I did not have a great experience with Southern Sky Painting. Bob makes it sound like they do…read more"meticulous" work, but they don't. Also added on extra charges at the end ($900), even after clarifying everything before the work was performed. Overall, work was decent, but I can't recommend based on character and price gouging at the end. They painted the entire interior and exterior of the house. I have painted professionally, and I worked along-side the crew part of the time and was able to point out many other things along the way, that probably wouldn't have been done if I wasn't there. Here is a list of issues we had: Exterior: Did not properly scrape loose paint and fill cracks (partially fixed) Missed painting a board on soffit Painted gate wrong color (did fix) Had to go back and re-roll because of lines (did fix) Overspray in a few areas Sand painted into the front door Paint drips around the house Interior: Overspray onto floors and cabinets Paint drips on floor throughout Missed entire sections of wall Did not paint ceiling in 2 closets (was on contract) Did not perform work that he verbally agreed to but didn't want to write into the contract Paint on door handles and outlets Biggest issue was add-on prices and failure to stick with their word. Then, when the job was "done" would not respond to phone calls. Except for billing, when he tried twist contract wording to justify huge add on costs. I can't work with or recommend people like that.

Beware when someone sounds too good to be true. The Owner himself came out to give us a quote…read more However, he didn't introduce himself as the owner. It wasn't until I looked up the company when I started having issues from the start. The price quoted did not include my windows or patio/ screened area. So when I began questioning why, he decided to paint the window trim and screens. Which they bent ALL of them and ended up over spraying the black trim of the windows and caused the windows to be painted shut. So in the beautiful cool days, I can't enjoy opening my windows for fresh air. The job was constantly being delayed, working when it was going to rain while trying to do an exterior Paint job. Needless to say, what happens when you paint and it rains? Water marks. He sent his guy back over and over to fix and still they couldn't get it right. We had to settle with a small deduction in the price we paid and forced to fix it ourselves. When we looked at the paint can to get the right paint we noticed on the sticker that it was NOT the right paint for our home. It clearly stated not for vinyl and he ignored it. When I informed him his response, that's what my neighbors are using. I'm sorry, how would you know that? And I'm not my neighbor. It's been a few months and the paint is fading away for an overpriced job. There are SO many unprofessional details of this job that I don't have the time to express. Moral of my experience- DO NOT HIRE HIM.
