My dentist's office called and made the appointment. Initially, when I contacted the office to confirm the appointment, office staff insisted that I did not have an appointment, that they had never heard of me, and that I must be mistaken. They offered an appointment 5 days later than the original appointment date that I was scheduled for. I told them I would check my work schedule and call back. I did, only to be told that they had found my appointment, and merely misspelled my name. I showed up on the morning of my appointment and answered the now ubiquitous COVID-19 screening questions. I was routinely tested for COVID-19 for work on 5/15/2020 (negative oral swab, negative IGG). I was told that because I didn't have a written copy of those results that they would not see me. Not once was this mentioned prior to my appointment date. If it had been, I would have had the chance to obtain the necessary medical records (not that a 3 week old COVID test result has any meaning). So I guess I'll start my second week with a toothache as I try and find someone willing to pull it. Dr. Payne may be a fine gentlemen. I've never met him. The inflexible, bureaucratic attitude of his office leaves a great deal to be desired.

First, Dr. Hernandez is a very talented dentist. He has a very friendly personality and he has surrounded himself with similar assistants in his practice. He uses all the state of the art equipment and techniques and has a very clean and modern office. He has done several procedures on my teeth and my wife's and in general I have been quite satisfied. However, the last two visits did not leave me with positive feelings. I went back for a follow-up appointment to have two implants he had done earlier checked on. They were healing fine but a little more time was needed before proceeding with putting crowns on. Being a snow bird I was scheduled to leave for Ct for the summer so I decided to have the crowns put on there. When that dentist took x-rays he informed me that the implants were not parallel, as they should be, and one was tilted toward the back of my mouth. He did say he could compensate for this but it should not have happened to begin with. Also, at the time of the follow-up appointment, Dr. Hernandez probed two other teeth (22 & 27) which had crowns. When he took the probe out of my mouth he showed me some white substance on the end of the pick which he said was puss. He said that was an indication of an infection. He said he would need to take the crown off of 27 to clean up the area and he advised he should do the same thing with 22 to make sure that did not happen with that tooth also. On the way out I made an appointment for three weeks later. As I drove home I thought why, if I had an infection, he did not prescribe an antibiotic or ask his assistant to set up a return appointment sooner. When I got to CT I had two other dentists look at tooth #27 only to be told, by both, that there was no sign of an infection. Dr. Hernandez was not honest about this situation. I have found, over time, there are two types of dentists. Conservative and aggressive. Dr. Hernandez fits the latter. He would like you to have as good looking set of teeth as possible albeit that some procedures to get there may not be necessary. Because he was going to take two crowns off that was totally unnecessary, at a cost of 1-2 thousand dollars to have new ones made, I will not be going back to him. In general I would recommend Dr. Hernandez but make sure you are comfortable with what he wants to do and if you are not, obtain a second opinion. For me, when someone is not truthful with me I lose respect for them. I will find another dentist in the future.

Dr. Wendy Hernandez is truly outstanding--easygoing, straightforward, and genuinely caring. From the first appointment, it didn't feel like a transaction; it felt like she listened. She never rushed me, honored the time I needed, and inspired immediate comfort and trust. She's a skilled clinician and the best part of this office. Unfortunately, my most recent visit on July 22, 2025 was frustrating. I went in because I broke my Invisalign upper tray. What should have been simple turned into delays and unexpected costs. The X-rays took an unusually long time (the equipment seems outdated), and at the end I was left with a bill of around $2,000 for what the X-rays revealed. When I reviewed the itemized charges, I was told there was bone loss attributed to Invisalign treatment, and the cleaning for three quadrants was quoted at approximately $1,550--which is what many offices charge for a full-mouth cleaning. I was told my replacement trays would arrive within a week. It's now September 8, 2025--about 7 weeks (48 days) later--and I still haven't received a call. When I checked in, I was told not to contact them and that they would call me when the trays arrived. The lack of follow-through makes me feel forgotten, which is unacceptable after payment.This behavior is the norm in this location. During my Invisalign treatment this happened often until Dr, Wendy Hernandez took over. Bottom line: I can't say enough good things about Dr. Wendy Hernandez as a dentist and as a person. But the office operations--equipment, billing transparency, communication, and delivery of paid-for services--need serious improvement. Patients deserve excellent clinical care and reliable, timely service.

The whole process of getting a crown lasted a little over an hour and I left feeling like I was taken care of and I no longer had anything to fear. I was in need of a new dentist and was dreading the process of bad experiences until I found a good one. This time I hit the jackpot first time out. The hygienist, Carlos, did the exam and cleaning with a follow up of his work by Dr Schaake. I was amazed by the imaging technology. They created a 3D model of my teeth where they could be viewed at any angle. I'm approaching 80 and interested in keeping what have as long as I can. No braces or perfect smiles. What I received was a great job of cleaning and some good advice to reduce the sensitivity of exposed nerves. One cavity was discovered which was filled today. I'm thoroughly impressed with the care provided. The entire office staff are friendly and obviously enjoy working together. They are equipped with state of the art technology and are in a prime location surrounded by businesses that cater to a healthy lifestyle. The reasons why they earn five stars and are world class in my mind besides having state of the art equipment and the skills to use it. To begin with my appointments both came off on time and their waiting room wasn't crowded. Dr. Christopher Stanosheck thoroughly evaluated my tooth and crown. Luckily, he was able to re-cemented it back in place! It was good I went in, because I had bacteria and debris that had worked its way under the crown and it was irritating my gum, etc. He was able to clean that out and probably saved me from getting an infection and having a much bigger problem.
