Pretty much nothing has a price listed on it, so it's always a surprise when you get to the register, and the surprise is unpleasant because the price is high. Rude customer service / overpriced alcohol Bought seltzer from the store. After checking out my friend texted me that he already picked up some cases for the party. 2 min later I came back to the store and asked to return the product. Owner said "You can return the product unless there is something wrong with it and it's covid man" he said it's store policy and the law. I asked him to provide the law he failed to do so. After arguing for couple minutes he said he would call the cops if I didn't stepped away. I told him to do so. Eventually he refunded after there was a person waiting to checkout. There is no excuse for bad attitude. If you enjoy bad customer attitude and overpriced alchol this place is for you. read more

So if you want a wide selection of beers this is the place. Despite the awesome selection, this place is a bit overpriced. But one thing I like about it is that they have a discount area for beers that are out of season. For example I paid $6 for a pecan porter that was out of season. So theres that. The staff was nice and seemed knowledgeable about beers more so than the Ellsworth location. Either way if I missed an out of season beer, this may be the place to hit up. read more

Now I don't enjoy being asked to go in the back room, and then having to field questions about why I need to leave. They offer a decent selection. The prices are better than some other bottle shops, particularly the mix-and-match bottles. Obviously, the prices are significantly more than Giant Eagle Market District, with a slightly better selection, depending on location. They have some harder to get bottles, such as Dogfish World Wide Stout, but expect to pay over double the retail price. The on-sale section is the real gem, where you can get out of season/sitting beers for a great price. You won't want most beers that are past their freshness date, like IPAs, but a stout or high ABV that has been sitting can actually taste better a year later. The worst aspect of this place is the register. The prices don't always match up, and some beers don't even have a price on them. I've been here on several occasions and they tried to overcharge me TWICE. You have to keep an eye on the prices as they are rung up, and KNOW what they should be. Your receipt only has the total of the transaction and not the prices of the individual items, so many people may be getting screwed over and not even realize it. Another bad experience was when one of the guys followed me in the store while I was trying to look up reviews of some of the beer. If they improve the customer service and change the way they check you out at the end, I will revisit my review. read more

I never used to check expiration dates but after reading some of other reviews of this place, I decided to start. I was really surprised to find multiple year old beer here being sold at full prices. A lot of the beer I've purchased here has not tasted right and I think this is probably the reason why. Management is not interested in hearing about this and clearly is selling this beer intentionally. There are so many amazing local breweries in pittsburgh which presumably would bring fresh beer to this place which makes it even more surprising. I will not be coming back here and suggest going a block up or down the street to the pizza places or the delis which sell cheaper fresher beer. read more

Brand new, right at the end of Murray. Long hours and great selection. There are a couple of other locations- one in Oakland and one on Ellsworth- but this one is the biggest. Still getting their legs under them, I think, but we're big fans! read more

I went to get some bud light after work and the cashier asked to see my ID, he looked at it for 2 seconds and said "this is a fake id". When I told him it was not and that I'm from Ohio, he tried to break it and told me he was going to call the cops. He never even bothered to scan it or anything. read more

I came to check out this beer distributor just to see how it compares price wise to picking up a 6 pack from a local pizza place. Overall, it didn't seem to live up to some of the horrible review I read. It wasn't dirty and the cashier was nice. As for variety, you have so many more choices than what you would get from a local pizza place. They had six packs, single beers, and also larger packages of beer and it looked like kegs too. They also had tons of stuff refrigerated. If you are looking for a slightly less popular beer, then you might find it here. As for prices, I was not impressed. When it comes to a standard beer six pack they are not any cheaper than a pizza place, or if they are it's by less than a dollar based on the prices I could read. Also, they didn't have prices for everything listed, only on some packs. Some of the labels were handwritten too. So, not a terrible place if you want a single beer or or less popular six pack, but for your standard fair, I would just hit one of the local pizza places. read more

Good selection at a higher end price. That being said I will never come back here after one of the cashiers very inappropriately hit on my girlfriend after she asked him to stop repeatedly. The owner, Ram, originally fired the employee in question, who claimed to have been drunk on the job, when I showed him the $23 in merchandise he gave away to try to get my girlfriend to go out with him. Inexplicably the employee is now back in the store. If you are female I would avoid this business, they do not respect you as a customer. read more

The dude has sick beer knowledge and a fantastic selection, but once I started paying closer attention to the prices, I realized I was being had. The dealbreaker for me was the FreeFlow IPA, he was selling twelve packs for $28 with a straight face. These are available down the street for $18. I stopped here to grab some beer for the place we were staying at in Pittsburgh. I really liked being able to grab a variety of singles. The guy behind the counter was really friendly, was knowledgeable about different brewing styles and breweries and all of his suggestions ended up being good. We chatted a bit and I was told there used to be an employee there that gave them a bad reputation and he was fired. During our stay I also tried some of the local breweries he suggested, which were decent. I came back one more time before we left to grab a few more bottles and had a good experience the second time as well. Their beer that's on sale is expired. When they sold it to me, I asked if it was last season and they said that it was just a month or so old. The guy gave me this whole spiel that they just get so much beer in that they have specials. It's May, and the beer said best before October on the bottle- which means that it's much older than last season. Of course, I didn't notice the best before date until I got home because I believed the guy working there. The beer tasted old and skunked! When I took it back, the guy working there was rude and had a bad attitude. He just exchanged it instead of offering a refund or discount. I will never go back. Their beer is overpriced anyway! I love the selection of expired beer here. Domestic, Imported - it's all rotten. I was just offered some lovely, chilled 6-month expired Sam Adams that could strip the paint off a car. Dogg'n It has a large selection of beers, and most importantly is located in the middle of squirrel hill. The only other comparable bottle shop in the area is Mineo's. I forget what was here before this bottle shop sprung up, but whatever it was, good riddance! Now if only we could get a distributor in this neighborhood. read more

Check the dates. You pay for convenience which is fine. Many of the beers are old. If there isn't a date on the bottle don't buy it. I was trying some beers and thought they were just crappy beers. Turns out they were all expired. If you know the date, you are good and this is a fine 6 pack shop. No date = no purchase. read more

Only place in Squirrel Hill you can buy beer after 9PM. Decent selection of beer, but not all that well organized. What is bad about this place is the cashier. They will literally try to break your ID by bending it in half. The only place I've ever seen do this. Some state IDs can take it, but they bend them way more than they actually are supposed to (literally 180 degrees). Just look at the ID or scan it, stop being idiots. read more

Check enjoy or best by date on bottle before you pay it... They are selling expired bottle beer.. I purchased six packs of New belgium Ranger(IPA) and I am realized it was two months expired after drinking second bottle. I visited there next day and requst to replace remained 4 bottles to fresh one but they denied it...They said " It's just enjoy date..not expiry date... I checked google and enjoy or best by date is same mean with expiration date. I also checked their refrigerator and all same packs are still before the enjoy by date. I guess that they putted expired one at front because most people don't check these date. I strongly request and then finally they replaced 4 to fresh...I wasted my time and am not comfortable with them...They should replaced immediately without anything. Just think that beer is also same with milk. I think that They are not honest seller..Remember that Enjoy By date means Fresh Beer to You! read more
