This small city park down by the river helped me start out on my journey to living on the road full time. It was a nice FREE spot in Montana on the outskirts of the small town of Columbus.
The park is free & on a donation basis for upkeep. The rules are simple common courtesy & they allow for up to 10 days of camping in marked campsites. No reservations taken/needed. First come-first serve.
There are port-a-johns & dumpsters available.
There are a good amount of sites, most are good for small trailers & van campers with a handful of pull throughs.
No other amenities are provided. Some mention water, but I haven't explored enough to find it (or trust it for drinking for that matter).
You're right along the Riverside with nature abound everywhere.
The only downside really was the traffic & crazy local teenagers zooming through the gravel road on the weekend.
Otherwise, this is a solid spot for those looking for a free site near civilization. read more
