An exceptional place to relax! Our cruise made a stop at Cozumel and we took an excursion to Isla Pasión we rested on the beach chairs, tried out the hammocks and the blow up trampolines. So much fun. The souvenirs are extremely overpriced. My sister bought something and realized afterwards that it was much cheaper to buy in the the center of Cozumel. Other than that, staff is super friendly, food is meh, didn't have the drinks but everyone seem to be more than happy with them!

I heard about this place through friends. Carnival suggested it as well. I certainly did not disappoint. The staff was awesome. Very helpful and funny. The sand was perfect. The water had a lot of seeweed, but that's ok. Included drinks and food. The drinks were a little weak, but you can drink all you want. Perfect for kids as well. They had a huge kid's area.

We booked this excursion through Carnival. Beautiful beach, good food and drinks and great place to relax. Value for money was fair. I recommend water shoes since the beach has lots of shells and rocks. One complaint....the tour guide Felipe pressured us over and over again to tip him. Then He solicited tips at the end of the excursion, holding a can labeled 'tips' and shaking it in front of all guests as they boarded the catamaran. It was pretty off putting, especially since I could not for the life of me, figure out why he deserved a tip. He just corralled all guests and got them on and off the catamaran boat. I tipped out of fear since he controlled the transportation back to the cruise ship. Ironically, the child care staff was amazing and totally attentive to the kids and never once hinted at a tip. Enjoy the 5 bucks Felipe. although the island is beautiful, we won't be back because we hate being hounded for tips.

The hubby went straight to the bar lol

Review Highlights - Isla de Pasion

For those who wouldn't want to ride the Twister they also have a Catamaran that's a much slower smooth ride.

Alright, here's what you need to know about this historic site…read more There are some really interesting things about this site, the longest Mayan Road, the arch for the gate, and some of the buildings are also fantastic. Even if they were rebuilt to some degree, they are pretty cool to checkout. There are plaques around the sites that explain things, but a guide will definitely help you time things better and keep you moving a little better. As far as historic sites go, I would give it a ~7/10, there is some interesting things to see, but limited. As other people have said, this feels like a scam in a couple places. The fact that you have to pay two separate entrance fees, then get solicited for a tour guide and pictures. But that's not too bad all things considered. A few tips, form your own group if you must, but the tour guide is per Group, not per person. Pack your own bug spray. Bring water. One of the entrance fees is cash only, so bring some cash too. As with all historic tours, it doesn't hurt to fact check. There were a few liberties taken with some details.

Chichén Itzá is a blockbuster; San Gervasio is an indie film with more heart…read more When you think of Mayan ruins, you probably picture the soaring temples of Chichén Itzá or the dramatic cliffs of Tulum. Cozumel doesn't have those giants -- but it does have San Gervasio, and if you're stepping off a cruise ship and want history without a full-day bus ride, this is a must-visit. San Gervasio was the island's most important Maya site, dating back to around 300 AD. It wasn't a military fortress or a massive city -- it was a sanctuary dedicated to Ixchel, the Maya goddess of fertility, love, and the moon. Women from across the Maya world would travel here on pilgrimage, offering gifts and prayers to Ixchel. That makes these ruins less about war and kings, and more about family, spirituality, and daily life. The site was rediscovered in the 19th century by explorers and archaeologists cataloguing Cozumel's Maya heritage. Unlike mainland ruins, San Gervasio's structures are smaller, smoother, and more subtle -- but they tell stories just as powerful. What You'll See: * The Temple of the Hands (Las Manitas): named for the tiny red handprints still visible on the walls, believed to have been left by the temple's ancient inhabitants. It's eerie and beautiful at the same time. * Several plazas, temples, and causeways (called sacbeob) connecting the structures. They may not tower over you, but they whisper a quiet history of community and ritual. * Nature everywhere -- iguanas sunbathing on stones, jungle paths that make you feel like you're uncovering something hidden. Walking San Gervasio feels different than bigger ruins. It's intimate, personal, almost contemplative. Instead of being overwhelmed by sheer size, you're struck by the human scale -- families, priests, women on pilgrimage. You can almost imagine what it felt like to arrive here centuries ago, carrying offerings to the goddess. Cozumel doesn't have skyscraper pyramids, but it has temples where women prayed to the moon. San Gervasio may not wow you with towering pyramids, but it delivers something more meaningful: a glimpse into everyday Maya life and their devotion to Ixchel. For cruise passengers, it's the perfect ruin excursion -- accessible, fascinating, and filled with stories etched into stone. If you want to truly touch Cozumel's past, this is where you start. San Gervasio isn't about conquering empires -- it's about connecting to something bigger. Watch out for Mosquitos. Pay the 1.00 for a spray down of off before your tour. Support the local economy.

The day before my kids got a really bad bacteria skin infection and couldn't go to the ships daycare. So my husband had to stay behind. We followed the instructions on where to go depending on where your boat docks. We were on royal Caribbean and they docked at a pier they don't usually dock at. This was due to the other dock was full. This company has our boat name information, they asked for it ahead of time. They could've asked the people working at the ports where our boat docked. So we docked at a different dock but in their print out instructions they tell you where to meet depending on your dock. So we go to the hooters they said to be at. We were there about 20 minutes early. When it was our tour time and no Carla we got a little worried. Then it was 30 minutes past our start of tour. We emailed them and tried to call, nothing. Thankfully the lady behind us happen to have Carla's personal number. So she called her. A guy showed up to pick us up about 15 minutes later. He informed us that the tour already. So he takes us to the dock and told us they have a shorter snorkeling tour that's $36 each. So I said ok since we already paid 54 it would be just $20 more. He said yes. So we said we'd do it since we didn't know what else to do and so much time passed. We got to the dock and Carla met us there. She was very very rude to us. She told us it was our fault we weren't at the dock we usually dock at. Somehow it's our fault we didn't dock at the normal spot. She didn't want to give out deposit because because we husband couldn't go. Said it's not her problem. She tried to get more money out of my dad and I. I couldn't believe she tried to blame us because we didn't dock at the normal spot. Even though we followed the instructions to where to go from our dock. The guy that drove us told Carla it was fine for us to just give $20 more. She was mad. Totally unprofessional lady. So rude and will just leave you and take your money. Our driver was very nice. I can't remember his name I think it started with a F. Our snorkel guide I believe Katie was very nice too. We also snorkel with a family that said they too weren't picked up at their hotel. They had to call and call to figure out what was going on. I know Carla is the lady in charge so this review is to her and her rude attitude and no apologies for not picking us up. Even though we did everything right and followed her instructions for the dock our boat went too.

I was curious to learn what the history was behind them but without any formal placard, I had to do some internet research. It's very beautiful, super peaceful, we learned some wonderful facts for sure. I also learned from a previous Yelp Commentator of the Goddess Ixchel who was often praised and worshiped by the Mayan women for good health and childbirth. Super interesting to know. Apparently it's so expanded, that you have to pass "phases," which are sections, so in Playacar Phase I and Phase II, you can definitely see it and there are shortcuts through a small jungle to the actual Xaman-Ha Ruins.
