There are few places that I absolutely have to visit when I'm in England and this is one of them!!!…read more England isn't known for great service but this place always has the best! They take reservations and your table will be ready. The food is outstanding. I'm taking my daughter to England this weekend (we are from Florida) and this is literally on our agenda the weekend we get in. The food is so flavorful and delicious. It's best to go with a lot of people so you can try a bit of everything! We loved everything we tried but the chicken tikka masala with the sweet naan with the honey is the best! We can't wait to have dinner there!!!

I've walked past this Indian restaurant many times but had never been in until my FIL's bday a few…read moreweeks ago. From the outside it looks like any other Indian place and once you get inside it's again pretty standard. The difference is the menu and the quality of the food. I had a really excellent fish pakora to start and then one of the chef's specials as a main. The naan bread (the make or break element of a curry for me) was perfect so I was very happy. It was really busy and people were being turned away on a Thursday evening which is always a sign of good food. As a result I'd recommend booking a table in advance. You can get the metrolink to Altrincham then a taxi down to Hale or the train goes all the way there. This place really stands out from some of the samey average/poor curry houses in south Manchester.

Yesterday seemed cursed for me when it came to eating out. After a disappointing lunch time I was…read morehoping a curry with some newly engaged friends who were over from Spain would cheer me up. I was wrong. Now I will add a disclaimer here - everyone else seemed happy with their meals, although like me they could have been keeping quiet and just focussing on the fact we were all together rather than the food. The poppadoms were ok, normal if unexciting pickle tray but I have quite high standards now for interesting pickles so I was not blown away by theirs. Even the 'hot' option was more like a raspberry sauce, pleasant but we wanted a bit of heat. The red onion, mango and mint were very commercial but fine. We had completely finished out poppadoms before they even took our food order which was not ideal. They did seem to get the mains out in a decent amount of time though. I'd asked for a recommendation between the two dishes I fancied and took the waiters advice. I had the chicken dish from the top of the specials menu that I wish I'd noted the name of properly now for this review. My main was not very warm (temperature not spice) and not not very nice. Medium/hot spice but lacking in actual flavour although the chicken pieces in it were a good size and quality which some Indians do fall down on. The onion rice was good but my plain naan was cold which made it unpalatable. Hungry other half (Dan F) ordered an extra mushroom rice half way through the meal and I found this very greasy and indefinitely wouldn't order it again. Dan F is sitting next to me currently saying his main was really enjoyable so I'm adding that in but after we had such a good experience down the road in Hale at Coriander a few weeks ago I'd definitely go there instead.

I have been to the Double Tree a number f times as also had a take out on a number of times. I had…read morethe balti sizzler and it was full of a variety of flavours and certainly recommended. A colourful mix on arrival and if you have it whilst sitting in it arrives as imagined in a sizzling pan. The chutney trays are great flavours and I have never had a disappointing meal from this place and choose it over any in the area. The tika balti jalfrezi is also a great dish.
