I sat down and after a few minutes I believe the owner asked if I had a appointment which I didn't. He said something towards the back of the room and a gentleman came to a chair and had me sit down. The gentleman started speaking Spanish and the owner had to translate and ask what I was looking for. Told him 2- 3 inches on the side and about a quarter inch off the top. Owner also asked about my side burns which I said yes assuming thay meant to blend them with my beard. Now had the barber followed the directions I wouldn't be as upset. Instead the ​took his own creative approach. My side burns are half shaved off creating a clear gap between my beard and side burn. The back of my head is butchered with varying lengths, lastly I comb my hair back for some reason the barber decided to shave half my head on one side shorter and create this line on time of my head so I could comb my hair to one side. Once he showed me the mirror there wasn't much I could do and honestly wasn't going to create a scene especially since I already felt unwanted. I got up and could have just walked out as no one seemed to care if I paid. Late to work, stuck behind a train, stepped in a puddle, you get the gist. One way to make my day better is by getting a fresh haircut. Feels sort of like pressing reset on my day. I had never been to the barber lounge but it was near my work and I wanted to give it a try. The first time I tried to go in they were all booked but this time I was able to easily make an appointment with Carlos. I really appreciated his professionalism. Never met him before but he made me feel as if I had been coming to that shop for years. Customer service is something I greatly value and Carlos had some of the best I had ever seen. He actually took his time and didn't rush through my haircut just so he could get someone else in his chair. Of course customer service is only worth it when the skill and quality of the cut are on par with it. Without a doubt this barbershop has both. Also great is that your first time haircut I think is discounted and they accept card! Anyone who frequents barbershops knows how annoying it can be to have to pull out cash before every trip. I've seen many shops that define beard trim as using an electric razor that tend to be afraid to model a nice beard, but not here. A few others would rather I keep a Jesus-ish beard. Meanwhile, the location is full of style. Sam (owner/barber) is a musician, so you're not going to be waiting and listening to rolling Stones while you wait. Not necessarily tv or country music. This actually matters to me. All in all, $30 for a barber cut I find well worth it, more than any barber I've been to.
