DO NOT DO IT!!!! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN! They are not truthful about their fees. It is a $1900 "non-refundable" interview fee and $285 monthly fee. I paid $2,185 to not go on one date. The worst dates I have ever had period. A parade of the most socially awkward broken men you will even have the misfortune of meeting. The first date I was ghosted, the guy was a no show. The second date was a convicted felon. The third had horrendous BO and a disability. One guy was nice but was a Mr. Mom with 4 small kids and obviously didn't have the time to date. The last one was terribly socially awkward and just got up quite rudely and left me sitting there. The waiter was horrified. I explained it was a terrible dating service and they are all like that. This company is a disgrace and hopefully won't be in business much longer. Don't be fooled. Don't kid yourself. You deserve better ladies. Oh, and this is dates spaced out very few and far between over a year - about 1 date every 3 months. Not what they promise at all. This company and their claims are a complete scam! I was not buying into their story and was extremely hesitant, so the "sales" guy used a bait/switch on me by telling me about this perfect match for me that he couldn't wait to set me up with. Then I joined, wasted SO much money, only to find out that match didn't even exist. I've paid monthly fees since joining, have gone on 1 date in 3 months. I've had people put in front of me that don't fit the profile of what I defined/described AT ALL. I've also asked to speak to management, then all of a sudden the matchmaker is the manager. This "service" is such a waste of money. They will set you up with anyone to fulfill their end of the contract, regardless of your stated preferences. My first match was a disaster - our education levels were widely disparate and the match had children full time in the home even though I stated I did not want to date anyone with children. After several complaints and unsuccessful attempts to speak with customer service or a manager, I stupidly let the service convince me that their next match would be better. No such luck - they again ignored my preferences and had me waste my time meeting a person with whom I had nothing in common. (When pressed, the IJL folks told me that we both "like to watch tv".) When my third date was as bad as the first two, I called it quits. Unfortunately, they know their service is bad and will not work with you to get even a partial refund. read more

I do not recommend this service to anyone. On my initial phone call, I was assured of the following objective criteria: men taller than myself (5'11) with college degrees and between the ages of 32-40. Knowing that information I paid $1000 for a membership. I went on a total of two dates- both of which the men were shorter and above the age of 40. I spoke with supervisors, sent letters via certified mail, and sent emails to never be acknowledged. I've been a member for around a year and have found my matches to be way off. I'm being matched with older men. I believe I've also met the 50 year old virgin. Nice people; but, they don't follow through on the personal interviews to truly match you with common interests and lifestyles. I am a well accomplished, active woman who has a "good look." I'm suspecting they take on many men who struggle finding a date and the pool of men more well suited is small. read more

I had a terrible experience with IJL and do not recommend them to anyone. I was miss led by the sales person, I was told I could put my account on hold as needed and would not incur any additional costs while the account was in that status but that was not true. The number of matches I was told i would get was also later disputed and the sales person responded that was not her area, I guess their people are not required to know what services they are selling. Ultimately the matches I received were not really consistent with the criteria i requested in pretty significant areas such as wanting to have children. Calls and emails were ignored, overall very expensive and disappointing - you definitely don't get the level of service you pay for. read more
