The facilty itself is fine. It is a budget pick. But they do raise your rate upwards of 40% within the first few months. Really crappy business strategy that seems only to drive down customer satisfaction. Just tell us the truth upfront. read more

DO NOT rent a storage space here! I have been there for less than 2 years and they've raised the rent twice. The first increase came 1 month after I moved in. I'm not sure what they're using the extra money for considering the roads around the units are horribly maintained. Huge potholes everywhere. And God-forbid you want to cancel. No one is in the rental office to give notice; no one responds to online messages that you're giving notice; no one has responded to phone messages. This has been a HORRIBLE experience. read more

Don't rent a storage unit from them. They keep calling you and harassing you that they didn't get their rent. I had sent them a payment in November and they kept calling me saying they didn't get it and they called me again today saying I had insufficient funds in my checking. I do online banking. I had stopped payments twice because of them. They think that somebody doesn't know what they have in their checking. They don't know what they're doing. They charge you a fee. They like to argue with you. read more

Do not use. Prices shown online are just to get you to use them over others in the area. They will raise the rate twice within the first year and every year after that, and not a small raise either. This place is the worst! I've rented many storage units in my time and never had a single issue with something as simple as self storage. Here are the many issues I ran into with this location: 1: The reviewer John is correct. The gate is often broken at this location so they will leave it up. Upon leaving the keypad went defective and when ever you use it, it would shock you. 2: They will raise your rate after 1 year and its a decent amount, mine went up $40 for a 20X20. Happy Anniversary! - I moved all my stuff to another location for 6 more months. Good job iStorage.. 3: If you are ever late on a payment more than 2 -3 days this place will stalker call you, A LOT. Its very very annoying. I could see doing this past 30 days but 2-3 days late, corp rules are ruining you. 4: I could not get in 1 day do the system not recognizing my code. The employee (a young male) had left for lunch and locked the front door with out a note. I noticed as I was leaving he was walking in with a Mc Ds bag. I got though to customer service and explained the issue and they reset my code. 5: If you decide to move out on the last day of the month and use the website log in and select move out, it will not count after 8 PM. I moved out about 9PM the link did not work so I called and left a VM to the location and asked to confirm the following day I will not be charged. No one ever called back after 2 more voice mails I left the following days. 6: I had to deal with iStorages main customer service number for most everything. Since the location would not call me back to confirm move out they gave me the regional mangers number. Of course I called her and got her VM. She called back a few days later and said she would set my my out date for the last day of the month, Wrong. 4 weeks later I get a collections letter for another months rent. Why even have a regional manager when nothing goes correct at this location. So if you want to deal with a lot of hassles over something as simple as storage go to this place. read more

used I-storage, the ceiling leaked one panel came down, ruined my clothes and some of my framed paintings, did not compensate for anything. Had my things stored there for around 1-1/2 years. Please use any other storage place around. read more

I just rented a 10x10 here at this location and was pleasantly surprised at the excellent customer service. These people acted as if they were excited about me being there. Not alot of that around anymore. The prices for their storage units are very competitive and well kept. I left there with a good feeling that i did the right thing by pulling in there. What i liked the most was how they made you feel. WELCOMED. Great job guys. We need more people like you in this area running these businesses. It is very important how people make you feel , and you certainly have my vote. Will recommend others. i am in about 4 or 5 homes a day. I will be the first one to try and give an honest review of this 5 star rated place (what a joke the past reviews are - must be from employees). If I could give zero stars i would. I am a first time customer to renting one of these things, and this is the first place I am trying. It seemed close and convenient, and is something i set up very short term for my college daughter's items that came back from school. First, the folks at the front counter and in the phone are rude, and "very matter of fact" about just about everything....no customer service skills, barely audible, and know that have a service that is in demand and treat everyone like they are doing you a favor. Secondly, sometimes the gate for access works, and sometimes it doesn't.....Its pot luck. On two occasions, I have had to call and for assistance and have them fix something with the software or receiver for this to operate properly. They need a new system or updated equipment. Third, I asked to be put on an automatic renewal prepaid for 3 months for the summer, until my daughter heads back to school. Apparently, there was some foul up, I was not on a renewal and in the last month of this month to month contract I was charged HUGE late fees (more than 50% of the cost of the rental in itself). I called just a few days after the end of the month after receiving about one phone call as a reminder, but my respectful request to have this removed or waved was laughed at. Last, this is not a very safe area AT ALL. There are two seedy bars within about 50 yards, and a trucker stop. One of the nights I was waiting for the gate to be fixed, I was approached by a visibly drunk dude that wanted to know if I had a few bucks for the "bus" (apparently bus service runs late in the this area). It's certainly convenient to 95, but with a broken gate, rude workers, penalties and fee gauging, and drunk pan handlers approaching you --- I am not sure its' worth it. I have found out subsequent that there are so many other places in Aston to store your things, and I will not patronize these condescending and cooked folks again. read more

HORRIBLE customer service. They have a promotion for $1 move-in special for the first month and when I brought it up, the gentleman in the office said they can't honor that special because most of their units are full. If you offer a special online and someone mentions it, you should honor it. It's been 2 years and that SAME special is still online, but they won't give me a credit. They increase my bill all the time and charge me the WRONG rate and when I call and leave a message no one calls back. I've sent emails and get no answer. My husband has even been in contact with corporate only through email because managment won't give us a phone number or a specific person to talk to. If it weren't for convenience, we would have moved our things out already. read more

I rent a storage unit at this location. I will start positive. Mary is very nice and accommodating. The staff has always been courteous to us. It is a climate control inside unit with a hallway. There was snow in the area (below average winter for PA) and the snow came down hill and into the hallways then into my unit. It destroyed most of my belongings that are on the floor. I moved recently to a new country so my whole home is in that unit. My children's cribs, momentos, furniture etc.are all destroyed. My mother passed away 2 months ago and we have things she gave us in that unit and gifts she gave my children along with photos and things from her. After the damage was reported my brother went to unit and the water is still sitting there so little was done by management to prevent further damage than what was already done. It appears they feel that clearing water from their buildings (i.e. roof, hallways, and doors) is not their responsibility. I inquired about this and was told to email corporate instead of management stating what they (since they are physically at the property) will do to prevent further damage until I can get home from another country. I now have to pay thousands of dollars (not an exaggeration) to fly home with my family to clear out my unit, throw away damaged belongings, rent a truck and move to a new unit at another facility so that this does not happen again. I am sure the insurance they offer will not even cover the damage and/or travel expenses. Do not rent here. They will not take any measures to the outside of their buildings to prevent damage and do not monitor the buildings since this damage was not detected until later.
