Unfortunately, after attending several open houses in the area, we did meet several realtors but none of which was courteous enough to actually take us seriously or return our phone calls to help us find a property that best suited our needs. In an intense real estate market like Brooklyn's, it did not seem as though anyone cared enough to actually help us find a home that worked for us....it seemed as though they must have so many potential buyers for these properties that the human aspect of their job went out the window. That was when we met Melanie at an open house. From the start she was very professional. At the open house she allowed us to explore the home on our own and made herself available if we had any questions, rather than most who follow you around so closely you can feel them breathing down your neck. We liked the property we saw, but we didn't love it. We chatted for a bit and Melanie asked if it was okay to contact us with any properties that might fit with our needs. I honestly thought to myself, sure we will hear from you, just like everyone else said they would contact us. Much to our surprise, Melanie did reach out to us about a week later and showed us a few more properties. What is unique about Melanie in this market is that she actually cares about her clients and wants to help them find a home that suits them, rather than just making a quick sale. This was apparent in our conversations and with our discussions with her regarding the property we ultimately purchased. Melanie is genuinely a caring individual whose charisma is contagious and her level of experience is apparent in the relationship we established. We thank her for helping us find our first home and are very lucky to have met her. Also of note, we met Wade Jabour and Andrew at second viewings of the 2 main properties we were interested in. They were both welcoming, professional, and informative, and we would like to recommend them as well. We highly recommend Melanie and Jabour Realty to anyone in their home search!

The first was when I applied for a lease and was told that it was a very quiet apartment. NOT TRUE! delivery trucks unload beneath my window at 5;30 am EVERY morning, there was (now closed) a nightclub beneath me that played loud outdoor music until 3 am! I had to reach out to the city to deal with that issue - management was useless! My building which is across from the main building has no security stationed in it, to the affect that I once found a homeless person sleeping in our lounge area on the first floor. This complex is run by a corporation in New Jersey and is the oldest complex in their chain and the most neglected. Recently, I complained about a disturbance in our cafe and was asked why I was the only one to make a complaint...implying that a single resident's concerns are NOT worthy of management's attention. Residents here are cash cows and milked for high rents... that seems to be our only value. Urby is in a beautiful bayside location but with a high crime slummy area on the other side. It may be tempting, BUT STAY AWAY!!!
