This studio was used for my daughters school pictures. I want to first say the pictures came out gorgeous, minus one of my daughters did have to retake her pictures due to similar issues that I see others left reviews regarding, such as lighting issues etc, however the retakes were stunning and I was so anxious to get the photos and add them to my gallery along with the rest of their school pictures. My order was placed 10/28/24, it's been several months (we're in June 2025) and I still have not received my purchase or any communication from anyone from the company regarding my purchase, and this isn't my first time reaching out. Initially when placing the order, the system did not give the option/ opportunity to verify or update my address , because I've purchased from this company a time or two before, so I'm assuming the system assumed that my contact information was still the same . However, immediately after submitting the order (literally once I hit submit) I noticed the error in address with the confirmation submission and I called the number that was provided. I spoke with someone regarding the mix up who then said I'd have to wait for the package to be delivered / received to the wrong address and then retuned. Which to me made no sense at all because I reached out to customer service immediately after I placed the order and it had not been printed or processed yet . so why updating my address and shipping to the correct address when I had the order number and etc was impossible to be done is beyond me. However, I feel I waited long enough and with no assistance or even communication. Again, this order and incident occurred in October 2024, I also reached out February this year and we are currently in June 2025 and after sending a number of different emails regarding my order to every email address attached to this company that I could find , I wake up this morning to a refund. Thank you for the refund , but still No apology, no acknowledgment and still no communication at all . The Customer service for this company is terrible. I truly looked forward to adding my girls pictures to our gallery of their other school photos. Even with this poor experience, I still wish this company nothing but success, however i do have my fingers crossed tightly, that the school my girls are currently attending doesn't choose to use them again this upcoming school year. read more

They treated my daughter with the utmost respect and care, regardless of her disability, which meant so much to us as a family. The pictures they took of her were absolutely stunning--capturing her personality perfectly. The prices are on the higher side, but the attention to detail and the quality of the photos made it completely worth it. We also used Ivey Photography for my son's football team pictures. That experience was a little more chaotic, probably because of the larger group, but the photos still turned out great. Every picture they take of my kids has a horrible glare on their glasses. I haven't been able to have pictures of my son playing sports since they started using Ivey. The glare isn't as bad on indoor pictures but, still much worse than previous photographers. It is very disappointing. I have bought the school photos because they are acceptable and want to have those memories. I can take pictures of my son doing sports that are better and thankfully Ivey doesn't do my daughter's sports photos. What can they do better? Learn to take pictures of people in glasses. They did the school photos at my daughter's school. I was so excited to buy them and send to family members. HOWEVER, when I got the samples the pictures looked HORRIBLE. They took the picture while she was talking, didn't even wait for her to smile! I'll get her school pictures elsewhere I guess because ain't no way I'm spending money on this mess!! read more

We spent our evening yesterday with Chris, taking our engagement photos. There is no doubt that we picked the greatest photographer. He is the best around. After viewing his work it wasn't possible to pick anyone else - his images are in a class of their own, so much better than any other photographer's that we looked at. We really enjoyed our time with him. He was professional and fun. He has an unbelievable eye and attention to detail. We couldn't be more pleased with our decision. Ivey does beautiful and unique portraits. We used them for family portraits several years ago and were extremely pleased with everything. This year we used them for our daughters senior pictures and got some beautiful pictures as well. The price to quality/quantity ratio kept them from five stars for us. Their website states free "gift" prints with an order of a book and a large photo. We did three books and a large photo ( $4,500.00) and our access to prints was limited, unlike our family session with less money spent! We did a very large metal print that was ordered "painted". We expected vibrant colors like we saw in the studio but the finished product was an exact replica of the photo, and in large form showed a pretty obvious lighting issue around her mouth that wasn't caught or fixed. It is pretty but we feel little time was spent on it for the money. The books are beautiful and had all the best shots, we were very pleased with them! Unique and awesome are just two words that come to mind when I think of Ivey Photography in Midlothian. They have photographed many members of my family and extended family over the past year. Ivey Photography did my bridal portraits and reception. They did a marvelous job!! They were a bit pricey but it was well worth it, Chris did an amazing job, they are pictures I will treasure forever. Everyone always comments on my bridal picture asking where I got it done because its so gorgeous! I would love to give them 5 stars but I only gave them 4 because they are a bit more than other photographers (it's worth it though!) Not only that, Chris makes the environment fun and helps you relax and feel comfortable so you don't look uptight in photos (like how I usually am in front of the camera). Don't let the lack of reviews scare you, I don't know why they don't have more- but he did a great job! I couldn't be happier with our experience with Ivey. read more
