It's New To Me is... an experience. If you're in a time crunch, this is not the place to stop and shop. The store has thousands of pieces, and it is quite cluttered so you'll have to move through it with caution. While they do have a solid selection of antiques, they are typically overpriced in my experience. They also have some more modern pieces, which are almost always overpriced. For example: we recently found a set of faux mother of pearl flatware for a whopping $75. If you have the time, stop by, but be prepared to overpay. read more

I was there with your employee who showed me the correspondence/text message with the owner of the set and she was willing to sell 4 chairs and separate the set. Your employee even offered to let me take one home to see if they matched my table. Which, hindsight I should have done. So basically you are calling me and your employee a liar. I gave them about 20 items to sell for me. I have only received paymenton two. When I went through the store to see if my items were still there, hardly any were there which means they were sold. I do not understand the disconnect here. I've called several times asking if things have sold And I get different responses. I'm only looking for what's fair. It seems like a great place to buy, but to sell it's very suspect. read more

I was in there yesterday and it is a risk to your life. I have consigned a few things over the years since it opened. They have lost a custom ottoman I consigned. (She said she thought she gave to the Playhouse, never asking me.) The store is filthy dirty, unorganized, their bookkeeping is very poor. The one woman working could not access the computer and she was rather frazzled by the bags of stuff (like it was Goodwill) blocking the entrance path. I only have one thing consigned there, I did not see it yesterday. I asked the woman working about this set of china, she could not help me, but took my name and phone number. I have yet to hear from anyone. I would bet I never get them back or get paid! What a mess! read more

I've bought and consigned with them-buying is hit or miss, which is to be expected in a consignment shop. However, it's extremely un-organized to the point of almost being dangerous. It looks like a hoarders house. On the consigning side of things, I brought a ton of stuff in and never received payment for half of it....the book keeping is hit or miss, she might write your things down in a log book or she might not, depends on the day I guess. My mistake was not keeping track of things and making sure she logged them in...I guess I didn't want to appear rude and look like I was trying to tell her how to run her business as she should know. If you are going to consign, make sure you take pictures of everything and make sure she logs them in. read more

found a beautiful couch, rather high priced, but I really liked it, accent pillows came with it. the pillows had a matching tag, but not priced. Told they went with the couch, Couch delivered...no accent pillows, went back next day to pick them up, FOUND THEM PRICED TO SELL, she decided to price them, and sell them separately. Had a friend with me a few days after I had pd. for it, and she also noticed the pillows were not priced. I will NEVER go back, she had a week to get back to me on this to make it good, she did not, not even to give me her explanation.. MY ADVICE IS WHEN YOU PAY FOR SOMETHING GET IT IN WRITING, AS IT CAN CHANGE IF YOU DON'T. Not really as disappointed about the pillows, as the sneakiness of the owner. All for 38.00. Would not recommend consigning with this shop, but it's a fine store if you want to buy there; they have some nice things. But they take no responsibility if your possessions get broken, stolen, and if the price tag w/ your number on it happens to fall off your item and they don't remember who it belongs to, you probably won't get paid if it sells, or it will get donated, even if your contract specifically states that you don't want your stuff donated. And if you ask about your stuff, the staff gets bent out of shape. If you don't really care whether or not they pay you, I guess it's ok to consign there; your stuff will probably sell. read more

It may be a case of mini-hoarding, but It's New To Me has TONS of stuff! I'm a fan! I have found so many treasures over the past few years! Rugs, furniture, pillows... I've bought it all over time and gotten tons of compliments on my style. They always have new stuff and they seem to have a good reputation in the area because they're always overflowing with merchandise. My only negative is that I get frustrated when the artwork isn't stored very well and consequently gets scratched up. read more

I have had great experiences at It's New To Me, both as a consignor and customer! When you drop your things off, the staff reviews your item and discusses what they think is a fair price. I've sold many thing at the store and am always very happy with the 50% consignment split. The staff is very fair and honest and I completely trust them with my items, including high end furniture. As a customer, this is a very fun store to shop. It seems you could visit every day and never see the same thing twice! The options are endless, unique, in good shape! Store is crammed full of all kinds of household items, but I don't think they quite grasp that these things are USED & not in good condition. Most things were scratched or worn looking. $600 for an faded love seat? I don't really care that it belonged to a college football coach. This is the best place in all of Western PA for finding treasures! The staff is incredibly friendly and the merchandise is top notch. Be prepared to spend some time in the store, the volume of stuff is unreal. I highly recommend if you are looking for a true consignment shop! read more
