I contacted Waltz in a panic and, once they ascertained that we owned our tanks, they were able to get to us the same day and within a few hours and, after ensuring that everything was as it should be with our tanks, filled the tanks. I want to add that - as opposed to the former company, who did not respond to my emergency call inquiring as to where they were and ONLY called me back when I left a message saying they were no longer needed (and they called back seven minutes after *that* message) - each and every time I called Waltz & Sons the calls were answered promptly and courteously and my questions answered. Although I didn't appreciate the former company's "let them eat cake" and "we'll get back to you when it suits us" attitude, I consider that now that we are customers of Waltz & Sons, everything DEFINITELY ended up all for the best! I should add that the people who provided and installed our generator said that they have had a number of dealings with Waltz & Sons and recommended them highly. In addition, months before, I had compared prices for about six propane companies with Waltz coming in as the second least expensive and the company that never showed being least expensive, so paying a TINY BIT more to actually deal with a competent and efficient company that shows up has turned out to be well worth it.

Was transferred to the service department who answered with "Hello?!", as if they were angry at me. I'm thinking, "Is this the service desk? Who is this? Did I do something wrong, why's he mad?" I explained my issue quickly to absolute deafening silence. The man said "Yeah....You have to get it fixed.", as though I was an idiot. That's why I'm calling you. I said, "right," thinking maybe I hadn't explained the issue correctly. I described the three-handle setup, what was occurring, that I was aware of the stems and that maybe the O-rings or boot were just worn, but I had butted my head against it for a week and needed a professional. More. Silence. Long stretches of nothing. Then a dry and bothered tone said, "Yeah, you need to replace the parts. You can't just 'clean' them. You'd have to call up and order and replace the parts, sometimes the whole assembly........." I said, ".......Right. Soooo...." I mean am I supposed to order this?? If I knew the right part and could fix it, what am I calling you for? I said calmly but confused, "Is it something I can just go to the store for? I looked at the stem, but don't see a model number or brand or anything to get the right size and make. I'm also not sure if it is just that or if the whole assembly is having a problem." The half-asleep, half-bothered sounding gentleman replied with, "You have to have a tech come check it out for you.......Gerber's common........" Okay, are you training me to do your job or are you supposed to help me? So send a tech!! How about, "A tech will have to come out to help you, I can set that up now for you if you'd like!" No, he was halfway through another explanation of, I think, why this is my problem and not his when I just hung up. The entire call had the air of, "Okay, and what do you want me to do about it? I'm just a plumber." I didn't even get to the experience of working with these people because of this awful, patronizing phone etiquette. We are NYer's for now, but are going to be spending 1/2 of our time in the home we purchased last week in Wolfeboro. Today is Tuesday and we moved in Friday. This home has a very complex mixed system (radiant and baseboard) with 5 zones, old parts cobbled together by the builder, etc. It is a potential nightmare. First, I called the office and spoke with Jody and set up an account. She was awesome and helpful. I explained to her that I was concerned about the heating system and needed some help understanding it. She said "you need Troy, I spoke with him and he knows that system". Today, I meet Troy Glidden. He had called me a few times and he said he'd be able to stop by and walk me through things. So Troy just left, and what a top notch guy. He spent 30-45 minutes walking me through things, and I have a feeling that since the system is going to need some attention - that we are going to get to know each other well. He is a thoughtful, nice guy and he knows his stuff. He's going to be back to do a tune up and we will be addressing some issues with things here as we go. Troy is very impressive. Oh, and for today, no charge...he came out because I was a new customer and he knows the system. That doesn't happen in New York.

I spoke to half a dozen different HVAC providers and had 3 of them come to her home to do an estimate. Of all of them, Mike Greives of Dead River was the only one who took the time to explain the pros and cons of oil vs propane and what was the best solution for this home and her situation. Also, the price quoted from Dead River was the cheapest of all of the quotes I got. Not by a lot but it was the best price quoted of the three. When the time came for scheduling the service they worked with us to book the chimney person, the junk hauler, and took care of all of the details (which a few other companies told me I would have to arrange for!). They also accommodated our schedule since the work was done in the summer and was not an emergency call. On the days of installation, I have to shout out the professional work and wonderful attitude of Dale, Joe, and Dustin. They explained all of the details and left the space cleaner than it started! Even better because 3 people were sent they completed the install in 2 days instead of 3. I am so happy that I chose Dead River and believe you should consider them for a large project like the boiler replacement we had!
