I just finished my first Spanish class in over 20 years with Areli at OCLI. Wow! Areli is an incredible teacher -- I felt both met where I was at as well as pushed every day to grow more. What helps the most is that she uses multiple modes of teaching -- writing, speaking and listening -- in everyday real world situations. She broke down ideas that I spent months trying to understand (e.g. the subjunctive tense) in one easy to follow lesson. I can't continue taking another class right now due to work and home commitments this Spring, but I'm already eager to return. I've never considered myself anywhere near strong at altitude tests until Young's ACT tutoring! In…read moremy initial ACT diagnostic test, I received a 23 composite, nothing unusual from my previous preACT and PSAT scores in school. At the beginning, I lacked confidence, but I was open to improvement. Young's ACT classes were well-paced, making it easy to manage with my busy soccer schedule and 5 AP classes during junior year. They were also surprisingly enjoyable, and I looked forward to classes in the positive, motivating environment. Young is such a genuine and caring person, acting as a continuous cheerleader, even when progress seems to plateau. We focused on each section individually, gaining exposure and explanations to all possible question types based on past ACTs that Young reviewed. Each section came with a summarized packet of question types, rules, formulas, and approach methods, which I found extremely useful when reviewing for my test.  Before starting classes, I filled out the information sheet and wrote a score of 32 for my realistic ACT goal. In the end, I surpassed my goal with a 34, my most significant improvement being in the English section from a 21 to 35! I highly recommend Young's classes for comprehensive preparation, frequent practice tests, and an encouraging environment.

This fall, my son Peter, who is a Sophomore, took a practice ACT and scored well, but not up to his Ivy League ambitions. We thought we would have to go and sacrifice his entire summer at a place like Elite to get the scores up, but then we heard of this company. We called them in late February, and they claimed that with once a week sessions, they could get Peter ready by June, which astonished us. The service was absolutely excellent, our tutor, Mary, was incredibly skilled and professional, and they even provided all the necessary instructional materials. In the end, Matt's service surpassed our dreams. In April, after just five sessions, Mary gave Peter the go-ahead to take the ACT. He took the shot, and we were overjoyed when the scores came back. He had gotten a 35 on the ACT, a 3 point improvement on just over a month ago. He is now able to have a chance at any college whatsoever in just the tenth grade! I would eagerly recommend this service, and Mary in particular, to the family of any student who has to deal with these things.

Their 1 week summer camp involves introducing kids to Spanish words, with no real teaching of fundamentals such as sounds of each alphabet letter. It's purely "rote memorizing" of words and the kids are asked to answer questions the next day regarding the new words they learned. I mean - honestly, how does anyone learn like that? This summer camp was a waste of money, and a total bore for all ages. The teacher at summer camp was Cecilia - unprofessional, and makes students feel uncomfortable because she stares at them for no reason. Would not recommend this language class to any students between the age of 5-10 years old, as you are better off enrolling your kids in some other summer camp that is fun, educational, and engaging -- all of which this place is not. I'd also like to add that there appears to be some age-discrimination from Cecilia, as she called my child "OLD" in class. Not sure why that was warranted, but the camp is for 5-12 year olds, and there were definitely other 10 year olds in the class, so that seems very off-putting. The teacher also kept telling my child to quiet down when everyone else in the classroom was rowdy, loud, and also talking. I'm not sure why she would want to "target" my child, but it's ridiculous, and unprofessional. Definitely would not recommend her or this program. Upon looking at the other reviews in this listing, it appears that this place has also received multiple 1-star reviews. I'm not surprised.

However, I completely forgot about it, because of routines with my toddlers and business routines. A few weeks ago I realized that my legal status in the US was expiring and I didn't have a time to extend my current visa. I was confused and I didn't know what to do. Then, when I was walking with my kids, I found Poly Languages Institute right next to my home. I researched and found that Poly Languages has a business English program that will give me the opportunity to advance my business and be confident. They also have a great reputation. It is very important for me, because I would like to attend Business English classes. I viewed the school inside and I liked it. A lot of classrooms. Lots of space for students. Very lovely place. I was very happy that I found the place where I can solve both of my objectives. The other day I came to the school, where I met Melody and Jenny. They are very lovely and kind. They accepted me to their school and helped me to do all documentation work very carefully and professionally in a very short and limited time. I thought it's going to be impossible, because I asked for a help one week before I could lose my legal status, but they worked hard and made everything happen in the best way for me. It's unbelievable! I had a lot of troubles in the process of completing the forms, and Melody and Jen helped me again with the patience. I want to thank Melody and Jenny for your huge help and support!!! I really appreciate it!!! I strongly believe the Poly Languages Institute is the ideal place for me to achieve my goals and I can't wait to start my classes!!!

They only listened to me because I showed there with an American man twice my age (I'm was a 21 year old woman at the time) literally saw him and changed their attitude. THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IMMIGRANTS and the fact that English is not your fist language. There are so many other schools. Save yourself the heartache and waste of money and don't go here.
