You don't have to wait to get on machines. Everyone shares and nobody judges. We all help each other. It's a very, very clean gym. The owner keeps it very well cleaned and maintained. The weights are always back in its place unlike other gyms in the area. It kinda feels like your own personal gym when your there. I love it. It's an old school type of gym which I love also. Erin and Rod provide a family friendly and all fitness level inclusive training environment. The facility is tucked away on the West side of town, standard warehouse/crossfit/training style gym with AstroTurf. They also use the facility for youth baseball/softball training (you'll see batting cages). As a pretty picky exerciser that used to teach multiple fitness classes, I was extremely happy with Erin's instruction and ability to modify for injury. Workouts include a thoughtful warmup (and foam rolling) and interval training. (example: ball slams, trx, goblet squats, pushups, prowler, etc.) Easy to schedule strength sessions (on line) and classes are drop-in with no advance signup required. They encourage (not require) a modified ketogenic diet. While it was explained and encouraged, it was nice to not feel like there was a book of "rules", but rather guidelines for making choices. They do sell Keto//OS as a supplement - again, they suggest and don't require. Erin posts on Facebook Live frequently offering tips and advice on a healthy keto lifestyle. The locker rooms, bathrooms and showers are very clean just incredibly clean! All the staff members are friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend checking this place out if your in the area. I'm looking forward to dropping in to join a WOD the next time I'm in Bloomington, I might even come down just for that! .

I had never heard of CrossFit before I joined Hoosier CrossFit, and I cannot have asked for a better gym to start doing CrossFit. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and will go above and beyond to make sure you understand what you're doing and that you're having a great experience. They organize a ton of events and have really built a community around the gym. The workouts are always fun and NEVER repetitive. The variety of workouts is the selling point for me. You will never be bored. I never realized how spoiled I was at Hoosier CrossFit until I moved to NYC for a summer job and joined a CrossFit gym there that was 3 times the price and double the number of students per class, which meant I got minimal personal attention. They provide clean towels and clean restrooms with a shower. Jordan is awesome and the care he puts into maintaining the space and the equipment is evident every time you visit. He offered a month of training gratis, and I took him up on the offer. As for the experience, Force seems to be a great place to get a quick workout in. The staff are friendly, and knowledgeable. The actual 'work' done in a session ranges from 15-40 minutes. Warm up includes a bit of foam rolling, and some dynamic stretching exercises. The actual workout involves circuit-type functional training. I like that they incorporate explosive plyometric movements for people who are more fit, and yet find modifications for people who are just getting into fitness. Advantages: 1) No need to think. These people do the programming, you only need to show up 2) Matt (the trainer I had) was great about checking form and providing modifications to the suggested exercises. 3) I like the community. It is nice to see familiar faces at each workout... definitely helps in keeping me motivated. 4) Facility is clean, nice shower/changing rooms. 5) I like the fact that you choose particular days and times for classes in advance; it really helps keep you on track and accountable. Disadvantages: 1) I personally found the workouts to be too boring and easy (I don't think I ever woke up with a sore muscle after a workout). I come from a personal training background, and I'm used to spending more time at the gym. This program is likely ideal for a person of average fitness. Often after a workout at Force I head to the campus gym to get more cardio training and lifting in. 2) I find the location of this place to be less-than-ideal. This is just me. 3) Certain days of the week (namely days that involve isometric type exercises) are incredibly boring. (My friends have had similar complaints) 4) Pricing: this place is a bit expensive. Suggestions: 1) Perhaps have certain boot camp sessions cater to beginner or advanced levels of fitness. As it stands, there are too many people in a class with too many different issues to target. It is kind of a mess. 2) If you are already an athlete or experienced in training, I suggest you forgo the boot camp sessions, and try out personal training (this may be more rigorous and tailored) Summary: After this bootcamp, I will not be returning to Force (I may not even finish the boot camp that was offered). It is located on the outskirt of town, far from where I work/live, and the workouts aren't really working out for me. I know a lot of other people who love this place (secretaries, neighbors, friends, etc.) but it just isn't my thing.

Enigma has very different feel than the first escape room company I went to. Unlike a lot of escape rooms (Breakout Games, Escape, etc.) this one is not a franchise. The rooms are entirely original from traditional escape games (no kidnapping or other overused themes). The room we did was called "Grandma's secret recipe" I believe and the goal was to search "grandma's" house and find her recipe before the bank comes to take it. The puzzles were challenging, even if they could use some tweaking. The staff was incredibly open to feedback and I think it's just developing currently. I imagine creating original rooms is more difficult than the kits many places use! I definitely recommend going in a group, because you never know who you'll be paired with otherwise. Overall I recommend Enigma and I'm excited to try out their "Haunted Dorm" this fall!

And we're glad we did, because it was a great way to spend the afternoon. You basically get locked inside of a room filled with tons of clues. You're presented with a puzzle and then have only 1 hour to solve it. Who knew it would be such a rush! We went with some puzzle-room pros, and they were pleased by the level of difficulty at Enigma. $25 seemed somewhat steep for only 1 hour, but it's actually on the cheaper end compared to places in Indy and Boston. The staff were SUPER friendly and enthusiastic about escape rooms. ....I could see how it may be less fun if you're a group of 2 stuck with some strangers, but definitely grab a group of friends (or Team Building Event 2017) and go. You'll be reliving your Saw-victory for quite a while.
