Island Getaways is the absolute best! I was stressed trying to book our honeymoon and feeling overwhelmed by the process. Nancy jumped right in and made the process a breeze! Not only did she book our perfect honeymoon and all the excursions, she saved us money and got us extra spa credits to boot! And she is so nice! Don't hesitate to reach out to Island Getaways - I am so glad we did. I will definitely use them for any future trips. read more

We went for. 50th birthday celebration and a wedding. Nancy and staff from beginning to end made our family trip truly memorable and with no issues at all. The beautiful resort and 5star treatment has keep us coming back to El Dorado. Thank you for a memorable experience, and for making it easy to plan with 10 different people. Nancy Flinn working at Island Getaways helped us get our trip to Jamica so easy. But the time frame we where going the huricane hit. She calmly helped us find a different island St Lucia. She made it so easy to figure things out for our anniversary trip. Also making sure we had a beautiful room and private transportation on helicopter. Nancy worked flawlessly to help us. It was such a pleasure working with her and her company. read more

As a recommendation from a colleague who said their cousin used them back in 2019. First I did my research checking online the reviews and everything went good until I read them here. Still questionable but I went ahead. First I have to say is that this company is a hard sell for Sandals Resorts. Really hard sell. When I said that wasn't in our plans they really cooled off returning our calls and emails. We wanted the DR but they kept with the other places. Finally after waiting several weeks for an answer back we gave up. We didn't want to change to a Sandals because of the reviews we got from friends. Some had great while others had questionable rooms with a hard sell to upgrade when there. One friend said they found out that the resort they stayed at in Negril was older and they hadn't got around to changing the lower price rooms. Again this is not what we wanted. Heck after the wedding the last thing I wanted. For us it was relaxing! So take this as another endorsement to do your research and not get swayed by the hype. Yeah I spent hours but I relaxed! read more

We started to plan this trip a year ago. Not knowing where we wanted to go, we asked our expert travel agent Nancy Finn from Island Getaways. Nancy is the local travel guru, that knows her resorts well, and gets to know her clients, designs the perfect trip for them. Being a Karisma resort superstar Nancy knew that we would be well taken care of at the El Dorado Casitas. Everyone knows Nancy at the El Dorado, her status does not go unrecognized!! We have never been to Mexico, and knowing many people that have, we were not sure that is where we wanted to go. Our desires were water, beach, beautiful resort, elegant food not just ok food, gourmet! Top shelf liquor , pool, pool bar, but NOT to busy...cabanas, and service!!! Being a hospitality professional myself, I wanted to experience 5 star service just as my company gives to customers. We had that and then some! Because we booked our trip with Nancy , we were given so many extra upgrades! The private beach dinner was amazing and we are so thankful for that! The free massages, the decorations in the suite after the birthday dinner,, thanks to Nancy! We have found our Happy Place In Mexico, met amazing people, and cant wait to return. You will not be disappointed. Nancy Finn, your are an amazing travel agent, and we cant wait to book our next trip with you at myislandgetaways for our next trip of a lifetime! read more

When my husband and I were just deciding on a destination wedding over 10 years ago, I got a recommendation on The Knot forums to talk to Nancy Finn about where we should get married and have her help with the arrangements and travel for ourselves and our guests. And within one minute on the phone with her, our wedding location was set: Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica. Throughout that entire process, she was an amazing help - always available to answer our and our guests' questions. Throughout the entire 8 months leading up to our wedding, she was never not there to assist any of us; it was an immense relief to have her on our team. Her expertise was spot-on, Swept Away was the perfect location for us and our merry band and even now, after much travel, my husband and I cannot imagine our wedding having been anywhere else. And then ten years later, we turned to her again, this time for the perfect 10th anniversary location. And again, within a minute, we had the location: Karisma Resorts El Dorado Royale Casitas in Mexico's gorgeous Riviera Maya region. It is her enthusiasm, I think; it is so contagious. When she talks about these paradises, she's telling you as a friend and you just know she's steering you in the right direction. We've used her company to book two of the most important trips we've taken in our lives and she's done an amazing job of choosing the places for us and ensuring that we are guided and treated well while there. She is well-known and respected at so many places and by so many people that when you go as part of her team, you are treated with the care they give her. It's totally VIP :) I have the greatest respect for Nancy and am grateful for all she's done for us. And the world she's shown us. read more

This review is long overdue. Our travels date back to March 2016. Nancy & Team organized and made our Weddingmoon MORE than we could have asked for. Our special day was a dream and this team went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make it more than what we expected. From the room upgrades, truly personal service and private airport rides - it was all a-mazing and only credited to Nancy! We can't wait to go back to St. Lucia and use the helpful services and expertise of MIG again. THANK YOU! read more

We were not very happy with the service from Island Getaways. We booked a trip through them for my brother's wedding in Jamaica. About a month prior to the trip I called Nancy to let her know that this would also be my honeymoon. She informed me that a honeymoon has to be within thirty days of marriage (we were married in September and the trip was in May) but she would call the resort and try to set something up. I let her know that we would be willing to pay for any honeymoon services, I just wanted it to be special because we couldn't afford to take a honeymoon right after the wedding. She told me that she would make the call and to be sure to bring a copy of our marriage certificate to the resort as proof. Long story short, when we got to the resort no call had been made. They had no idea we were honeymooners and it was too late to book anything special so "last minute". We even got a horrible room with double beds when we had requested a room with one king sized bed. I wish I had used my regular travel agent but the rest of the wedding party and guests all used Island Getaways so I felt obligated. read more

My husband and I used Nancy and the team at My Island Getaways to book our group for our destination wedding in Playa del Carmen. If you are looking for a travel agent (wedding, honeymoon, anniversary or just a week away in paradise) who is a step above the rest, look no further. Nancy was the first and only travel agent I considered when I started my wedding planning journey. From my first conversation with her, I knew my entire wedding group was in good hands. She continued to blow me away throughout the year and a half we worked together. She was so patient with my entire group. Some had never traveled outside the US, so the concepts of international travel, hotel transfers and all-inclusive were new to them. She always took the time, even on off hours, to answer every question. She was so flexible and an incredible problem solver. She was always happy to accommodate any request I had.....and I had a lot. Because we had booked so early, we had a few room change requests. A few were unable to attend (due to pregnancy & Zika) and Nancy was able to book other people in their place so they got their money back. Our resort sold out months before our wedding and managed to secure more rooms for our guests who were slow to book. Planning a wedding via email has its challenges, but Nancy always had our back. The resort suspended one of the wedding promotions that we booked under and she ensured that the resort honored it. She was also able to book our onsite wedding coordinator meeting in advance, which rarely happens. Nancy's relationships with the resort and Lomas proved to be incredibly important. She surprised my husband and I with a limo upgrade hotel transportation and secured room upgrades for our ENTIRE group. The resort knows when an Island Getaway group is coming and you are treated like VIP. The service didn't stop after our trip was over. She called immediately after we returned and took a genuine interest in our experience. A piece of décor went missing and she contacted the resort on my behalf to locate it. Her passion is apparent in the work she does and she truly goes above and beyond to make sure her clients are happy. She values relationships over the sale - which is rare these days. Do yourself a favor - book with Nancy...she will ensure you have a trip of a lifetime. I know we cannot wait to work with Nancy again! read more

I can't say enough amazing things about Nancy Finn and her entire team at Island Getaways! From planning our wedding in 2005 at Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica and booking not only all of our travel but the travel of our family & guests to traveling 4 roundtrip hours in order to personally attend our post-wedding afterparty back in the States just so she and her husband Tom could introduce themselves face-to-face to my wife and I and congratulate us personally. If that was not enough, they even brought us robes as a special surprise wedding present from our resort which we still wear to this day over a decade later. We trusted Island Getaways again recently to book our 10th anniversary trip this past week at the El Dorado Royale Casitas in Mexico's Riviera Maya and we couldn't have imagined in our wildest dreams a more incredible vacation experience! Though we had other resorts in mind, Nancy and Tom's knowledge guided us to choose this Karisma brand resort (which Nancy is a "Designated Honeymoon & Anniversary Specialist" at Karisma's El Dorado & Azul Resorts, a "Five Diamond Award Winner" and boasts "Most Experienced and Productive Partner" for the popular, lavish resort property). The El Dorado Royale Casitas was chosen as a Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Top 100 Hotels in the World, is a AAA Four Diamond Resort and is recognized as an adults-only gourmet-inclusive destination that provides the ultimate in service in the ultimate setting. My wife and I have traveled across the globe and have stayed in some of the finest luxury resorts including such properties as the Waldorf Astoria, Four Seasons, Rosewood Hotels and more and we have never experienced a more quality, customer service oriented resort that delivers a greater romantic all-inclusive experience. Island Getaways' clients are always treated like royalty while indulging on their vacations based on the trusted relationships Island Getaways has built with these premium properties with their over 30+ combined years of travel industry experience. Thank you to Charmaine for being such a fantastic resource. We were novice travelers in terms of taking our young children on a long getaway and she helped make things smooth and alleviate any concerns that we had. When there was a problem with the airline the day before our trip she spent hours on the phone to help us solve the problem and get answers. She was an expert on the property and the amenities and was always available to give us great advice. Thanks for helping us create some lifelong family memories! read more

We decided to book a trip to Negril on a last minute whim. I was referred to Nancy Finn through a friend. Nancy was out of town when I initially inquired via email, so I was shocked to get a response within the hour. I had multiple emails & phone calls with Nancy before, during & after booking our trip. She put my mind at ease right from the beginning, and also got us a great deal on the trip! Once we were at the resort, it was better than I expected. She got us VIP service during our stay, and ensured we were well taken care of! I cant say enough good things about my experience with Nancy Finn & her team, and cant wait to work with her again!! We were not at all happy with Island Getaways. We came upon Nancy and Tom through a recommendation of a coworker. At first things were good. Communication was good until she got her money. Once our entire payment was made on our honeymoon, it was difficult to get a hold of her. She said multiple times during the process if we had any questions or problems that we should contact her even if we were on our honeymoon. I went in with a great feeling about everything. The resort was nothing like we imagined. The rooms were nice and the beach was beautiful but the rest of the experience was poor and I feel like we deserved some attention to our concerns. I sent Nancy a long email about all of the issues we were having in hopes that she would be able to give us a contact at the resort to dicuss our problems and heard nothing from her. I sent another email to follow up when we returned and still nothing. I would never EVER recommend Island Getaways to a friend. It seems like it's all about the money and nothing about the people behind it and their experience. read more

I cannot even begin to explain how thankful I am for Charmaine George of Island getaways. I went through 7 different travel agents from different companies to try to find someone like her. I have been planning my wedding for almost two years now and I was getting frustrated by many things including pricing, response time and overall just not getting what I really wanted. Then Char came into the picture and was literally the best thing that happened to myself and my now husband John. From the moment she sent that first email back, I knew I had found "the one". Charmaine was with me EVERY step of the way while planning my dream destination wedding. From late night phone calls to random emails that I would send her freaking out about something small, she always took the time to listen and respond to me. She took care of all the travel needs for our guests from booking rooms from our resorts to air and always assisted them in every step of their way as well. She was the mediator between myself and the staff at the resort as well and she knew how to get things done! She was always able to get an answer for me big or small. Anytime, I had an issue with something or needed an answer she went out of her way to get that answer for me. Oh! and lets not forget the fact that she actually came to my wedding not just as our travel agent but as our guest! It is people like her that can be the difference between having a good wedding and a great wedding and we are SO lucky to have found her. Our wedding turned out AMAZING! She is truly an asset to Island getaways and will be for many more years to come! read more

Service was great until they received our payment, and then it was lacking. At one point, it took over two weeks to get a response from Nancy regarding our honeymoon to Antigua. When you (as the consumer) have to do more leg-work than the travel agent, there is something clearly wrong. Would not book with Island Getaways again, nor would I recommend to any other couples. read more

Charmaine George was our travel agent for our honeymoon to St. Lucia and we are SO relieved and thankful we found her. She made the whole booking process easy and stress free with Sandals. She also booked our helicopter ride for us and then when our flight was delayed she contacted the helicopter company for us and rearranged our reservations last minute. She also contacted the resort for us instead of us having to worry about communicating with everyone among the stress of our delayed flight. We arrived to our honeymoon suite to find a thoughtful note from Charmaine too! We loved our experience with Sandals and if we ever book with them again (which we hope to in the not so far off future) we will use Charmaine! read more

Nancy and her team were absolutely amazing to work with!!! I have used them for the past 2 years for the beaches Turks and Caicos resort and each time was phenomenal! Nancy took care of every detail and was always very quick to respond to my many emails of questions. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and Nancy called ahead for us and we received an upgraded room and treats delivered to our room. Cannot say enough good things about her and her team!!! The are awesome!! read more

We decided to use Island Getaways because of the excellent reviews. Island Aimee was our contact and after working with her, we will never use a travel agent again. She never contacted us unless it was to ask for payment. We started planning our honeymoon about 1.5 years ahead of time and she recommended a time frame for when flights should be the cheapest and that time came and went with no contact from her. It was the same with trying to choose a resort and my husband did most of the work. Don't waste your time here. read more

My husband and I chose to do a destination wedding. We let all of our guests know a year in advance so everyone would have time to save and plan for a trip. We wanted it to be a trip to celebrate our marriage but we also wanted it to be a time where we could be in a paradise together with all our friends and family on vacation. We were recommended to Nancy Finn by one of my friends who had recently booked her destination through Nancy as well. She was such a tremendous help throughout the entire process. Her rates are absolutely the best and if you think you are getting a better deal through someone else, you're not. The customer service from Nancy and her staff are great. She is always working and extremely quick to respond. She and her staff helped coordinate me and my husband and 74 of our friends and family with our travel to the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Our wedding was absolutely gorgeous at the Karisma Resort, El Dorado Royale. The resort, service, facilities, and overall experience at El Dorado is something you will not experience anywhere else in Mexico. I highly recommend Nancy with MyIslandGetaways and her staff. Thank you all for your help! Love, The Edges read more
