Hale Pule Ayurveda and Yoga - Yoga teacher training in Japan

    Hale Pule Ayurveda and Yoga

The word magic always seems to find me when I speak about Hale Pule. Coming from a farming…read morebackground, I was drawn to the Vedic living immersion as a way to work doing what I love while also learning about Yoga and Ayurveda which I had rather little previous knowledge of. Before arrival I was given a low down of how life functions there, but of course you can't really understand totally until you are living it. It takes a bit to adjust to how things work, especially if you haven't had any exposure to spiritual living. But once you get over that initial discomfort, you get to truly indulge in the beauty you are living. Hale Pule is a utopia of sorts, with flourishing vegetation and an energy like I have never felt before. The cost however of living in this dreamland, is that you have to face yourself. The environment is meant for healing and self work, not a vacation. All of the women who run Hale Pule are truly incredible, as they carry so much wisdom and make themselves available at all times to help you through this journey of self. The schedule is strict, but intentionally so for nothing other than your benefit. It can be an overwhelming experience at times, as self can often be a mighty monster to conquer, and if you do not allow yourself to open it will only grow harder, but Hale Pule is truly a gift to the world. At the end of my 9 weeks on the farm I felt as if I was a brand new human going back into the world. However, the journey was far from over at my departure. In fact I don't think I really even began to comprehend everything that had began to shift within me until after. Everything learned during my stay continues to develop within me, from the ways of cooking and eating, to the daily practices, to health, mindfulness, and understanding my emotions. Hale Pule offers seeds in abundance, if you care for them: the garden is yours. I'm not certain if I would be the person I am today or have the potential to be who I will become if Hale Pule had not become a part of my life and for that I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to spend time in such a transformative place. I owe my health and happiness almost entirely to the path Hale Pule guided me to. If you are ready to challenge your current self against the full potential you possess, trust that Hale Pule is the place for you.

What a wonderful experience I had with this retreat. I had little idea of what to expect and let…read moremy instincts guide me. Earlier this year a friend had been to India at an Ayurveda center. He spoke about the meals, the treatments etc. I have always been a believer that what you eat is very important to your body. I searched Amazon for a recipe book on Ayurveda food preparation. Low and behold, Myra's book popped up "Simple Ayurveda Recipes". I like simple, so I bought it last February 2014. Since then I have prepared many dishes, which my tummy welcomes with open arms. I then found out about about Hale Pule through this book and visited the web site. Looking over the various topics, especially food and the retreats offered, I thought this is right up my alley. I am a "searcher" and am always improving on my life's experience, building a lifestyle that makes me feel the best I can possibly be. The time spent with Myra and staff was amazing. The love, kindness and patience practiced at Hale Pule, gave me inspiration. I want to be more like that. I am home now for two weeks, continue to prepare the meals that I enjoyed, as well as the yoga practice. The meditations I learned keep me grounded. I am truly blessed that my husband is also joining me on this journey. Both of us look forward to visiting Myra & staff again next year ( or sooner if possible ). to grow stronger in this lifestyle, I think I barely touched the vast possibilities. Like I was told baby steps, every week I add more to what I have learned and incorporate into my life. I eagerly await my newsletter that I signed up for, check face book for news as well. Thank you Myra, Kelsey and Vanessa - you are all very special to me. Namaste P.S. My main concern at my stage in life is weight. I am almost 60 and am not able to shed weight as fast as when I was younger. After trying many diet fads this way of eating is the healthiest and most successful. In 1 month I have lost 5 pounds, nothing else has worked.

I'd rate this place 100/5 stars if I could!…read more When my partner and I were booking our trip to Kauai, the one thing I *really* wanted to do was book a beach side couples massage. We looked around and I was immediately taken with Hanalei Day Spa, because the owner's passion was palpable, even across the internet. We arrived and were cheerfully greeted by the owner at the front desk, and she was more than happy to explain the process and answer our questions. She introduced us to our massage therapists, Renata and Lou, and we followed them to a gorgeous set up with shade and the waves in the background. Both Renata and Lou asked us about our aches and pains and injuries, and let us know how they planned to run our 50 min massage. They told us to undress to our comfort, made sure we were happy with the table height, and asked if we need more or less pressure as they started, I've never felt so considered in a massage setting before! As our massages ended and went back to the lobby to settle up, the owner asked us how our experiences were, and I blurted out "I've never felt so loose!" But as soon as the words left my mouth, I realized that not only was I looser than ever, but I was standing straight without hunching my spine AND that the pain I've carried in my back and shoulders for the last 20 years was GONE. Not lessened, not eased, but absolutely and unequivocally, gone. As I realized this I started to cry happy/relief tears; I couldn't help it! I'd never have imagined a 50 min massage could eliminate years and years of accumulated pain. I started to apologize for crying, and the owner started tearing up herself and told me to "never apologize for beautiful emotion", which only made me cry more. It's been a few days since, and my back has stayed straight, my pain has stayed gone, and my gratitude (to Renata especially) only grows deeper. It's clear that this spa is run by people who are dedicated, caring, knowledgeable, and incredibly sweet. I can't thank them enough!

I get massages fairly often and I have to say, she was the best masseuse I had!! Don't miss this experience if you're visiting the Hanalei area.

A few years ago, I managed to attend a meditation session presided by the monastery's guru & abbot Satguru Bodhinata Veylanswami. It was a solemn ritual that was both spiritual & inspirational. He led the meditations in a rhythmic & transformative fashion. It was mesmerizing to feel & hear. The way the temple was architecturally designed, it reverberated & I felt it touch my soul to my very core. You have to experience it for yourself to understand what it is all about. The grounds are well maintained by the monks & people from the community (volunteers). It is a lush landscape in a prime property of Kaua'i. Through the years I have seen how the main temple has been constructed. As you enter, there is a gazebo at the entrance where sarongs are provided for visitors. These are provided to have guests dress appropriately for respect before entering the temple. Additionally, there is a round stone hearth to "burn" your troubles away. Pieces of paper & pens are provided for you to write your "troubles, challenges, problems" and a couple of lighters so you may burn it to ashes. As i may have written in the past, it is a cathartic experience as you watch it burn away, and up it goes in smoke. Experience it....

The grounds are large, but you can't see it all, unless you make an appointment. Still, what you see is amazing. I don't want to spoil much, but I HIGHLY suggest visiting this location while in Kauai.
