NYPD is called here on the regular... Day 2 of no heat and hot water.... No real explanation by Urby Management. They continue to copy and paste the same email saying that our service will be interrupted but no explanation or update. Is this Urby or NYCHA... I'm not sure anymore.

Staten island isn't known for its great coffee. Or cute coffee shops. But while job hunting in the area, I stumbled across the mall on the pier. There was a sign that said "good coffee" out front on the street so I went looking for it. What a beautiful café! It was an oasis in an industrial wasteland. Modern yet warm, well lit, excellent illy espresso, Wi-Fi, and cushy chairs of all shapes and sizes. A beautiful view of the courtyard to the apartment building next door. It was raining so I desperately needed a spot to wait out an hour before an interview and Urby really came through. The Italian barista was lovely and So friendly. She made my morning. I'm definitely going back. It's my new favorite coffee spot on the island!

The main problem was the management, I mean for us. The apartments are a bit small but nice. I really enjoyed the gym, the pool, the lounge & Cafe. Before the pandemic, we had free events (Ex.: Thanksgiving Dinner). Since 2019, they cut everything but didn't reduce our rent. The same year, we got a serious infestation of cockroaches in building 7. I took pictures of cockroaches walking in the hallway (floor 1). Last year (2023), we occasionally saw cockroaches in our studio (5th floor). For your info, after 3 years, all tenants can get their apartments refreshed with new paint. We didn't ask the management to refresh our apartment, except for the restroom after 6 years. It was our part to help them during the pandemic. Unfortunately, they didn't consider our generosity/compassion. After living there 6 years, always paid on time, they charged us for the floor ($1,455.15), which we didn't damage. From our view, it was "wear & tear". On top of it, they double charged us for the final electric bill. I paid $77.78 on 12/15/23, and they removed the same amount $77.78 from our security deposit (Their statement 01/04/2024). In short, we got a refund of $334.44. When I contacted them, the lady in charge denied the error. So, please, NEVER pay the final electric bill and cover the floor 100% with carpet. As an Archivist, I kept all receipts and pictures, but it didn't help. So, better to avoid this Staten Island Urby for your peace of mind or accept the risks.

New development in the neighborhood located right by the water. It's stands out as the design is modern compared to the dilapidated surroundings. Came in for coffee and an escape and that was what I got. Ice brew is great and will be back again.

You can't beat this building! It is like living on vacation in a five star hotel! Unlimited amenities, great cafe, so many restaurants coming soon! Location is great for traveling to the city- the Staten Island ferry and buses are so close. I love all the activities - especially the cooking classes with resident live in chef!‍ I'm glad I got in before they all sell out! Looking forward to all things Urby has to offer

2nd lease with Staten Island Urby, so many good things to say!!! Peaceful, Clean, Great Views, and Stylish Amenities...  Life is peacefully quiet, but one can engage the organized social activities or enjoy the café & lounge. For that matter, there are several restaurants in-house. We're more routinely on the quiet-at-home side, and we've been extremely pleased... looking out the living room window at Manhattan across the New York Harbor. I feel connected but removed, close enough by car or the ferry... but separated enough to feel at peace. The building stays immaculately clean!!! I work all over Brooklyn, entering many residential buildings, and this community is dedicated to DAILY cleaning. This includes our residential hallways, the public areas & the substantial gym facilities. We've enjoyed the morning runs on the treadmills with distant views of the Manhattan skyline throughout our tenancy.   During this pandemic, I've come to truly appreciate the public park right behind the complex, Stapleton Waterfront Park: https://g.page/stapleton-waterfront-park?share. It's a lightly utilized community park, and we've walked here every morning during gym closures with easy social distancing. People walk their dogs, and it's a safe, clean park. The park is eyeshot to the adjacent FDNY Pier, which adds to the activity on the water and a sense of security in the park. You have panoramic views of the Verrazano, Brooklyn & Manhattan skylines. These skylines are also visible from some of the apartments, the gym, & a couple of the in-house restaurants. By the way, I'll say, I especially enjoy parking under the building at a quite-reasonable-fee compared to what I paid in past Brooklyn parking rentals.   So, I'll say my top reasons for living here are the view, the peace-and-quiet on the water, the gym amenities, the clean stylish interiors, and the supportive management. Yes, as we've had concerns, rather maintenance, storage, or lease renewal, management has been quickly responsive. I'll say as we've just renewed our lease midst this pandemic, Carlos Vasquez, Property Manager, has particularly impressed with creativity & flexibility with sense of real caring. That's not always the case with landlords. Even when he cannot fix a problem, like when the New York Marathon restricted our garage exit for a bit, Carlos has a way of making one feel heard. I believe the building management really does listen & moves to create positive change when challenges arise. We've had very warm experiences with other building neighbors as well: Victoria Cruz, Leasing Manager, who also is a friendly neighbor and fellow partaker of Urby Farm goods!!! Other management staff have met us with smiles and friendly conversation... I cannot recall all the names. It's a professional, supportive, and warm management style here at the Urby. Definitely played into our 2nd 2-year lease!!! BTW, the Urby cleaning staff are awesome too!!! As I also don't know their names, I'll just say we smile & speak every time we see each other.

I love living here! Great people, terrific chef in residence (Brendan Costello), fire pits, pool, organic farm (with farmers)...totally NOT living in Uncle Tony's two family. Lovely cafe where neighborhood and residents hang out. A little slice of heaven on Staten Island...and dog friendly! Don't let the upscale price of rents here scare you, you're paying for amenities and proximity to the ferry. Brooklyn doesn't match up.

I like Urby!:) Me and my husband have cute apartment with all we need ! Met here a lot of cool guys and we are friends now:) Also here is a mini park right in front of the building , lounge area, gym and summer pool. Building is clean enough . All the workers are kind and helpful) Thank you Urby team :)

Just got into a spat with maintenance because my building hasn't had hot water since 6am and they were insisting I should wait until next business day(Monday 8am) to have it dealt with. One laundry room has been shut down since the fall so the entire complex (hundreds of apartments) is now reduced to only two laundry rooms, one of which is shared with st. John's college students. Floors and machines are filthy and half are out of order. Often have to call to complain to have sidewalks cleared after the snow. Two stars because they are large dog friendly, because the maintenance guys who pick up the property are nice and because the residents themselves are super friendly. For the price we found a much nicer housing option and will be leaving when our lease is up in March.

It was a wonderful place to live and if you have the opportunity to live here too, you will know firsthand how fantastic a place it is to call home. During Covid, the building held the line on rents, zero during Covid and 5% when rents were going up 20% and more in Jersey City. This exemplifies how the building always prioritizes the needs of the tenants. Again, it is a truly amazing building in an extremely convenient and coveted part of Jersey City.

I have been a resident here at Liberty House for, what would've been, 10 years, and it pains me to…read moreeven write this review...but, enough is enough. I received a lease renewal of over 18%, which I found absolutely insane not only due to the length of my tenancy, but to the fact that this increase was not, in any way, justifiable by current market trends. However, thanks to the help of Samantha, she was able to present me with a much lower renewal that was more realistic. I was ecstatic because Samantha was able to keep me in my budget so I can continue living in my home where so many beautiful memories and accomplishments have been made. Since I've been here for so long, I've seen MANY managers come and go, and Samantha has by far been the most helpful, most genuine, and most caring. However, Lordis MUST be held accountable for her consistent malicious actions and disgusting commentary. I had to write this review anonymously due to Lordis's proven track record of making any resident's living experience so miserable to the point where they are forced to move out if that resident speaks up on her behavior, and I refuse to allow her to do the same to me and my family. As I was waiting for the elevator after leaving the office to discuss my renewal (the elevator is right next to the office, by the way), I overheard Lordis say "Sam! Did they renew?" Samantha responded "yeah, I got them a better renewal offer." Lordis then responded (and I remember word for word because I was in such disbelief), "those kind of people are always looking for discounts but want to walk around thinking they're royalty like they don't stink up the whole hallway!" (For reference, I am from India and my husband is from Pakistan). There was a brief moment of silence, assuming everyone else in the office was in the same disbelief, then she continued while laughing and said "it's true! Right, Patrick? Tell me when you walk past any of those Indian apartments it doesn't stink!? Nobody wants to smell that curry all day. We could've let them give notice, sorry Sam." I pulled my phone out to begin recording, but the statements ended there since it was clear that Samantha and Patrick was not entertaining her foolishness. This was extremely hurtful and heartbreaking because I was so excited to go upstairs and let my husband know that we can renew our lease for our home that we loved SO much. But, within just 10-15 seconds, that excitement was shattered. My husband and I have given our notice to move out. How could we possibly continue to live in a place where with such a disgusting, evil, and malicious manager? 9 years. We're letting go of our home for the past 9 years. It would've been a MUCH better staffing decision by Windsor if Samantha was hired as the main manager, but instead, they decided to hire a monster. Going through previous reviews, I see there is someone from Windsor that responds. So I would like to state, since this will clearly be seen by someone higher, that my husband and I do not wish to rectify, speak about, or meet with ANYONE regarding this review as we would like to enjoy our last two months living here without being exposed to Lordis malicious and retaliatory behavior. However, just a word of advice, get rid of that monster before she causes this property to lose more residents and before she runs your business through the mud. As a resident, we always only see Samantha and/or Patrick running around and doing all of the work anyway, so there is clearly not a need for her. To anyone looking to potentially live here, it's a great property in a beautiful neighborhood. Samantha is a wonderful resident manager and Patrick is a sweet kid. But, if you come tour, ask of Lordis is still the manager. If the answer is yes....RUN!!! Do not move here until this monster is replaced.

Wrote to the owner again, and even the owner did not believe that the super would do that and got nasty with me and would not do anything. They even spit on our balcony , and make loud noise right in front of our door (screaming and pounding their feet). He even uses his young child to make noise. Very low class people. If you are looking into these apartments, don't believe the management when they say that "this is the quietest building (that is what we were told)" - if you move below the super, it is anything but (especially loud noise late at night - even to about 1:00 a.m.). And if you complain about the super...YOU WILL BE HARASSED!!!!!!! The apartments were practically put together with paper and glue. Very cheap, half fast jobs.
