I do not often cook Indian food, but for basic curry dishes, this is a decent place to shop for spices and frozen food. I like getting hot food to go from the small hot food display case by the cash register. There aren't a lot of options, usually fried snacks like samosa, potato fritters, and paneer pakora. The store also sells lots of Indian desserts and sweets that can be found by the cash register or in the back of the store in the freezers. The owner is friendly. Bring cash because there is a discount if you pay in cash instead of plastic.

We didn't need anything particular so we just started browsing the contents of various aisles. They have a good selection of Indian foods. The store was clean and well laid out and didn't have any disagreeable odors sometimes encountered in smaller ethnic grocery stores. Also, when we walked around inside, it turned out to be bigger than we initially thought. We then discovered that we actually did need something and found Brown Basmati Rice at a reasonable price, so we bought one. And the lady who rang us up couldn't have been nicer. An all-around pleasant experience. We will be back whenever we are looking for Indian grocery items!

The 70% dark chocolate is some of the best you will ever try! Our host and owner is so lovely, she was patient with the beginner questions and offered nothing but her extensive knowledge which is invaluable. A small tight production, you can see the care and attention to detail. They are the only chocolate make in the greater Detroit area, most others are chocolatiers who fashion their good from premade chocolates that are laden with sugar. With Dwaar you will taste the notes of the chocolate. And they should sell those roasted cacao seeds, they are delis and addictive! For high quality dark search them out!

Tons of dried beans are imported to Michigan, which is then roasted, shells removed, grind, mixed and tempered to shape as a bar, bonbon and other holiday shapes. Each bar individual bar is priced a bit higher than the commercial chocolate late because DWAAR chocolate has a higher percentage of cocoa and much darker in color. The chocolate maker / owner of DWAAR chocolate is very passionate about her product. Be assured the she creates the highest quality of dark chocolate you can find only Michigan. The owner received an award and was featured in magazines, online and tv. I wish in the near future she will be able to mass produce and supply chocolate discs that can be melted and used as coating in fruits, chips, apples and pretzels. Must try the so-called sipping chocolate which is 100% dark.
