The old dark, dreary, arcade is now a bright, colorful, and friendly place. The prize selection far surpasses the old arcade and the kids are now excited when we head up to spend our tickets. What a super cool place to avoid the heat or snow and have your kids burn off some energy. We were…read morechatting with a dad at a local outdoor playground and he mentioned GNG as a new-ish spot he brings his toddler to. After the heat took its toll, we decided to head over to GNG for some indoor fun. It is located in the midst of a sea of warehouses but you're not lost...it has a huge jungle gym space that requires those tall ceilings. The space is clean, as are the restrooms, with hand sanitizer throughout as well. There are snacks, drinks, and coffee for purchase. The prices are affordable and we opted for the $15 combo passes for the three kids to play in the gym and play 18 holes of mini golf. The play space is enclosed with socks required, so bring those with you (or purchase at GNG). There is an abundance of seating for parents to sit outside the play space or you can go in at no cost as a spectator. Our kids (7 & 11) loved both the jungle gym and the mini golf. There was no one in the large mini golf area and it is black lit and decorated in a pirate and nautical theme that was a lot of fun. I honestly would come back here to play mini golf without my kids with friends or my spouse. With kids was great, too, but the mini golf is also adult-friendly. The arcade was extremely expensive and not worth it, in our opinion. Makes sense, as they likely also pay a game rental company for use of the games. The one item our kids had success with and happiness from was a rubber duck claw machine that guarantees a winner. In general, this was an amazing place that we can't wait to come back to when we are back in town. Amazing find. Thanks, park dad!

We have visited here a few times and played in the casino. There seems to be construction here…read moreconstantly on the casino floor (over the last 3 years) that it just always feels like its in a remodeling phase that they can not figure out. With the smoking now being limited to a specific area, that room if you walk through is VERY potent) and in a middle section so if you are walking on the back part, you have to go through it or take a large detour. This casino used to be a little looser but is not showing those signs which is a bummer. It has expanded as they now have even more hotel towers so I guess it is a supply and demand thing. This last weekend we stayed in the buffalo tower. The room was very new and in excellent condition. HOWEVER, the walls were very thin. We woke up to a toddler (?) laughing in the room next to us and it sounded as if the toddler were standing right next to our bed. There was also a good inch gap under the doors so that made us realize the privacy was not as private as you would hope. Overall the dining is a bit disappointing as well, but there are a lot of bars and the drinks are totally reasonable which I can appreciate. My husband went down to the front desk on the morning of our departure and asked about late checkout. He also asked what time the lagoon opened. He asked if the swim up bar is open at the same time as when the lagoon opens and the attendant said she didn't know because she isn't a alcoholic. I found that to be a odd statement for someone at the front desk to say. A simple "oh i'm not sure" would have been way more appropriate...

We parked near the hotel side and walked to the hotel tower my aunts had a room. Once we changed clothes we walked downstairs towards the sign that says lagoon. Check in at the desk and walk through the glass door. First thing you'll see is the lockers and towels. Change room is on the otherside. Walk little further you'll see the lazy river. Then on the left side is the adult section. There's a swim up bar, indoor and outdoor pool and couple of hot tubs. We hungout at the swim up bar until near closing time. I didn't have time to go down the water slide. Bowling is on the otherside of hotel lobby and restaurants throughout the casino. I'm amazed this casino has become more family friendly.

This place truly feels like the future of gaming…read more I'm 30 years old and still left feeling like I got a full cardio workout in... but with a huge smile on my face the entire time. What I love most is how interactive everything is. Each room is private to your group (up to 5 players), so you're always playing with the people you came with, no awkward mixing with strangers. It makes it perfect for families, friends, or even a team outing with coworkers. The Mega Grid is hands-down my favorite and the main reason I keep coming back. It's fast-paced, challenging, and ridiculously fun.If you're looking for something different that gets you moving and laughing, this is the spot.

Activate is a super fun, high-energy experience, but plan ahead - especially at Mall of America…read more First tip: give yourself plenty of time to find it. We arrived about 30 minutes early and still felt rushed. The mall directions led us to a first kiosk, but Activate is actually on the third floor, so that added some confusion. When we arrived, there was a fairly long line. I had pre-registered online using a gift card, but at check-in they initially said I owed the full amount. I had to ask them to locate and apply the gift card I had already purchased. Once that was sorted out, each person in our group had to sign in separately, which takes a few minutes per person. They did provide a free locker, which was great. I highly recommend putting all jackets and hoodies in there - you will get hot fast. Once signed in, the instructions are very brief, but easy enough to figure out as you go. We were a group of six and hoped to play together, but had to split into two groups. That ended up being fine because we competed against each other, which was actually fun. There are about 10 rooms, and each room offers multiple game options. Every game earns you points, and there's a large scoreboard showing rankings, which adds a fun competitive element. We went on a busy day, so we did have short waits for some games, but usually only a couple of minutes. One downside: I wish there were a water fountain inside the gaming area. You can't bring water bottles in, and while there is a fountain by the lockers, our one-hour session flew by and we barely had time to step out. Overall, we had a great time and would absolutely do it again. Tips if you go: 1. Arrive at least 30 minutes early to find it and check in. 2. Wear shorts, a T-shirt and running shoes. 3. Drink water before you start. Fun, fast-paced, and a great workout!

Upon further investigation, I learned how it all works post speaking with the staff member. First off, the pinball exterior machines are ran by a totally different company than Starcade and all those machines are .25 cents each. Starcade is stucked inside the former giant main restaurant of Keg and Case which offers unlimited gaming for $20. All the machines are set to free play after you pay the fee. There is a bar serving basic snacks such as chips, pizza and on tap local sodas. The liquor license was just recently obtained and the staff seems to think this will get rolling out within the next few months. I'm not a gamer, yet I can tell you lots of games exist vs. just pinball like the exterior. Inside Starcade, you will find both a main level and upstairs (where the former brewery was). It's dark, there are fun twinkle lights and LED signs. Starcade used to be located within Rosedale Mall so come give a warm welcome to them as they lay roots in Saint Paul! I look forward to returning and trying some games. It has a Can Can Wonderland feel but less complex. I'm very glad the building is getting used as it's a beautiful venue. Enjoy!
