MAY 22nd, I went back to see about my car and it was parked in the same place. They were still saying we are going to work on it. The car had a flat and they said they had nothing to do with that. I had to drive away with a flat tire. They are the awful. I will never go back there. read more

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT SHOP WITH IVORY CHEVROLET. I bought a car from them over a year ago and they registered it to the wrong state. The first 6 months when I'd call someone it was rare anyone answered the phone and they didn't call back. After showing up in person and talking to people they kept assuring me they were working on it and would always say "two more weeks" and give me a temporary tag. Three temporary tags go by and they quit answering their phones altogether and of course no call backs. The registration expired so I had to go out of my pocket again to fix the problem they created and get the car registered in GA. I then proceeded to put a review and post on their facebook. In which they resonded by deleting my post and telling me to call them. I then posted my post 10 times and told them I would continue for everytime they deleted my posts about their terrible customer service and lack of management or any sense of a business ethic. I then told them it made no sense in me calling again after I had been for over a year and had to end up coming out of pocket and fixing the problem myself. At this point they blocked me. I took my vehicle to this place for a simple diagnostic check. Its been four days and my vehicle is still sitting there, mind you. I had an 8:30am appt for friday morning. They did not even look at the car till after lunch. Whats the point of scheduling an appointment? I guess we (customers) dont have anything to do but sit allday. Theres a reason we make appointments. I would give a zero if I could. I had to have my Camaro towed in because the check engine light came on, and the car started shaking. It had been jerking when I accelerated. This was at the end of September. I had to rent a car because there were no loaner cars available. So, this was money out of my own pocket. While my car was there, I had no communication from anyone telling me what was going on with my car. I left messages with no call back. I finally had to go to the dealership for them to tell me they were waiting on a part to come in. Mind you, I'm still paying for this rental 6 to 7 days in. I do not live close to the dealership, so it was really inconvenient. Finally, I get a call that my car is ready. I pick the car up the next day. On my way home, the same exact problem happened in a thunderstorm!!! Thank goodness I had not made it on the interstate yet heading home from work. The dealership had to send a towtruck to pick the car up. Needless to say, nothing was fixed with almost a $2000 bill plus an expensive rental bill. So, I go back to the dealership, and they give me a loaner car with NO gas!!! The car stayed in the shop a few days. I pick it when I'm called for it. Fast forward to this past Monday, October 5th, it happened AGAIN!!! This time it is worse than ever. My car started shaking, check engine light starts blinking, thick white smoke is coming out of the exhaust pipes, and strong gasoline fumes came into the car causing me to have an instant headache. Again, I had just gotten off of the interstate. My paranoia for driving is at an all time high because of these unsafe situations I have been put in. I had to get my car towed AGAIN to my house, miss a day of work to have it towed to another dealership because I DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!! Now, I had to rent another car OUT OF MY POCKET until the problem is really solved. I feel that I need to be compensated for EVERYTHING, plus pain and suffering, from this place!!!! They finally fixed the Recall.. The rest of the issues are up to me to handle lol.. They claim my windshield crack didn't spread from the crack that was there prior to them fixing the small crack. Now there is a line across my windshield.They claim it's from a bent wheel.. So that's why my car shakes very bad and making loud noises the salesman told me my car issues I guess they know more than they techs. I can't deal with this dealership. read more

Returned to find out it has front in body damage. Dealership did not take any ownership of the damage, gave us the runaround. They made us come back only to hand us a phony inspection that they stated was done on the day of service. Avoid avoid avoid! I figured I will write a review on yelp in hopes that someone will see it in an internet search. I wrote one weeks ago on Google reviews, and I noticed that mine, along with other reviews disappeared. Avoid this place like the plague. These people are liars and scam artists, and insider pages reviews can vouch for it. They used to be Steve Rayman Chevy but recently received new management. Long story short, they lied to the bank, and after a month and a half of driving in the car, I was told the bank wouldn't finance me. This was after everything was approved. The salesman also lied to his general manager in which he called me and cursed me out. I lost my down payment, they lied to the bank regarding my qualifications after I turned in accurate documents. The salesman Raul Joseph was a fake. The GM Jim was an unprofessional jerk. I happily gave them their car back, took my money elsewhere and paid cash. If you are interested in buying a car, please do not go here. You will be disappointed. They are cons. Go elsewhere, do your research and read other reviews about them online. They do not deserve the business. read more
