After quite an extensive internet investigation into the many complaints regarding the business practices of Island Trader Vacations (ITV), and their many affiliates including, but not limited to: Sealand Travel, Tradewinds Vacations, Castaways Vacation Club, Funseekers Vacation Club, Voyager Vacation Club, and Vida Vacations which are all part of Vacation Services International (VSI) - Yorktown, Va. & Friendship, OH.; Travel Service Center - Litchfield, IL.; Infinite Discount Living - Las Vegas NV.; Island Trader Vacations - Bloomfield Hills, MI.; Travel Services Inc. - Greenville, DE.; Coconut Club Vacations - Billings, MT., Henderson, NV., & Chatham, IL.; Grand Travel Worldwide (who's web-site fails to even open) - Arlington, TX.; Fantasia Vacations - New Smyrna, Fl.; and the Business Management/Customer Resolutions Dept. at WSW Holdings - Bloomfield Hills, MI., & Chatham IL. I am even more concerned, disturbed, and outraged to find that the pattern has not only involved us from our very first contact (4/14/13), but has continued, and even escalated over the years to the very present. No matter how many of the 1 or 2 sentence blurbs you post from "satisfied customers" you will never overcome the pages of paragraphs posted by the victims describing the circumstances surrounding their disillusion with the exaggerated travel benefits, and considerable financial loss from having trusted, involving themselves, and entangling their lives with Island Trader Vacations. Once the lies are put to the test, the reality is reveled, and the heartbreaking shock has somewhat subsided it is a swift and decisive step from enthusiastic excited travel expectations to knee jerking emotional crash landings, and immediate pleas for refunds and cancellations. This is a particular hardship for retired seniors on a fixed income. But what makes this next experience even more excruciatingly painful when a site is actually reached is the arrogant, smug, dismissive, Trump-like indifference expressed by the employees, and representatives who bother to respond in writing and/or answer the 10 or more phone numbers related to ITV found on the internet- 2 of which actually work from my experience. Some of these sites have the same number, others overlap, and just connect to the same site. Some email addresses or web sites do the same. Attempts to reason with ITV through these emails results in the same type of evasive deflection claiming no involvement or knowledge of the issue, and/or redirecting the whole process back to the original sales office. Like you just did to me. These insipid responses from ITV found on consumer complaint sites like the Better Business Bureau, Tripadvisor, Yelp, Benzinga, Holysmoke, Scampulse, Peopleclaim, Scambook, Myscratchoffs, Ask-Anita, Pissedconsumer, and Elliot Advocacy among others all seem have the same message - that we complainers, sorry victims, are all to blame, and that it is all our fault for creating these circumstances ourselves simply by the fact that we were stupid, gullible, and naive enough to buy the membership to the travel club, and sign an agreement to pay yearly dues in the first place, and that ITV did not receive any part of the purchase price, and had nothing to do with the sale of the membership to the travel club either. This is a classic con artist denial response, and just another example of the sly, unethical practices in which ITV attempts to dodge the situation described in the complaints. Just the fact that the so-called sales offices promoting membership in the many VSI travel clubs charge upwards of 36 years* of ITV yearly dues, and then the "member" must then pay the yearly dues or "forfeit" the so-called travel "benefits" is bad enough, but to then require payment of the back delinquent dues in full in order to just be eligible to request cancellation of membership is insane, but then to make even more money from the victims by charging 4 plus years* of dues just to finally cancel the membership is criminal. (*Based on the California dues rate of $149 NOT the $199 the other 49 states have to pay.) The buyout was not even available for many years, and so many duped disgruntled clients had to settle for posting warnings, and complaints on line. I can only imagine how it came about recently that the legal department finally, and begrudgingly provided the "Mutual Release/Cancellation" forms from the Travel Service Center office in Litchfield, IL. You say that you do not receive kickbacks from any original sales office, but you are running a business that is being promoted by charlatans who are using false promises, outright lies, exaggerated claims, and any other means possible IN YOUR NAME to make a membership sale. Simply put, you can no longer hide behind your satchels full of colorful fancy fliers that you provide for the deceitful salesmen, or the "uncredited" A+ rating back on October 3, 2014 that you posted on the BBB.
