This hotel exceeded my expectations. Got this as an express deal from Priceline for $114/night. These rooms normally go for $200+ per night on the Marriott website. Got here around noon and was able to check in early which is a major plus. Check in agent was friendly and I was in and out from the front desk with my room key in under 5 minutes. Room was one of the best I have stayed in. The no carpet was a plus. Very clean and beds were super comfortable. Could not find one single issue with this room or stay. The $37/night parking is a bit expensive but since I got such a great deal on the room, I didn't mind at all. If I am in the area, I'd definitely stay here again and recommend to others. read more

Update: This is a good marriott. It's clean, safe, nicely upgraded, all the things. The M Club can't be beat as far as Orange County locations go, and the location is super convenient. This was the second time we've done the park and fly rate since our last review. Park and fly is always a disaster at this hotel. This time, for example, at check-in, the attendant who checked us in said "Oh, I see you have the park and fly rate, just hold onto your key and use it to leave the lot when you pick your car up next week. Don't use the ticket you get when you enter or you'll be charged for the whole week." My husband and I carefully kept both keys, but of course, it was not that simple. Tried both keys leaving, neither worked. We proceeded inside where the employees first said they don't offer park and fly, then said we needed to scan our original entry ticket not a room key (the first employee specifically told us NOT to do this or we'd be charged for the whole week), then said she could look up our reservation, but needed the confirmation number. Ultimately, she gave us some kind of ticket to get out. Better training is needed at the front desk. read more

Our stay here was quite mixed, but overall, a good experience. I guess anywhere has it's pros and cons, but I think overall the pros outweighed the cons, and I'd stay here again if I couldn't find another location. Checking in was easy enough, and the staff were very helpful in finding us a room we wanted with specific views. Right next to the check in is a cute tiny little "store" with essentials and drinks etc, so after a long flight, it was nice to go in there and get a drink while we waited to get our keys. We get to the room and it was clean and had the two double beds we requested and the views we wanted. Everything seemed warm and inviting. The only things I would "complain" about during the course of our stay, was that the floors and side table grew a little dusty during the visit. Yes, the floors were washed, but seeing as there's no carpet in the rooms, they show up dust quickly and one of our tables was NOT washed/wiped and dust was very evident. They also make the beds with very ill fitting sheets that don't sit over the mattress entirely, and if you toss and turn a little, you'll wake up with no undersheet under you and that's kind of gross. The hotel itself is reasonably priced, and in a good area as far as being in the middle of various things. You can't go out of the hotel on foot and find a lot of shops/restaurants in the immediate vicinity (though there are a few here and there). To us, the location was smack in the center of things like South Coast Plaza, Irvine Spectrum, Fashion Island, the beaches and various other towns that are nice to visit. They have a Starbucks on the property, though that seemed to be closed on the weekend which was a bit of a bummer, and they have their own bar/restaurant. The food there was nice enough, but with so many nearby places to drive to, it's not essential to have to eat there unless you want convenience. Valet is a bit overpriced, and that service was definitely hit or miss, but convenient too, nonetheless. Overall, as I mentioned, I would stay here again. For the most part it's clean and inviting, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Being a stone's throw from the 405 helps too, and makes it very easy to access. read more

The fitness center is well equipped, the pool and lounge areas are modern, the cleaning staff are thorough without the need for a cleaning request, and the room was modern and spacious. The only thing I can critique is the parking. $40 per night when the room is also paid for, adding to the expenses, and it's limited. Absolute worst experience I have ever had at a Marriott hotel. Typically I only stay at Marriott hotels when traveling. I frequent the Marriott company for business and vacation. Typically I always enjoy my stay. This particular hotel is not upfront with all fees or policies even when you ask them multiple times. I called and spoke with three employees pre-stay and at check in who gave me conflicting information surrounding their pet policy which is also not available on their website outside of a flat fee. Expect an additional 1-$200 in fees for a 2 star hotel experience. Experience rivals that of a motel. Facilities aren't very clean, there were dead cockroaches on the balcony that I paid extra for. Your view is directly into office buildings with no privacy at all. The Air condition doesn't work well. Their speak east bar experience is not worth the price and good luck with communication and poor customer service. The bathroom in our king room was small, dirty, and had several code violations. I would not recommend staying here. You could find pretty much any other nice , if not luxury hotel for the same cost with a lot less trouble. Our vacation was completely ruined, we were scheduled to stay for 4 nights and had to leave a concert early , and cancel the treat of our trip due to staff poor communication. It took me 11 months to accrue the vacation time needed for this trip and I lost all of my time and half of what we were supposed to pay for 4 nights in one. read more

Also, I booked a king bedroom, but when I arrived they game double queen bedroom bedroom and when I called they told me that they only have this available. My family and I recently stayed at the Marriot Irvine and were very impressed. From our front desk experience with Alan to the pool and the fantastic coffee shop we were thoroughly impressed. The rooms are very nice and well decorated. The staff was incredibly friendly and hospitable. At one point I was rushed to get the wedding flowers from our room and the Director of Operations, George, happened to be in the Lobby. He saw I was a bit panicked and stopped everything he was doing to help. I've worked in hotels for many years and I must say this hotel is quite impressive! read more

Finally as a very prolific Marriott customer; I find a hotel that has clean, modern comfortable rooms that make travel, even business travel,better! I am already 10 nights in at Marriott and it's January and prior to this, my experience has not been great but this property was the exception The room is modern and bright. It has faux hard wood floors not grimy carpet and light modern fixtures. The bathroom was bright and airy with plenty of towels and it was pretty spacious. The one call out is the fact that there is no wardrobe , just a bar above the safe which will not accommodate much and certainly not longer items such as dresses The lobby is also bright and modern with a full Starbucks, bar, small store, Fed-Ex and even a small speakeasy which was a pretty impressive touch. The concierge lounge is one of the better ones I have seen, big, modern and plenty of seating! It had a great breakfast with different signature dishes of the day, fruit, oatmeal , pastries and Starbucks coffee. There is the usual tea, coffee and snacks throughout the day and a selection of different dishes in the evening! Definitely impressed with this Marriott property! read more

I am reviewing for a stay and for a wedding anniversary we hosted at Irvine Marriott. Wedding Anniversary: We, like many other couples, struggled with multiple postponed weddings and having to look for different venues. We had to completely change our whole wedding! New church and new venue. Thankfully, Irvine Marriott was able to accommodate us and we were so happy with how everything turned out! We worked with Maxine Pingarron and Riley Salas. Maxine helped us book our date and connected us to Riley. We worked with Riley for the food, drinks, and coordination of our event. Riley was a GEM! She gave us reassurance prior to our event and helped the whole night flow so smoothly on the day of our event. She sent us some chocolate covered strawberries and champagne the night after our event. She was also available to us the day after our event in order to answer any questions and help us with anything else. We had no issues whatsoever! Riley also helped us with a last minute reservation for our rehearsal dinner which we held on the pool deck near their grass area. It was a wonderful, casual event, just as we had wanted. Our guests had a wonderful time relaxing by the pool and enjoyed the food. We rented the Catalina Ballroom which was detached from the hotel. This was wonderful to separate our guests from the hotel guests. There was a perfect outdoor area for our cocktail hour. The ballroom was beautiful and fit our 150 guests very comfortably. There are also private restrooms within the ballroom. We appreciated this so that our guests did not have to go to the main hotel lobby to use the restroom. The waitstaff during our event was so professional and outstanding! Our guests had a HOOT at the bar and LOVED the food! We were able to request signature drinks to represent my husband and I. My husband had a whiskey mule for "his" drink and I had a berry mojito for my drink. Both were delightful! I am biased, but I definitely think my berry mojito was better . Our tasting with the executive chef went so well prior to the event. It was a buffet, not a tasting! We loved it! We were so full from all of her delicious food. We decided on the dual salmon and short rib plate and our guests had nothing by great things to say after our event. Delicious! Hotel Stay: The hotel was very clean and what we expected. Our guests were all comfortable in their rooms and had no complaints. We booked two suites that were much larger than we expected which was perfect for getting ready photos with our wedding party prior to our wedding anniversary. The hotel has a pool, jacuzzi, gym, Starbucks, and restaurant. We were able to enjoy the Starbucks and restaurant but due to our busy schedule with our wedding events, we were not able to enjoy the other wonderful amenities. However, all the facilities looked clean and were accessible to all of the guests. We loved the Irvine Marriott so much! My wife, 1.5 year old son, and I stayed here from July 1st - 5th. We had an exceptional time. We paid a little extra to have access to the M club and the room with the view. The M club did not disappoint. It was so convenient to have a well arranged variety of food laid out for us. Fresh coffee beans grinded every morning, carbonated water on draft (my son's favorite!), and the food was really good too. We also had M club access to cold bottled waters our entire stay, snacks during the day, and food/dessert at night as well. You will be glad you paid the little extra for it! Upon day of checkout, my wife was wearing sandals and in her brilliance, decided to kick her luggage to get it over a crack while exiting our room, which happen to rip her skin off from under her toenail. Carlos, a hotel employee, was right around the corner and came to our aid. He called for first aid and they did an amazing job patching my wife's toe up! Great work boys! That was not an easy task considering my wife freaks out at the sight of blood and goes into panic mode when in pain (should've seen her in labor, those nurses/doctors earned their paycheck that day). And to continue to give Carlos kudos, he noticed the predicament I was in with a hurt wife, tons of luggage, and a 1.5 year old. Went down to lobby to get us a bell cart, brought us waters, and helped me load the bags into the car. In closing, just wanted to give one last shout out to the Irvine Marriott hotel staff ( specifically those working in the m club, security that responded with first aid, and the real MVP Carlos, I believe he was the hotels engineer). Clean and modern Marriott property, there are lots of great amenities from the outdoor pool, outside workout area, pelotons, oversized foosball, virtual topgolf, list goes on. This hotel is one of the updated properties. It is amazing here from the beached theme lobby with the decorative surfboards throughout, to the M Club lounge located on the ground floor. Check-in was swift and prompt. The room was modern, spacious, and most importantly comfortable. I had no issues with my stay here. Their M Club had a stand up steamer/pressing machine that I just had to try out. This is more suitable for garments that require dry-cleaning because the downside was that it took an hour. Access is available at all hours and it was stocked with light snacks and a variety of non-alcoholic drinks. Best highlight was the Starbucks espresso machine. I only wish their M Club lounge had alcohol available at all hours, but I can understand why they don't. read more

This place was absolutely beautiful! I have stayed at many Irvine hotels, and I plan to make this my go-to for overnights. The view was so enchanting, the bathroom was nice, and it had one of the most comfortable beds I've ever experienced in a hotel. However, the parking was SUPER expensive, and the Wi-Fi was not free. This would be an ideal location for someone who wants a quick luxury setting. It is not ideal for a long stay (especially with kids) since the parking is so high ($40/night), the sitting area is tiny, and the breakfast options are pretty expensive. I might suggest a different Irvine option (a competitor nearby) for families or longer stays, but for a quick overnight, this would be a great option. read more

Wife attended a convention at this hotel, giving me my first opportunity to go to Disneyland since 2003! Wife used the free shuttle to go from the Santa Ana airport 0.7 miles away to the hotel, while I used ride sharing to go to Disneyland 14 miles away. We didn't have a car, but if you park here, expect to pay $29 overnight, not at all unusual in this area adjacent to the Irvine business center. No on street parking allowed nearby. We got a special convention rate of $105 per night. For such a rate, we got a less desirable 5th room facing the 8 lane freeway 100 yards to the northeast. Only direct sunshine in the early morning, into the room. Non openable windows the full width of the room, to keep freeway noise noticeable but not obtrusive.. 5 elevators in the lobby for access to 17 floors, with blue and white lights. Background disco music. Unit was about 10' x 20' or 200 square feet, with gray laminate wood tile floors. No dirt on the bottoms of my barefoot feet, after walking for hours over the tile. They do mop the floor before each new guest comes! Ultra modernistic interior, with white laminate desktop, and dresser. Dresser to ceiling TV stand in built into the wall. Floor to ceiling king bed headboard. Windows the full width of the room, with both sheer and blackout curtains. Good sound insulation in walls, floors and ceilings, as did not hear footfalls of people above us on the tile floors. Freeway noise audible but non obstructive. Room comes with coffee maker, mini refrigerator, electronic safe capable of holding a 22" laptop, desk with lamp, sitting chair and ottoman next to a standing lamp, table tray for refreshments. Multiple electrical plugs in the 2 nightstand bed lamps, and in the TV stand next to the desk. 5 wheel desk chair. 50" HD cable TV.No microwave oven. Bathroom 5' x 7' on the small side, but with elegant circular mirror, over white laminate sink countertop. Modernistic detachable shower hose that can be held like a wand to wash hair. Bathroom door has an opaque window, a first for a sliding door. Strong continuous wifi available free to Marriott members -wife joined for free. The more desirable rooms facing the west and south over the parking lot have floor to ceiling sliding balcony windows with narrow balconies, wide enough only for standing. The higher the room the less highway noise. Large exercise equipment room, huge 75' swimming pool with 76 person capacity, and large hot tub with 14 person capacity. Lawn bowling, ping pong table and large hand operated football pinball machine. Giant chessboard with 2' pieces, next to pool. Lobby has TVs, bar, fireplace and pool table. Ice machines but no soda machines. Starbucks downstairs, as well as Floe Lounge. Mini market with sodas and snacks next to front desk. Business computer for printing out airline boarding passes. This Marriott located in a business center, unlike the Marriott Irvine Spectrum which is located 0.7 miles from the giant shopping center. Nearby restaurants include: Hiro Nori 0.5 miles away, Panini Kabob Grill 0.8 miles away, Houston's 0.7 miles away, Il Fornio's 0.3 miles away. 24 hour fitness with huge Olympic size pool 0.25 miles away across Von Karman Ave. Irvine Spectrum center 8 miles away. Disneyland 14 miles away. Nearest grocery market is Mother's Market & Kitchen 0.7 miles away, if you don't want to lose your shirt paying for sodas and snacks at the Mini market at the front desk! read more

After 5 years we came back to have a nice little break before school starts. I would say we still loved it, except that the pool is not that clean. Ver nice and quiet location. Room is comfy and we love our view, it's a quiet area. Unfortunately the billiards table is not available. The lounge is always open for members with status, where u can get drinks and breakfast, breakfast is simple American bfast. The pool closed late which is nice, and a lot of stuff to play in the pool area, so u think it's great for kids. Maxwell checked us in, and he's very professional and friendly, he was very nice and we felt very welcomed. Above and beyond service, I wish all the people at Marriott are like them. We love Marriott because of their great service they provide. I even forgot my phone in the room we still got it, the housekeeping brought it to lost and found, thank you very much. Definitely one of the few hotels in Irvine I would highly recommend. I love when hotels have wide windows and allow for lots of natural lighting. The room we stayed in (1 King), was very comfortable and decorated beautifully. The only thing I will say is that parking is quite expensive at $42 per day just for self parking. Also, definitely consider opt-ing in for the M-Club. This includes a fantastic continental breakfast along with complimentary coffee and snacks 24/7. I'd stay here again! read more

I work at the Irvine Towers so I stayed here few times after business trips but this time was one of THE WORST experiences that I had. I came here for some time away to relax and get some rest. Totally backfired. 1. Upon arriving into my room I noticed that there was melted candle wax on the table. Few minutes later, I found artificial rose petals under the bed. Is staff even cleaning the room? I figured rooms should be extra clean during this time but nope. 2. Mid-day... of ALL rooms they had to place a family next to my room. Kids screaming - adults yelling... Couldn't even nap. I was going to ask to change my room but held off as I didn't want to pack again. 3. This is when things got UGLY. So I am trying to sleep around Midnight-1AM. LOUD music blasting across the room. Literally a full on party going on. People screaming, slamming the door. I called the hotel staff and security came. I guess it was only a warning because at 3AM it happened AGAIN. I tried calling front desk for 20 minutes straight and nothing. I had to go downstairs to the lobby myself ring the bell and wait for staff to come out. The only person working was "on a break". Well I ended up sleeping at like 4AM when staff actually got the job done. Seriously, why do you have everyone stay across from each other during this time when there are SO MANY ROOMS available? space it out or something. TERRIBLE experience and disappointed on how the staff handled this. Paid a lot of money to relax and ended up being more tired. read more

I am a Bonvoy member and received my benefit gift with 5 free room upgrades. I submitted for the upgrade, and it was accepted by Marriott Irvine. When I arrived at my room, it was not upgraded and two of my upgrade credits were deducted. I spoke to their service department, and they were rude and unhelpful. I asked if I could just have my upgrade credits back and they said I had to call the benefits department for Marriott Bonvoy. Well I did this and they told me the hotel was who needed to fulfill this request. I filed a case and the manager reached out to me saying they would update me when it was fixed. This was 4 months ago. I have sent two emails to the manager who reached out asking for an update, and never heard back. I ended up not staying there because of their attitude. If they had resolved the issue, perhaps I would have tried another visit (I travel to that area a lot), but the lack of response was the nail in the coffin. All I asked for was a little customer service. I needed the larger room becuase I had my daughtr with me and needed to work. I would have booked the larger room if I had not had an upgrade benefit from my loyalty, but they did not give me that chance. 0 stars for customer service and not addressing a loyal customers concerns. read more

My husband and I decided to take a last minute trip to visit a friend in Huntington Beach. We were grateful that the Irvine Marriott had rooms available and that we were able to enjoy the M Club lounge. The M Club is open 24 hours a day and has complimentary breakfast, light dinner, dessert and all day water, juice, soft drinks, coffee and snacks. There is also a complementary shuttle from the airport to the hotel but we decided to rent a car. Self parking is $35 dollars a night and valet parking is $39.00. The hotel recently completed a redesign and has a modern feel to it. Our room was very comfortable and super clean. The colors were soothing and the linens are upgraded. Room service is available and you can go green by electing not to have your room serviced. If you decide to go green you receive 500 Marriott Rewards Bonus points. I think I had a very different experience here because we came with our children's sports team and I thought the group rates and overnight self-parking rates were fair. And we were treated well - they welcomed us and made us feel valued. Check in was smooth and easy. Our room was clean. The front desk said we were given a free upgrade with a balcony but it was very small - 'free upgrade' does sound good though! It's a great property with lots of open sitting areas in the lobby. The hotel bar & restaurant is fine - nothing too exciting but sure is convenient! If you're a M Club member, I hear the M Club Lounge has lots of great free food and drinks. From our first check in experience with Abel and the concierge (didn't catch his name) everything has exceeded our expectations!!! The customer service at this location is 10/10! Lately at other hotels it seems as though customer service is nonexistent anymore- we'll not at this hotel. I was pleasantly shocked by how courteous and genuinely kind all the staff were, from the check in to the coffee stand to even the amazing pool bar staff! The location itself was perfect for traveling to the beach during the day and catching dinner at night, the parking was a bit higher than other locations in the area but there really isn't another option, there's no free parking near by. The pool was nice and clean, they had fun options for the kids to play and a generous amount of seating. They lobby was clean, great atmosphere, they had alive music when we checked in and the guest sang beautifully! We had a king room, which was spacious, clean, ac worked perfect! The shower was nice and clean, offered the basic shampoo, conditioner and body wash- which was great since we had forgotten ours. Overall I give this place a 10/10 I can't wait to go back! read more

I had a very nice stay. The fitness room was alright. They had a Life Fitness universal cable machine. That's good but..... you need more than just handles as attachments. You need bars and maybe triangles. The treadmills were nice too. A nice touch was the iced to cool eucalyptus wash clothes in the fitness room. The rooms and lounge were very good. Shower alright. One note about the lounge, they need to have newspapers and maybe a work station, so while through the day, is loungers can go in lounge and chill. Maybe do some work too. Rooms are loud and noisy by the freeway and no matter how much we begged they wouldn't let us change rooms! We got 0 sleep 3 nights. Food here is crazy expensive too. They also tried to charge us for stuff we never ordered??? No one on the entire volleyball team had a good experience lots of complaints and we won't be staying here again. Location! Location ! Location! Nice Hotel near UCI and SNA Airport with shuttle to the hotel. We stayed here for 1 night and our experience was exceptional from start to finish. This Hotel is beautiful ! Catered for Business Trips with On site business center FEDEX or just relax and enjoy the amenities of this hotel. Staff at the front desk greeted us and helpful to information. Using the APP I was able to checkin early and access my room key. Parking they have self park at the front side of hotel not a long walk or Valet. Entry way they have a water station and when you walk in it's spacious open layout with your check in desk , lounge area with a pool table lots of seats to get comfortable and chill , the bar , starbucks ,MCLub Lounge, hotel MARKET , to pick up items you may have forgotten even a spare diaper before you freak out and have to run to the nearest store it's stocked. The theme sand and surf cool atmosphere even a fireplace. The Room very clean with a king bed that was comfortable with a nice sofa with a table , large tv screen , walk in showers and mini fridge , safe , coffee maker. MClub Lounge it's open 24/7 but after midnight we wanted something to drink and they were already out of water bottles and orange, but the starbucks coffee machine was a plus for us to make our own decaf lattes OH LOVE IT!!! in the morning you have a HOT BREAKFAST BUFFET they offered breads for toasting , quiche , fruits, oatmeal , yogurt , cereals , scrambled eggs, sausages that were i think a little bit overcooked , pastries huge dinning area with sofa's high top tables facing the pool with usb/electric plugs and they offer wine service with a fee on evenings they offer dessert and hors d'oeuvres. check out was a snap again using hotel app I would return again possible stay longer and just relax read more

We had a beautiful Seder dinner here in their ball rooms. Setting was very nice. The room could've used more A/C. Not pictured, but the dinner was pretty good. Started out with matzo ball soup (not hot enough, it was tepid and the matzo balls were SO DENSE). Some vegetarians got a nice generous portion of salad (I would've liked to have that instead). The main course was chicken breast w like a teriyaki glaze, broccoli rabe, carrot and garlic mash. IT was cooked to perfection. Not sure how they kept the chicken so moist, tender and warm! Service was a bit lack luster. They missed having pitchers of water on all the tables. I had to ask the ladies in charge, and then 1.5 hrs into the event finally we got some water. I was so thirsty, thought I would pass out LOL. Then they also forgot the boiled eggs for our table. Nonetheless everything was quickly resolved. Their coffee is outstanding. read more
