Friendly, but at the same time efficient. Never had a long wait, even when the restaurant has been full (which often happens in the evenings - worth booking). They are accomodating and helpful people, and they serve well and attentively but not intrusively. The food is particularly good because there are some unusual, imaginative recipes and they really work. I can particularly recommend the bacon and banana pizza - yes, really! - which is a combination I found startlingly good, and a real discovery. There are mouth watering vegetarian options on the menu too - not an afterthought, these dishes prompt a confirmed carnivore to consider the vegetarian option by choice from time to time. Cakes, as mentioned by other reviewers, are really good English tea-house style cakes; there are other desserts available, and I'd say there are so many good things on the menu to try - starters, mains, and sweets - that you should count on coming back several times for more.

Food is always consistently nice and for the price you can't really complain. We came here a few weeks ago and the staff were so lovely with our 22 month old son, they gave him some colouring pencils and kept coming by to talk to him. Bottelinos is good food at a really reasonable price!

What you get is a great value for money Italian restaurant with excellent service. I wouldn't call it fine dining but it's not trying to be and you can not go wrong for the price. The last time I went was a Tuesday night and the fact that it was tricky to find a table for 4 of us at 6:30pm on a Tuesday speaks volumes for how popular it is. We did have to wait a little while for food on that occasion but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt judging by the good service normally received and how busy it was that night. Food wise you can expect all of the usual suspects on the Italian menu along with fish and steak which as previously mentioned are all very reasonable in price. La Piaza 1 also appears to cater well for kids judging by the number of family's eating there. All in all, its a great value restaurant if you fancy a last minute bite to eat out or i'd also recommend it as a good starting point to eat before hitting a pub or 2 on the weekend.

It is a shame the place in on Bedminster parade (although there is a very nice city centre branch too), a bit of a run down area without much going for it. The customers were few & far between when I visited and I worry that they just don't attract the right clientele when they're situated next to Asda. Luckily, you can forget where you are once inside (and relaxing with a big bowl of tagliatelle and a glass of chianti!) They specialise in delicious chicken and fish dishes, as well as traditional Italian veal recipes (I won't touch the stuff myself, but that's just personal ethics). I ate breaded mozzarella for starters (unbelievably yummy) and pollo alla diavolo for mains (had to point at the menu for that one) - chicken breast served in a spicy onion, tomato, mushroom and chilli sauce.
