Need UGS fixed/repaired? These are the guys to call in the Tri-Cities, WA! I called them yesterday and they showed up ON TIME today to fix my sprinklers. They turn on my water, fixed 7 sprinklers shooting in wrong directions and replaced 3 sprinkler heads. We are a disabled household (my partner is a combat vet with severe complex PTSD and bipolar and I have a rare genetic condition), and a nosy neighbor called the city on us despite me telling this neighbor that we were doing our best. We had very little time to get a handle on a very large yard (almost an acre) that had gotten well out of control or face serious fines and a court date. I called around and nobody called back except for David. He came over to discuss the plan quickly and prioritized us to fit a very large job into a very busy schedule. He spent a lot of time working out details and was very sympathetic and quoted me a very reasonable price and was able to work with our financial restrictions. He and his employees went well out of the way, in full summer heat, surrounded by wasps and hornets, to make sure we weren't going to be taken to court and I'm so grateful. read more

This will be a long review, but I want to be as detailed as possible; I do not leave reviews generally. I started keeping logs about half way through this experience, when I started getting the feeling this may have been a wrong decision. I made an appointment with David Martinez of IVE Landscaping, the owner, to check my sprinkler system and fix a couple of lines that were running, after the program was shut off. Dad and I took a day off and waited for David. He missed the appointment and a family member answered the phone when I called. He was sick; she did not know what I was talking about. She relayed info between David and me and we rescheduled for the next day. Saturday, David and another person came at the appointed time, in uniform. They stayed for 10 minutes and told us they didn't work on weekends and will have to come back on Monday. We were told it would be an all day job. Alright, fine, come back on Monday and take all day, I'll leave it open again. On Monday, David came by himself, finished everything in under an hour, checked the whole system, or so he charged on the receipt, and left. He said everything was checked -- the whole system works. I let the sprinklers run the next couple of days and have a flood on multiple sides of the house and the street is flooded with water; there are now more sprinklers running after they're shut off than before. After some exchanges over the phone, he agreed to come back and fix what he did. The 4th time he came here he spent a couple of hours and checked and replaced every single valve out of my eight lines. He charged another $400 on top of the $200+ on the first visit. My dad, who is very blunt, told him -- that's it, right? You fixed everything, everything works, no more half-assed work, we're paying you to fix the whole system and make it work, whatever needs to be done? Yeah, David said. He explains there was a leak in the other box of four valves. I asked him how come he didn't catch it last time and he said he didn't check the other box the last time. But you charged me for the whole system check, and you didn't even open those four? Alright, never mind, he checked them this time... we moved on. Next day, a flood on two sides of the house and the street is flooded again. I notify him and he's argumentative again, blames the fault on me but reluctantly agrees to come see me the 5th time. I'm waiting for him at home when I hear my dogs barking at the back yard, I look and David is there. I tell him I asked him to text me so that I can unlock the gate and let him in, he said it was open. I go to the side and check, the padlock cord is damaged and the lock forced open. He tightens the valves, says he never had issues with them before and says let's check the system. I'll be in the garage and advance the zones, he'll go around and yell if they work. He says all eight work as we ran through them. We agree that since he lives in Pasco and I in Kennewick, to give it 3 to 4 days and notify him how it works then. I told him that would be great and that I would shoot him a text message even if everything works well, so he has peace of mind. He says great and leaves. Four days later and I'm calling him to let him know the 4 sprinklers that make up the entire zone 8 don't work. They worked fine before and were not even part of the original issue, which he knows, but now they don't work since he changed all the valves. Along with that, zone 7 that was not the source of running water before but became one after the first valve change on the third visit, is flooding to the street again and not shutting off the sprinklers. I exchanged about 20-30 texts with David and he is telling me he cannot come out for "every little thing" and it's probably something I'm doing wrong, and why am I contacting him a week later, the job is done. I explain again that the entire line does not work and another line is flooding still, even after the fix I paid for and that it is now four days later and I am contacting him at the time we agreed. He tells me that he did not work on that and it's something he never repaired, even though he got paid for changing all 8 valves, charged for all eight of them and vouched they all worked. In the end he and his co-worker came here, found out it was the valve and fixed it. It is now a month later and I found one of the valves is most likely broken. It is making a sound I described to David and he claims he does not know what it is, but will not guarantee parts, nor labor, without a $50 visit fee. I do not have the receipts for any of the valves he exchanged even if I went to exchange it myself to avoid more visit charges; I assumed the valves were new but David did not reply to the text about receipts. I'm hiring someone else this week to finish the job. I'm not telling anyone whom to hire or not, that's up to them; I've had a terrible experience -- bad enough to write this long review. read more

I wanted to give them a good rating, but it didn't work out that way. When we needed some sprinkler repair done I called IVE Landscaping based on their Yelp reviews. David came right away and gave us an estimate that we felt was reasonable. They did well and worked hard as long as we had everything planned out, but when they had to do some problem solving they bailed and charged us an EXTRA $200 for the time spent trying to figure out a problem that we figured out 15 minutes after they left. I guess I expected someone who has been doing this for over 15 years to be able to figure out a simple problem. So, if you just want physical work done and no problem solving they're ok. read more

I called for I needed my yard lanscaping but had no clue what to do or where to start. David shown up on time and was very professional. He answered all my questions and given me alot of great ideas of what to do and was free. Once I decided he then gave me an estimate that did not hurt me financially like others quoted me. He did job fast and blown me away of how beautiful my yard looks now. Couldnt of asked for a better company. I contacted I.V.E. a few days ago about a retaining wall. We communicated via email, which is great for busy people like me. The estimate was a very fair price. I asked when they could get it done, and was told it would be just about a week. Then they suggested that they could do it on the weekend for a fair amount. I agreed to the amount, they came out, and got right to work. They did a fabulous job. The wall is beautiful and I am so happy. I would absolutely use them again! read more
