We were looking for stuff for the kids to do and this popped up and we are so glad that it did because this place rocks! It sits in the center of a shopping center and is very easy to find. They open at 8am so that's nice too! We went on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. It was $40 for two kids and two adults which was more than reasonable for the time we spent there. If you're looking for a place like a children's museum without the museum and traffic, this is the place! The kids loved it and didn't want to leave. Wow, it is hard for me to compare this with play street in St Charles, MO. Concept looks similar but this has so much more space. Also, the water table definitely puts it a level above play street. We just visited discovery center in downtown Springfield. Its water table was pitiful and non functioning with standing heavily chlorinated water. This place has a functioning water table that is also cute too. Admission is a lot more but it is worth it. The separate baby area is a huge plus that we didn't see in play street. There is baby piano and slides and other Montessori wooden toys. Gift shop could be better stocked but still had some interesting baby toys. read more

This was a smaller children's museum than I expected and is more like a play area similar to Play Street Museum in St. Charles, MO. It's located between some restaurants on a shopping strip. I like that admission for adults accompanying kids is only $4 on Thursdays. Weekend admissions cost a little more. My kids played with pretty much everything within 1.5 hours including the art room (small paper craft, Lego table, and painting on the windows), light room, fire station, cafe, vet clinic, grocery store, puppet theater, water table. They have several climbing structures, shopping carts to run over your feet as kids race around the track, and little cars. They have a party room available for private birthday parties too. Overall it's an excellent place for pretend/imaginative play and water play (bring extra clothes). The space is limited; otherwise it would be neat if they rotated or brought in new exhibits sometimes or expanded the art room activities. read more

It is probably unfair to compare the various kid play opportunities nationwide but after living in California for years and having access to pretend city and San Diego kids museum and now living in the Twin Cities and having annual passes to the Kids Museum we found ourself in Springfield with a few days three small kids and a lot of few time. Throw some rain in and you have the reason we came to Itty Bitty to run down the kids on a rainy Missouri day. 11 dollars for kids 1 and up and 4 dollars for adults was steep for a place a little larger than a restaurant. You enter and wash hands and then have opportunities to check out a pretend grocery store, vet, arts and crafts and various play structure rooms. Our kids had fun don't get me wrong it just wasn't worth the 50$ The place is small The staff isn't very kind There isn't a lot of seating for adults who pay to get in but really aren't supposed to be in half the areas. They don't have internet and the cell signal is bad. I am all for being hands on in the play but after 30 minutes in the animal vet I wanted to get fresh air or post this on social media. This is a great concept, but unfortunately it was very unclean and unkept. I'm not sure the toys had been sanitized in a long time. The water area smelled very musty/moldy. My almost 3YO grandson really enjoyed it! It is small but there are lots of different play structures/cubes that encourage imaginative play. The staff was friendly and helpful. This place is incredible! I was so impressed! Price is $11 per child + $4 per adult, so $15 for my four year old daughter to play all day and she loved it! There are a lot of imaginative play options, something that she really loves but there are also more active, hands on things as well like climbers and building toys. Fans of Melissa and Doug will certainly appreciate this play place. They even have a little shop with one of the largest selections of Melissa and Doug toys, among others, that I've seen. I was a bit worried about cleanliness/germs before coming but I got over it quickly since this place gives off clean vibes as soon as you enter. There's a hand washing station where everyone has to wash up before entering and the place is spotless! It felt cleaner than wal-mart or a public park that's for sure. There are three family sized restrooms and a separate nursing room with a table/toys for older kids to sit and play while waiting. There are also plenty of seats/benches located throughout for adults to sit which was really great because I could let my daughter play without hovering but I was able to comfortably keep an eye on her no matter where she went to play. They had a constant good mix of Disney classics/tv show tunes/kids pop playing at a good level the whole time too, so ambiance is just awesome. There's an awesome water feature as well. I recommend having a change of clothes and sandals if you plan on letting little ones play here and saving it for last if you have other errands to run, or if it's cold out, as even though they had water smocks my daughter was able to soak herself, but she had so much fun, so it's definitely worth it. read more

Great concept but needs some tweaks. Very costly for the facility. $11 for my 2 year old, $4 for myself and $4 for my husband and then they even charge for my baby that doesn't leave his carriage. Unique and fun place for the little kiddos! So many things to do, they had a blast and even my adult sister got into the pretending playing part haha :) Im giving it 4 stars because its true that the price is a bit ridiculous considering you're paying for what you have to do anyways (watch your kids), but once in a while this is fun to do. The employees sat behind the desk looking at their phones the whole time. Nothing was organized. No one was keeping up with cleaning. I'm not concerned with the sanitation as much as putting the grocery items back, cleaning up behind the kids that are leaving and putting them in their rightful place. There's no mail the boxes are broke. The vet lacks animals, the deli has little to no food items.... The water area is all broke as well as the trains. It was very cute. However, some of the staff was rude. Multiple people had masks under their nose and no one said a word. I pulled down my mask one time for a second to help my son hear me better and a lady came over and said "ma'am you have to keep your mask on" I apologized and said ok, and she continued to threaten to kick me out! It was uncalled for, especially since they were ignoring the other people without the masks on properly. We traveled to Springfield for the zoo and realized it was too hot so we Googled things to do in Springfield with toddlers and found this. It really was an amazing place and my grandbaby had so much fun. What keeps me from giving it 5 stars, is the staff running it are unfriendly. The girl sat at the desk playing on her phone the entire time and had no idea what was going on. I tried to have a friendly conversation with her while I filled out the waiver form but she couldn't get her face out of her phone. The other girl came out later from somewhere and while they don't close until 6, they began picking up and shutting things down at 5. To a certain degree this is understandable but maybe if they picked up throughout the day instead of playing on their phone, they wouldn't have as big of a mess at the end, and kids would actually beable to go play in the shops with the proper toys in them. My daughter and I dug stuff out of 3 shopping carts and tried to put the pizza shop and grocery store in some order so our child could actually play. Besides the worker, this place is amazing and if we didn't live 4 hours away, we would come more often. If you have a toddler or preschool age child, I would highly recommend and the price is very reasonable. I would love to see a place like this open closer to home. read more

Also was wearing my mask and another staff member told me to pull it up even more even thought it was already covering my mouth and nose. a few things to take note of this children's play place! The first is there is a daycare that rents a room out of the facilities. So there are around 20(maybe more?) of all different aged unsupervised children running wild. There are people supposed to be watching them but one of the ladies looked like she was having a hard time keeping track and running after kids and another man sipping his coffee didn't look like he was helping at all. It was just very strange paying top dollar for my kids to get in to find out a whole area of the itty bitty city (the stage) was being used by this day care. I was sitting on the bench and basically made to leave the area. Second of all there are a lot of adults who seem they have no children they are caring for, rando creepy men who just sit and stare at the kids (that aren't their children) this made me want to leave and i was extra cautious and felt i had to keep all four of my kids in one area at the same time which is very hard with four rambunctious kids. lastly the ladies working were not very nice! two of them were hanging around the front counter not doing anything just whispering to each other!! maybe a tip for the owners , let your customers know that you run a daycare out of your facilities while operating your business,, and maybe you could charge less on days that the daycare meets! because it was a total turn off! We all had a BLAST at the sensory event! Such an awesome, unique place. The kids had so much fun. (lol and so did we). Every employee was so friendly and helpful. And they were always making sure the toys got put back into their correct places for the next kiddos. We loved the hand washing station. Everything was kept so clean. IBC is trash. Hours always say they are open but when you pull up there are maybe 3-5 kids throughout the entire place and they say they are closed for a bday party. Literally makes zero sense at all. I get off Saturday at 5 and every single time, 4 weeks in a row, they are closed due to a private party. I'd love to see this place go bankrupt and a place more better for actual children wanting to enjoy a playtime can. read more

We took our 19-month-old to Itty Bitty City and she absolutely loved it! We went during a weekday and that was a perfect time to go, there weren't too many kids running around everywhere. It was a very clean place, they required all kids and parents/guardians to wash their hands before entering. They also had what they called "yuck buckets", so that if your child put a toy in their mouth they knew to clean that toy that night. The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was the area for children under 24 months, it wasn't a very big area for them to play, but my 19 month old was able to participate in everything else so we didn't spend very much time in that area. read more

If staff were more attentive and not so rude this place would be more enjoyable. It's difficult to take more than one kid here for one thing, as there's no actual line of sight to see more than one child at a time unless if they stick right by each other. I took my daughter up for two hours this morning and started feeling very ill. Not wanting to get everyone else sick at the place, I called my husband and he said he would watch our child for the rest of the time. I wasn't staying, he was simply taking my place. They wouldn't let him come in, without paying admission as well. Admission? It's enough of a joke that every adult has to pay admission to come in and literally watch their kid play. You're not an amusement park. It's not like adults are enjoying your amenities, we're literally sitting here watching our kids play. It was only four dollars for my husband to enter. Not a big deal as far as cost goes but the fact that the woman was so rude to us when she told us we couldn't swap out even though I was literally about to throw up. She said "if you were at a movie, would you get to swap out your ticket?". Actually, if I saw half of a children's movie and my child either had to leave halfway through with me because I got sick or have my husband take the seat I paid for for the movie, I actually DO believe the manager wouldn't be so inconsiderate as to make my child leave the movie too. Thanks for asking... We were considering buying a season pass which would've been hundreds of dollars and you lost out on that money because you wanted my husband to pay a four dollar entrance fee. Hope you continue to "make customers happy" at the expense of your business like this. We're not the kind of people that ask for a hand out. We've got enough money, it's just when you come across such rude people for the sake of a few dollars and the lack of customer service it really just shows you what a business' priorities are. read more

Okay, first visit here. I actually expected a lot more! It was $9 for my 2 year old, and $3 for myself; why exactly am I paying? I'm not playing with or on any of the items, and I'm still in charge of monitoring my own child. So basically $12 for my child to enter, okay fine let's see what they got... Upon entering there is a water play place to the right, not a lot going on there besides a dam stream, tornado vortex, and pumps your 2 year old will struggle to pull. About a dozen buildings with not a whole lot to do in them, probably the best one was the cafe area. Where kids could put on coats, and hats "please be bug free" and whip you up a pretend snack.. The vet clinic was cool with a washing area and exam table, and I guess the grocery shop was neat. Kids could pretend they were shopping... Aaaand that's about it. There's a school where kids could write on a chalkboard, an art center that didn't seem artsy, a car shop with a register and nailed down tires, a fire station with uniforms and the only small slide in the place, a police station with one riot helmet, and a tunnel from the cell to the stage area, oh and a stage with raggitty costumes! Towards the back there's a train area, and a play area for kids under 24 months, too bad because my 3 year old wanted to check out the ball pit... My suggestion is git more things like slides, swings, and playground type of stuff! It's honestly not that fun for kids to just stand there and pretend to shop or cook, my kid was done after an hour or so, and she's amused by everything! Add some more things to play on, and stop charging adults. PS if you have kids over 5 take them somewhere else they won't have fun. I would like to start off by saying that we have always loved going here, it has always been my saving grace as a single mama of three that is also a breast-feeder as they have a breast-feeding room and I have never had to worry about my children leaving without me. That being said, I had my daughters fifth birthday party here. We have been going for many years and we love it there. A new owner just took over a few days before but we had no idea of this yet. The staff was supposed to help with the party and we never received one bit of help. I had to go and get them every single time I needed something for the party. The staff that were there were very sweet I just feel they did not probably know how to do the party. I bought extras for the party and had to go ask to get those items. They are supposed to parade her back to the room as well, everything that was promised in purchasing the birthday party we did not receive. I went there because of the ad saying I would have help as I am a single mommy of three. I had informed the staff that day that I was very upset that I had paid almost $250 for services I did not receive. They gave me the new owners contact information and this is where it gets a little bit crazy. I am posting the pictures of screenshots of correspondences between her and I as she is honestly the rudest human being I have ever talk to in my life. She promised to issue a partial refund but after nine days when I had not received anything I had messaged her. She got rude with me and eventually refunded me $14. And then today banned me from Itty bitty city for some reason. I needed others to be aware that you will not get what you pay for with a party here. This is the very first birthday party I have ever paid for I'm not done at home and she was very excited about it. The whole situation was very very upsetting but then to learn that this new owner cares nothing about her customers was much more upsetting. I would recommend nobody give their money to this business until a different owner takes over. And I will not stop until I get my money back for the services I did not receive. I do not mind that it was a very last bit of my money that I had to use for that because it was for my baby but I do mind that I did not get anything I paid for by doing that and that it will probably ruin me for buying future parties anywhere else because I will fear of the same thing happening. I am reporting her and going through Eric Schmidt, BBB, FTC, CFPB, Sec of state, and the state's consumer protection after promises of a refund and then her flipping a switch and recanting.but beware of this lady. Also going to better business bureau. It's actually almost more upsetting that she banned children from going to the business because she was upset that I responded to her rudeness, this lady legitimately cares about people 0% and about being right and having authority 100%. I am incredibly sad that the previous owner left. My daughter and I took her 3 year old daughter to play. I e been here before with my other grandchildren who are a little older now and I have to say it's definitely gone way down since the last time I was here. The blocks are in bad shape and need replacing, the felt boards in the back, most of the pieces are missing the Velcro off the back so you can't even create anything without them falling off, some of the water station is not working, and everything is very unorganized. Definitely not worth $11, I wouldn't pay more than $5. Total waste of money and time. My advice is don't bother, if you want your toddler to have a good experience, take them to Nana's Play Place on North Glenstone, they even have a little carousel the kids can ride on and a large sand pit for the kids to play in. And I'll say this, the employees where at Itty-bitty City act like they don't care, there's three of them and they're all behind the counter, ones in her phone. Just a bad experience! read more

I took a group of ten kids here to play, the centers were so spend out and messy we had to spend 10 minutes just to clean up the centers so we could play in them. Also, the boys and girls club was there running around and making a mess of everything. It was fun mind you, but very disorganized and the other kids there made it slightly a unenjoyable experience. My daughter pre-purchased a gift certificate through Groupon for a Christmas gift to her children and their cousins. We made shirts to commemorate the event together. She researched rates to see how much she needed to get the certificate for. Discount or not, definitely not worth the money. Since her purchase, they raised the price and we had to pay extra at the door. 2 toddlers just turned one year old(1 yesterday), one can walk and one crawls, same price as other kids. Increase in price for adults, $3 to $4, over 30% increase. Kids up to 13, increase from $9 to $11, over 20% increase. All in 3 month period. Had to pay the difference and 2 adults and 2 small toddlers stayed in the car and decided to go somewhere else. Other 5 kiddos were bored in less than an hour. Oh and, break any rules, running around, etc, you are kicked out of this over priced establishment. Needless to say............waste of money and won't be back. :( read more

There is a lot for kids to do, but I think toddlers and preschoolers get the most out of it. I took my 2 1/2 year old son and he was very entertained. We stayed 4 hours and he didn't even get to every location. He stayed busy and had a lot of fun, but they seriously need more seating for adults throughout the place. I was on my feet the whole time because he wanted me close (where he could see me and talk to me) and since there wasn't a place to sit, I felt like I was hovering the whole time. We went there and had a good time. About halfway in, the babies caseworker came to pick him up for a visit. It all went downhill after that. I think the owner thought I was a bio mom who had her kids taken. She started harassing us. I had just finished a Starbucks drink and she came up and said why are you drinking that here? Well, when I checked in and paid for the kids, it was on the counter and she never even mentioned. She went on to say that drinks were not allowed. I threw it in the trash. Then my black son was playing with the foam eggs and one accidentally fell out of the carton and hit another little boy but did not hurt him. She went over and yelled at him about throwing eggs and he needed to apologize. I went up and said it was an accident and she said that I needed to start watching my kids. I said, I'm sitting on a bench like everybody else and they are all up here. I told her once again it was an accident and in the middle of my sentence, she turned around and walked off and refused to acknowledge me. I gathered all the kids and we left. read more
