You simply will not find a practice that is better than this one. Dr. Ferguson uses advanced technology to great advantage: he gets brilliant results, whether you're getting a tooth capped, a cavity filled, a cleaning, cosmetic work, etc. When I was a new patient six years ago, I was shocked that I could get a tooth capped in one visit, a cap that fit perfectly first time around and never gave me a moment's discomfort. Speaking of discomfort, if you get nervous, as so many people do, when going to a dental appointment because you're anticipating discomfort and/or pain, you can forget all about that. Dr. Ferguson and his team are masters at keeping their patients pain-free (even the shots are no big deal). I recently had cosmetic work done, which involved six teeth being capped. For years, I had been smiling with my mouth closed or putting my hand to my mouth. I hardly have words for the incredible work Dr. Ferguson did. It has absolutely changed my life. It's really a joy to smile now. My teeth look totally natural and some "gumminess" that bothered me is significantly reduced (I'm not sure how Dr. Ferguson achieved this). The work was finished in two visits. When I went home, after the second visit, my husband said, "Wow, your smile looks beautiful!" In addition to the exemplary dental work at Ferguson Dental Associates, I promise you that you won't find better staff anywhere. The dental assistants are superb; they do not make mistakes. And you won't find more highly-skilled hygienists who honestly will not let you out of the chair, until they're satisfied they've done a perfect job. The staff at the desk are super-competent and super-nice, a pleasure to interact with. In fact, everyone in the practice couldn't be nicer. I was made to feel welcome and comfortable from my first visit. I should add, my husband is also a patient and he feels exactly the same way as I do. Unfortunately, my primary dentist was out of town and although he prescribed antibiotics, the infection was making me feel sick and the pain was ridiculous. One call from my wife and Dr. Ferguson got me in at 7 PM on the Thursday before a holiday weekend. 15 minutes after I got there he had performed a procedure on the tooth and removed the infection (and the pain). He then gave me a way to contact him over the weekend in case the condition recurred. This was all after never having met me before. Dr Ferguson is not just a great dentist, he's a great person. I can't imagine what I'd have done without him.

The issue is finally resolved, and I made an appointment for my daughter two weeks or more ahead of schedule. I called to confirm the appointment, confirm the insurance, and let them know a different family member would be taking her. My family member showed up with my daughter only to be told they wouldn't see her- again because of insurance. When I called to find out what was going on, I asked to speak to the office manager or the person who handled the insurance, which I know to be a woman. Instead, after some whispering the young man who answered the phone came back on claiming to be said person. I was then told that someone tried to contact me and cancel the appointment but my mailbox was full. There were NO MISSED CALLS of any kind, my voicemail box WAS NOT FULL, and even if that were the case there is a secondary number and email to reach me. Smile Express knew full well their contract with HBCBS would be ending September 1, and my appointment was scheduled for September 2. Their attempt to contact me was on August 29th. I would not recommend Dr Gambino…read more She advised me to have a crown fitted on a tooth that wasn't causing any problems to avoid needing root canal treatment in the future (it had a couple of fillings but was fine). She made it sound like an excellent preventative measure, especially given the tough time I'd had with a surprise root canal issue previously. She failed to mention the procedure for a crown could mean it could cause root canal work being necessary! There is no way I would've agreed to that gamble. While the crown was being made I had a cap on my tooth for two weeks and there was a horrible amount of sensitivity. When I visited her and told her she basically said, "Oooops, you probably need root canal treatment, I can recommend someone to visit for that". I was furious. It genuinely made me wonder if she gets a kick-back from creating issues and then referring patients to this endodontist. I think the patient's best interests should come first. The potential for my out of pocket expenses leaped from $950 to $3,000 because of her not giving me the entire information to make an informed decision. She is handling the resolution of the issue poorly too. Prior to that I had liked her dentistry, although I wouldn't describe her as a warm or compassionate person. I do not have faith in her now so go to Dr O'Bowosky Junior on South Fullerton Avenue instead. He seems very gentle, caring and kind. He isn't sales-y or money-hungry.
