I gave this hotel 1 star a few years ago but my last experience was a complete turn-around. I have sporadically attended family reunions in the area and in times past, have dreaded coming to this hotel. It was a dump. And, I always brought my own pillow and sheets. But this time, I noticed a change immediately upon driving onto the lot. New signage, a nice exterior paint job. The changes continued upon entering: new, vibrant carpet and furniture, wow! And then the room! I couldn't believe my eyes...sleek design, refrigerator, microwave and a VERY COMFORTABLE bed with clean, plush linens. I didnt need to use my pillow and sheets this time! Im not a gambler so no feedback on the casino but I was beyond surprised and very happy this time around. I googled and saw that the hotel is now operated by the same group that owns Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas so the multi-million dollar renovation makes sense. Well done! what a horrible supposed casino. The only place to eat is a snack bar and it doesn't open until noon. Lots of the slot machines were broken in one form or fashion. More employees than guests. Atmosphere sucks. All black employees and I was the only white person that I saw there in the entire casino. I am no way prejudiced, but I thought it odd that no white people were there, ..really strange. There has to be a reason..!! The management is trying to make a "silk purse out of a pig's ear" and I can assure you that's not gonna happen. RV PARK REVIEW My wife and I live in our RV full time. We leave reviews so we can help the next camper. We stayed here for 1 month in the RV park and absolutely loved it. Full hook up sites with lots of room between spots so your not crammed in. Level parking lot so it's not hard to level your rig. Security that patrols on a regular basis makes you feel safe. And place was always dead. They have like 30ish spots and I never saw more than 5 people. I'd definitely return to the RV park in the future. read more

This is,by far, the WORST hotel where we have ever stayed. Just getting our luggage in was a major effort. It was almost impossible to get the luggage rack over a huge bump and push it up half a block to check in. We finally got to our room and I unpacked while my husband took the luggage rack back. He came back and walked into the room because the door wouldn't lock. Repack up and wait to get another room! No Wi-Fi! Analog TV! All snow. Everything about this place sucks. They jacked up the price to $260+ a night for the blues festival. We will never, ever stay here again. read more

Went on a Tuesday night. When I entered through the main doors I was surprised by the lack of anything. There is a faux rock fountain in the middle with plastic deer used for target practice. The structure splits either to the left or right. We went to the right, passing the closed gift shop (it was around 7), to an express food counter. We were looking for a dinner but this was all that was available. The buffet was not open nor was the restaurant. My dinner consisted of chicken wings (with a crust that would remind you of fish sticks), French fries, a Frito pie and a cola. I did not leave hungry but have a feeling I will be reliving that meal later tonight. The casino was quiet. Too quiet. Maybe 4 people playing. No bar service. No open table games. Not really sure why that side was even open. It does allow smoking so you definitely smell that. We quickly lost the money put into the machines and moved to the left casino. A few more people, an open bar and 3 tables open as well. Maybe a few more players but not much. My negative review is based on my experience with a video machine at the bar. I put in a $20 and tried to switch games. I could not get the touch screen to function. Even the bartender attempted with no luck. When I hit "cash out" the video slot wheels on the screen started spinning and my credits dropped to $15. Even the bartender didn't know what happened. He called maintenance. After nearly 15 minutes a worker walked by. When I flagged him over he said no one had called. He fixed the touch screen issue and told me I needed to wait for a pit boss to come over. Another 15-20 minutes later he walks up and asks if all is ok. I say that the pit boss has still not arrived. But since he was there I decided to cash out my (now) $10. With him watching I hit the cash out button and am dealt a hand of cards. After a few minutes the worker realizes that someone replaced the "max bet" button with one saying "cash out". Another 5 minutes and then the pit boss shows up. She tells me I need to have a cashier hand pay me. Another 20 minutes standing there and finally the machine is fixed, I had to sign paper work for the $6.25 hand payout and I have a cash out ticket for $8.75. Is it a surprise that when I went to cash out the machine paid the $0.75 in nickels? The people were friendly and pleasant. Being short staffed meant that no one was there to cover them to assist with my issues. But in the end it took nearly an hour to resolve a simple issue in a casino that had hardly any patrons. Short of a "sorry" there was no consideration. No complimentary drink, nothing. As I stood there with my 3 friends waiting I had to wonder is this matter being delayed so that I would lose more money waiting for the little I was owed. And how many people got burned on the machine with the false buttons before me. In the end my experience here will be memorable but for the wrong reasons. read more

They dnt clean the rooms or take out the trash, you have to that yourself, the only thing they will do is bring towels, only one place to eat and the food isn't good. I'm only giving this a two instead of deserved one to make sure this stays on Yelp. Staff rude and uncaring, had to beg for towel and a single wash rag as maid service was by request only. Who knew. I thought that was a given. Blamed on covid but casino sure was jumping. This plus a rude female security guard yelling at me to stop when I tried to talk to front desk. Yelled so so loud I actually put my hands up. In addition, rooms are subpar at best. No microwave no fridge and faulty air condition. Hey guys, maybe it's just because I'm only staying here because it's the cheapest hotel my company could find available on Monday-Tuesday- No food available after hours, no one at front desk or guest services answering the phone when I'm calling to ask about food, etc, then, when I checked in at 10p - I had to get a security guard to find the hotel desk clerk. Not to mention the cop in charge of security at the hotel entrance was sleeping on his podium when I walked by. No joking. But I didn't bother to try to wake him. All this just makes me wonder. This used to be my go to during the week of a work trip. It was nice and clean, except for the brown water in the city of Lula. It had been $39 a night during the week for over 3 years. Today I went to check in and it's now $99 a night due to "price increase". How is a more than doubling the rate increase considered a price increase?? Unfortunately, my stay at Isle of Capri Hotel Lula left much to be desired. I arrived late Thursday night and the first major issue was none of the lights worked in the room outside of the bathroom. Flipping the light switch did nothing and I had to call the front desk for service. Approximately 10 minutes later, a housekeeping lady came with new light bulbs, assuming the bulbs in all 3 lamps were burned out. As it turns out, the first lamp on the main table was broken and remained so throughout my 3 night stay, and the lamps on the night stands were unplugged. I was able to see that there were many stains on the carpet and a cigarette burn in the seat pad of the chair next to the desk. The air conditioner didn't have a controller for the customer - It was controlled from some place outside the room and it was programmed to turn on every 10 minutes or so and remain on for about 5 minutes. Friday was uneventful, although I used the plastic bag for the ice container and it was never replaced. Saturday, the housekeeping crew removed my towels but failed to clean the room. I called twice within a 2 hour period to get service before anyone arrived. I ate one meal at the hotel - Breakfast on Saturday morning. The pancakes were made to order and they were delicious. All members of the staff were cordial and professional, but the hotel accommodations were not impressive. I wasn't expecting much given the price was inexpensive, however, I wasn't expecting the room to be as 'run down' as it was either. Isle of Capri could do better. read more

This place is disgusting. The rooms are old and dated, the outlets are cracked and broken, the showers are dirty and crusty, and the rooms keys never seem to work quite right. Also, the internet is horrible/non existent. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich basket (includes fries and a drink) from the express restaurant. There were no fries and the pork was dried and crunchy..... I don't think pulled pork is supposed to be like that. They seemed to have a nice looking bar that we were hoping to go to when we got back that night, but of course, it wasn't even open. Super sketchy and reeks of smoke. Let me begin by saying I'm being generous with 2stars. This was my first stay and I wasn't expecting the Ritz, however customer service goes a LONG way. Upon my arrival, I understood that check in wasn't until 3pm however considering the fact that I had driven 9 hours through the night to attend my aunt's funeral I decided to take a chance. There was a very nice lady at the guest services ( forgot to get her name) who I feel was going to try and accommodate me. She picked up the phone to call housekeeping, but was sternly told NO by who I later found out was a supervisor named Hugh. She tried to whisper the circumstance, and he looked me squarely in the face and very sternly said WE WONT HAVE ROOMS AVAILABLE IN TIME FOR THE FUNERAL. He then turned and walked away not even to offer his condolences or a simple "sorry we can't help". I did check in later, and the wait staff at the buffet were awesome which is why I added another star-- kudos to Shorissa! Even a delicious buffet is not enough to bring me back. The hotel itself is in need of updates. The rooms are not being thoroughly clean. The toilet, tub, carpet, and seat of the desk chair were severely stained. The dust between the slats of the chair was an inch thick. The bed and linen were pretty clean, and after my ordeal I just needed rest. I have a family reunion being held at IOC later this year and I might take my chances at the Best Western. read more

I made reservations last July for a hotel and called a couple of months ago to confirm and they could find no reservation for me! I had booked through Expedia and called and got a supervisor and they gave us a $200 a night a The Isle of Capri Casino in Lula MS which is 24 miles from the music but assured they were running a shuttle to Clarksdale. Well no they weren't and knowing the cops are out in force for this we missed all the night venues but decided the next day we would go to the mini blues fest and the streets are unblocked! So we get to the room after asking security how far it is from check in and he said "a mile" I laughed and we kept walking and walking and walking then another security guard says we have to go outside and across by the pool and within close sight of the river and back in not to far down the hall. The wind had picked up and blowing off the river - f'ing burrrrrr. We actually had a seafood buffet that was good but expensive. The room - which I will be calling and writing Expedia and Isle of Capri today with pics of just a few problems with a $200 room. There was no fridge, no microwave, a tv that had a dark line up through the middle that looked like a tornado, the cord on the phone kept falling out, no hairdryer but a place where it had been, a toilet for midgets, broken plastic kleenex box, paint peeling off the ceiling over the shower, and I wanted to start throwing things but instead took pictures...Oh yes the next morning there was no and do mean no, it never warmed, up hot water .... read more

We are out driving and enjoying the day and came across the Isle of Capri Casino. This place is out in the middle of nowhere Mississippi, right at the Arkansas State line at the West Helena Bridge. Upon driving up, there was ample parking with well kept lots. The exterior is kind of plain, but then... We walked inside. We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere as we walked in. There are actually two small casinos that make up the playing areas. Both sites were active, for a Friday mid day, clean and friendly staff. We didn't play as much as we walked around and enjoyed the atmosphere. We see ourselves going back, when we have the time, and seeing what all this place has to offer! read more

Didn't stay in the hotel but went to have dinner at the Calypsos Buffet. Never again. Horrible experience. Over priced. Service was non-existent. Servers acted as if my party did not exist. Food was subpar. Looked and tasted like the food had been setting out all afternoon under a heat lamp. Crab legs were hot and fresh but were just boiled, no seasoning. This is not the same casino I used to go to. It used to be busy and had some of the most friendly staff. Now The staff is rude. They advertised 2 queen beds but when I got my rooms I was informed that they do not have queen size beds only doubles. The shower had no pressure. I asked for extra towels, since the was three of us in a room. I never received them. The casino was dead. One side of the casino smelled like mold. The only full bar is in one of the restaurants. If you don't want one of the four beers that they offer be prepared for well drinks served out of a soda gun. The slot machines seem like they are set to the tightest that the gaming commission will allow. Over all I would not recommend going to the Isle of Capri. Drive the extra 40 miles and stay at the Gold Strike. read more

As with a previous review, I feel 2 stars may be a little generous. It should be more clear the location of this establishment is very remote. This will affect decisions regarding meals in particular. The casino does have in-house eating establishments but the hours vary greatly and are staggered. As a result, my dinner on night number one was at a Pizza Hut across the river on the extreme opposite side of Helena. My first assigned room had a door that would not lock. When I requested this to be addressed, the customer service representative at the desk (whose personal conversation I had just interrupted) did assign me another room but did not seem particularly concerned with the issue itself. Upon attempting to move my things to the new room, I discovered 1 of the 2 keys provided did not work, so back to the front desk. Also note this particular "tower" is a pretty healthy walk to/from the front desk. The rooms are small, and while clean enough, they probably are on par with a lower-budget hotel/motel. They are old/dated. It appeared there may be a set of rooms in a newer part of the main building, but those were not offered. The two ends of the casino are primarily slot machines with a handful of table games in the middle. Beverages (including alcohol) are complimentary to those playing. I opted to shorten my stay here (1 night instead of 3) and instead switch to a location in Clarksdale, MS. read more

We pass through Tunica, Mississippi about 6 times a year and always stay at Horseshoe or Sam's Town (I am a frequent gambler/traveler to Lake Charles, Shreveport and Vegas so I get the rooms comped). We decided to try Isle of Capri since we had never come here before and booked a suite room through Orbitz (they had multiple rooms on their site to choose from starting at $50 a night and I selected the most expensive one that said "King Suite" thinking it would be nicer at almost $100 per night). When we got to the check in they told us that they do not have suites available and that only the casino host can book the suites. They kept saying it as if they thought I would just say ok and accept the regular room even though I paid for it. I had to pull up my receipt on Orbitz to show them as well as show them the different room choices available to select on Orbitz and the front desk person as well as the casino host who came over kept saying that they do not offer the suites to be booked online and that the only rooms that can be booked are the rooms for $50 a night. Since I prepaid for the room, I wanted the room that I paid for or a refund of the difference. I called Orbitz and at the same time was pulling up my account with Ceasars Casino's so we could just leave and go to Horseshoe. While I was on the phone with Orbitz (who was also trying to call the front desk to speak to the ladies) they miraculously booked us into what they called the suite after I already said I was just going to leave and go to Horseshoe...believe me i was not trying to get anything free...just what i paid for or a refund for the difference for the basic room they were trying to give me. The room they gave me was a king non-smoking room on the first floor that smelled of smoke connected to another room with a couch and refrigerator. Definitely not worth $100 a night...the room was old, outdated furniture and smelled of smoke so bad...i think it was coming from the vent in he bathroom because it was especially strong in there(not just a little bit but like someone just sat in the corner chain smoking...and the room has a non-smoking sign on the door)I ended up closing the bathroom door and putting towels on the floor to block the gaps and try to keep some of the smell out...helped just a tad but it was still bad my eyes were burning before I even went to bed. If I had known, I would not have checked out of Sam's Town this morning. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but we stayed only 1 night and will never be back. Like I said, I am a big gambler but I am not even going to waste my money here at all and I was looking forward to trying out their slots. The only reason I would even give the 1 star is for the girl who was at the cashier cage (I wish I had gotten her name but she had long thick braids) who was so friendly and nice and Pattie (the cashier) at the OH Express. This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. I was warned by previous reviews, but this was the only pet friendly hotel in the area so I had no choice but to stay here. I stayed in the Palm Terrace hotel which is very, very old and in serious need of a renovation. It feels like an old abandoned hotel when you walk down the hallways because half the rooms are open and in complete disarray. The room itself isn't much better: the walls and ceilings were stained, the sink didn't drain, the shower barely worked, the mattresses were gross, the light in the bathroom wouldn't turn off, and the wifi didn't work. They charged an extra $30 for the 3rd and 4th guest in the room yet they still only gave us 2 bath towels. Guests in the room next to us were partying all night long which kept us up. I only stayed here 15 hours and it was 15 hours too long! I think it has potential if they spend some time and money to update it, but until then I would NOT recommend staying here!! read more

While in casino you must wait thirty minutes between drinks but with one waitress covering the whole floor you'll be lucky to get one at all. I have to comment on my wife's review. She did hit on some things we both noticed but left out bunches of things. Like the pillows were non existent, the lovely view we had of 2 maintenance trailers, the beds that could only sleep 2 small children. There's more but you get the idea. Oh, and do they have waitresses that work at any time other than Sunday morning? I filled out a review request received in my email but haven't heard anything back and probably never will. Room clean, bed comfortable. WiFi sucks, patchy at best, glad wasn't there and absolutely needed. Can't use phone in the casino which means people can't get hold of you, and when I say can't there is. I service. Do not waste ur money, go further to Tunica. I know gambling isn't about always winning, but the service here is terrible. When ur there for an hour and lost 500.00 without even getting the first drink is terrible. Had to ask for a waitress and then it took another 20 minutes or so before she showed. Wish I could rate this place 0 stars. I went to this casino tonight for the concert and decide to stay in the hotel room. The room I had was decent, clean, and no smoke smell like you find at most casinos. My main complaint, however, is the security guards and their supervisors on the casino floor. When I was walking to the buffet from the casino fIoor, approached one of the guards who spoke to me. Five minutes later, I return back to the casino floor and the same guard who saw me walk out of floor asked for my I.d. I told him you just saw me walking out of the floor so why do you have to card me. His response was "It doesn't matter whether I saw you or not. I still have to ask for your I.d card. Then I saw some guys who appeared to be younger than me (14 maybe?) and notice he didn't asked them for their identification card. I told him, "What about those guys who just past you?." He say in a rude way, "Don't ask me why I didn't card them. You hear me. Next time you question me I am going to ask you to leave." I'm am 24 years old and he talked to me like I was his child. Out of many casinos I went to, this one have the rudest security ever. I will not return here again due to the issue I have with this a**hole and his stupid supervisors. With the economy not in good shape you would think that they will treat you courteous and with respect. But they act like they doing you a favor of coming here and spending your hard a** money on the gambling floor when its the other way around.
