There is a nice pathway all the way around that I love to walk while my dogs play. There is also plenty of shade. The small dog side does not have the space for a walkway, but has plenty of seating for hanging out with your dogs. There are water fountains for humans and dogs on both sides and rakes and shovels to use as pooper scoopers. Pretty much everyone that goes there are friendly and attentive of their dogs. The parks are poop free most of the time, but sometimes there is a missed pile. The fencing is pretty secure, but very small dogs can get under the fence between the big and small dog areas. Just keep an eye on your wee pups. Parking is very close and there are plenty of spaces. There is also a playground nearby if you have children old enough to play on their own. Another cool thing is that Ivan was a Tucson PD Canine and this dog park is a memorial to him.

We arrived at 3:30pm on a Tuesday. There were only four dogs at the time. My dog is alpha and likes to show dominance, but he never got aggressive. We started talking to some of the locals and every one of them said they loved this dog park because of the shade and the size. Their only complaint was the park has no lights at night. Whatever light there is comes from the ball field next door. I liked the benches all over the park, the many trash bins with pooper scoopers on each one, the two water stations, the ample parking lot. People come here to drop off plastic bags but I brought my own. There is also a small agility section near the parking lot entrance. We will be back!

A great dog park with friendly and regular people that come by, only issue lately has been that…read morepeople aren't cleaning up after their dogs and people have been bringing their unfriendly or poorly tempered dogs without even watching them. The parks got ample space, shade, trees, trash bins, pooper scoopers, and 2 water fountains. I'd recommend bringing your own water as my dog has gotten sick from drinking the fountain water twice now. Please clean up after your pet, keep an eye on them, and just be a responsible pet parent. The dog park isn't a daycare for your animal to just do as they please and not be corrected. I've seen a few dogs get into fights because 1 owner wasn't being responsible. Take accountability and look after your own damn animal. Don't be the reason or person that ruins the park for others. :)

We've taken to walking in the park on weekends in lieu of walking downtown these days, and McDonald…read morePark is pretty perfect for it. It has a nicely paved path, and when the path is busy with people (yes, we are taking distancing seriously), there are some unpaved trails that connect around the perimeter too that we can duck out on to. The paved trail is very well kept, and on our last visit, we noticed that the park employees actually go so far as to blow dust, dirt, and debris off of it periodically too. The entire loop is about 0.75 miles, so we do a few laps, and it's a peaceful experience. The dog parks (there are two) here are pretty cool, too. They get lots of use, and they seem to be very clean. We've never seen anything but dogs having fun! McDonald park also has LOTS of baseball diamonds and grassy areas, which is awesome because we enjoy tossing the softball around. We go at off hours, so we never run into organized games, so there's always plenty of space for us to play. We also use the basketball court often, which is paved nice and smoothly, and the net definitely has been replaced when needed. There are lights on the court, too, so play during dusk is possible. The park also features a playground that is almost always being used when we're walking around or playing ball. I'm not sure on its upkeep, but the rest of the park is clean all the time, so I'd say it's probably fine too. Something that some people may not notice, but I do, is that there are lots of garbage cans throughout the park, even a bunch on the walking trail loop. No excuse to litter and muck up our beautiful natural spaces! This is a really great park with a lot of amenities (even bathrooms). It is well taken care of. The verandas and picnic table areas, as well as the parking lots, very rarely have any trash around. And the trash cans are mostly empty. Everything seems to be in working order, and if it's not, it is by our next visit. The staff here does a really great job!

This is very popular in Texas except they have very nice parks in the new developments with trees and grass and all kinds of other stuff that dogs hate. Here are the kept all that stuff out of the park and basically they have ground that feels like concrete but looks like dirt and they've thrown some rocks down on it because we know how dogs love stepping on rocks. There is no shade in the dog park, there is no water in the dog park, there is no trash can in the dog park, there are no poop bags in the dog park except one someone has kindly tied on to the fence. They have a fire hydrant and a plastic tube for the dogs to go through and something for them to jump through. Now outside the dog park they have a nice shaded structure with a nice water fountain and a trash can? Which means you have to leave the dog park to go throw the poop away? So anyway after a little over 2,000 dog park visits all across the country, this was a bit of a disappointment for me and young lady

They have a large dog park including a separate area for small dogs that was very well kept. There's some seating area and water for the doggies. The community here is friendly too. After a few laps around the dog park, we walked the trail around the park. This was nice aside from the rattlesnake near the path -- yikes! Luckily it was early morning enough that I don't think it would have really done any harm but definitely keep an eye out if you go. The park is cute too with a large children's play area. There's something for everyone and even in the hot summer months there was a good crowd here.
