If you ever visit Ithaca via air, chances are you'll stop at Syracuse airport instead of flying directly into the city. So how do you get from Syracuse to Ithaca (and back) if you don't have a car? That's where Ithaca Airline Limousine comes in! Call (800) 273-9197 to make reservations. Make them at least 48 hrs in advanced. 24 hrs ahead cancellation is allowed. They run 7 days a week at selection departure times. See their site for more info. From Syracuse to Ithaca (or reverse) is $70 each way or $105 round trip. Credit cards are accepted! To Ithaca, they will take you from the airport to your door, unless your destination is Cornell. If that is the case, they have designated North and West campus drop off points. This service is pricey but I found it to be more dependable than the bus service offered directly by Cornell. I had booked Cornell's bus service several months in advance, and I took the options which worked best with my flights from Syracuse. A week before my flight, they decided to cancel my bus because they felt like there weren't enough people on it to make it worthwhile. That forced me to look for another option to get to Syracuse while dealing with finals and projects. I called ticketing services to get my refund and they seemed really hesitant to speak to me. Since I couldn't find a ride, and a taxi would have been too costly, I decided to go with the Airport Limo. It's significantly more expensive than Cornell's bus but I found their service to be much better. I called them and they made it really easy to book a ride, and you can pay in cash when you get picked up. They also give you a courtesy call in the morning to let you know how soon they'll be at your stop (10-15 minutes before they arrive), which was pretty nice since I was getting picked up at 7am. They also offer more time options than Cornell's service so you may find one that works better for your flights. I still had my return ticket from Syracuse with the Cornell bus so I was able to see the differences. It's basically the same bus ride but the airport limo has much nicer staff checking you in and handling your luggage. Overall, I'd recommend you get the airport limo if you have early flights. It sounds like Cornell isn't afraid to just cancel on you at the last minute if they don't find a certain bus to be profitable enough, but the airport limo seems willing to work at any time. read more

I was given zero information for my shuttle from Syracuse Airport to Ithaca other than "look for your shuttle when you land." When I finally got my shuttle, the driver said it was my fault for going to the wrong exit. I am currently taking my shuttle back to Syracuse. The driver sexually harassed me within 30 seconds of getting in the vehicle. The van smells awful, and his driving is scary at best. He has come within 10 feet of hitting two cars and has hydroplaned. I don't feel safe with IAL. read more

Horrible. Do not use. Tried once. Driver showed up over 30 minutes late and then took over 30 minutes longer than we were told to get to Syracuse airport. How do you miss times like this at 3:30AM? I was scheduled to take the shuttle from the Syracuse Amtrak station to Cornell last week but due to a train derailment my train was 13 hours late. The team at Ithaca Limo was unbelievably helpful. They tracked the progress of my train, kept in touch by phone, and offered to drive me to Ithaca any time during the night to help me out. I can't say enough about them. We finally gave up on transport for the late arrival and instead they sent a town car to pick me up early the next morning (for no additional cost) in Syracuse and had me at Cornell by 9:30. They were all just wonderful and were determined to get me to Cornell where my 96 year old mother was being honored. I arrived a day late but in time to enjoy some of the festivities. They are wonderful people and provide the best service!!! My thanks and gratitude to them all! read more

The Ithaca Airline Limousine company promises to "track" airline flights so that a delayed flight will still be met. They even go through the motion of taking the passenger's cell phone so that they contact the passenger & reassure them that they will still get home even if their flight is running a little late. It is all a farce. My daughter's flight from Chicago back to Syracuse was delayed by 45 minutes during severe weather across the midwest & northeast, and the Limo company did not wait for her. The "scheduled" Limo departure from Syracuse Airport was 10:00P, and my daughter's delayed flight arrived at 10:25P--literally only 25 minutes later. Too bad-- the Limo left without her--intentionally. She was told that she would have to wait at Syracuse Airport until 3:00AM for the next "scheduled" limousine back to Ithaca. This was not a rational decision on the part of Ithaca Airline Limousine--refusing to wait an extra 25 minutes to take a young woman back to Ithaca versus telling her to sit in the airport for 5 HOURS overnight. Be advised that this company makes misleading statements about tracking flight information so as to always meet their customers' flights to get them home. Find another service! read more

Outrageously bad. -- Frequently late, -- always rude, -- unjustifiably expensive. You are always better off renting a car! Example: * the current one-way fee they charge from Ithaca to Syracuse is $80 (they also charge extra $5 for each piece of luggage after the first); * one-way car rental from Avis (ITH to SYR): around $50. The latter also takes less time (1hour instead of 1.5). Don't use Ithaca Airline Limo ! (unless you enjoy paying $$$$ for an inferior service) P.S. I have already submitted this review in the past, but they somehow succeeded in convincing yelp to remove it. I am not an irate competitor. The above is written based on 7 years of experience in living in /flying from Ithaca. Both shuttles & taxi service here are outrageously & unapologetically bad (since they are monopolies). read more

I was having a dire situation trying to get my friend a ride to the airport. I called this company and a man answered the phone and said that he would be there in 10 mins and that it would cost $24. Thinking we had secured a ride, we no longer called any more cab companies. 20 mins had gone by and no one had shown or would answer the telephone. Rude and expensive. A customer service trip into the "I don't care" dark ages. A local monopoly that leaves thousands on the table by the way they treat their customers/prospects. After some initial uses, we've sought out alternatives whenever possible. Sadly for them, it doesn't have to be that way. Avoid if you can. Abide if you must. read more

I try not to leave these if I'm not directly involved however while driving through Cortland today one of their drivers cut me off and then drove erratically, when I had a chance to safely pass the driver, he sped up trying not to let me get around him. He kept beeping his horn at me and making obscene guestures. read more

Perhaps this company had better staff in the past, but when I used their service recently, the person I spoke on the phone to schedule my ride was very rude and unhelpful. It was my first time using this company, so I asked her two simple questions: 1) how long does it take to get from Cornell to the Syracuse airport and 2) do you prefer that I pay in cash later or pay now using my card. I was floored when she replied, "it's not my fault you don't know that crap" and didn't answer my questions. I responded with "Excuse me - what is the problem here? Why are you giving me attitude? Have I ever done or said anything offensive to you? Look, I get you're having a bad day, but don't take it out on me." And then she calmed down, but never apologized. The bus was also really dirty and smelled really bad. And the driver almost forgot to drop me off at the train station! Everyone got off at the airport stop, and he would have returned to Ithaca had I not asked. I don't recommend using this company's service. I actually created an Yelp account and am writing my first review here because I really think people should know how bad this company is before paying $85 for a ride. read more

This service saved us twice now. The first time was, after a major east coast storm when we were very smug because our flight was not scheduled until 3 days AFTER the storm went through... suddenly all the flights were canceled anyway to make room for the people whose flights had been canceled (???) and thus our reservations with the Cornell shuttle-bus were forfeited as well. These people calmly steered us through our moment of panic, picked up our daughter at SYR and delivered her safely back to the Ivy Kingdom. The second time was less panicky because we knew about this service and thus when my daughter's scheduled return flight turned out to be arriving at midnight instead of noon, we were rescued again by these very fine people. Our daughter still hasn't experienced the Cornell shuttle-bus to or from the Syracuse Airport. And why bother? This service is reliable and professional! read more

I had scheduled a ride with Ithaca airline limo to be picked up from Syracuse airport. I called them hours before they were supposed to pick me up letting them know that my connecting flight was delayed and I would not make it in time for the ride. I was scheduled for the 1am, the next one wasn't until 5am, so I told them I would find a different way home. They decide to put me on the roster for the 5am anyway. When I wasn't there to be picked up, they proceeded to charge my card the $85. I noticed this a couple of days later and it has taken me TWO WEEKS to finally get my money back. Several people I dealt with on the phone were rude and accusatory, they even said they needed to speak with the driver to confirm my story. When they finally agreed to give me a refund without charging me a $25 cancellation fee (which no one ever mentioned to me before) they told me I've been place on a "no ride" list. That's fine, because I would never attempt to use this service again. It seems that their office is very disorganized and no one was able to issue a refund except for the bookkeeper, who apparently is only there once a week. Total pain in the butt! read more

Awful awful awful company. Avoid at all costs. I scheduled a roundtrip to Syracuse for business purposes. First they were 30min late to pick me up. Then, while I being driven back to my city, this rude, company woman called me to interrogate me about what I did during my trip. She kept saying, "did you go (some place)? were you (some activity) using an extremely accusatory tone. When I told her that what I do with my personal time was none of her business, she insulted me and hang up on me. Worst customer service ever! I later learned that they apparently made some mistake with my reservation, and the woman was trying to determine how I had spent my time to see if she could charge me more for the service. However, instead of calling and asking politely like you would expect a normal company to do, this woman just blew up on me. I paid for a roundtrip with two specific pickup times. I was ready and on time for both trips. I paid upfront. I don't know what kind of mess they made with my reservation, but that doesn't give them the right to insult a customer over the phone. The drivers themselves are great, but the office people are the worst. AVOID! read more
