Called to see if early check in was possible. They were able to accommodate to noon instead of the usual 3pm. They asked if the second floor was okay and it was for our group. However, I noticed there are stairs only and no elevator so not very ADA friendly if they run out of rooms on the first floor. Overall the room and beds were clean. No bugs. Would stay again. TV with Roku remote and good amount of tv channels, mini fridge and microwave in the room. Would stay here again if in the area.

This is an affordable and clean place to stay right in the heart of Costa Mesa. The staff was very nice and helpful. It definitely isn't the Ritz Carlton, but if that's what you are looking for then go stay at the Ritz. OC hotel is just perfect for the price.

Staff are professional and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Loved the location, near dog park, freeways and OC Fairgrounds. Plenty of places to walk too. They offer a veteran discount, which is always awesome! I'd def recommend this place to friends and family!

NO hospitality at all very cold in terms of the family that works there you can tell it's literally just for the all mighty Dollar there was bugs in my room pillows are so hard couldn't sleep I came early and the asked for a extra $20 in cash because I was there at 12:30 not 3 pm I shows the lady the online pricing was $102 total she was tring to charge me $140 so over all I am not going to stay there again if people only treat you like a number and not a person no good

I did a reservation . So at the time I get there they told me You know what we are sold out. This is not a serious business.

Megan and Rose were very sweet and informative. the bed was sooo comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

I was in Irvine California for a two-day business meeting and my company booked this hotel for us to stay in, and from the outside, I have to say I wasn't very impressed. But once I walked into the room, I have to say I was pleased. Now don't get me wrong we've stayed at nicer locations, but for the price and the distance from the seminar, this is a great place to stay if you're in Costa Mesa. Could it be better? Yeah, but then I just be nitpicking.

Strange red mark, possible blood again.

The hotel is right off the freeway but don't worry it's not noisy at all. We were able to check in 1.5 hour earlier than check in and it was free of charge, which was amazing. We booked the standard king sized room and it had plenty of space. It was very clean. Water pressure was okay and rooms temperature was well regulated with the air conditioner. I'd definitely stay here again. Only downside was that we had to pay $30 a day for parking. Not sure why. They had their own private parking lot and garage. It consistently delivers a 5-star experience every time. The entire front desk team is outstanding -- truly all great staff. A special thank you to Alexander, Alex, and Jocelyn, but honestly everyone we've encountered has been welcoming, professional, and efficient. They consistently make check-in smooth and ensure we feel valued as returning guests. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and very spacious. After long workdays, it's great coming back to a quiet, relaxing space. The beds are cozy, and the layout gives plenty of room to unwind. We also really enjoy the on-site restaurant and bar. It's convenient, has a great atmosphere, and makes evenings easy when we don't want to go far. The pool and hot tub area are another highlight -- clean, well-maintained, and perfect for relaxing after a busy day. The location is ideal for business travel. It's very close to John Wayne Airport and just minutes from South Coast Plaza, which is great for dining and shopping. Overall, this hotel consistently checks all the boxes for us -- friendly staff, comfortable and spacious rooms, excellent amenities, and a convenient location. We'll continue staying here throughout the year.

The location is perfect--it is so conveniently close to the university. We arrived a bit past check-in, and the staff was professional and welcoming. I will say the outside of the hotel didn't quite match the inside; the interior decor has an older European feel with luxury accents. Our room was quite large with two queen beds, but I did not care for the carpet at all. It felt dated, matching some of the older decor downstairs. The shower and bathroom were clean and modern, though I only realized the body wash was empty once I was already in the shower, which was a bit annoying. (I had to ask the front desk to have housekeeping refill it the next day). That said, I actually loved the scent of the products! Also, I initially thought the mini-fridge wasn't working, but it eventually kept our items cool. While the beds were a bit firmer than I prefer, the pillows were very nice. I called the front desk a few times and they were always helpful and accommodating. We didn't have enough time to try the restaurants or sit in the courtyard, but we passed the gym a few times; had we stayed longer, we definitely would have worked out there. Parking is $24/night, which people may not be fond of, but after researching the area, that seems to be a common theme. Overall, I think the property needs a remodel--specifically, they should pull up the carpets. I didn't feel comfortable walking on them barefoot. Definitely a hidden gem in Newport Beach…read more We have stayed at many hotels and resorts in the area over several years but this was our first time here. Located across the highway from Newport Harbor, you can walk to several restaurants and resorts. Depending on how far you would like to walk, you can walk to beautiful Balboa Island. It was a 7 mile walk to, from and around the island. I don't know if the hotel has been renovated recently but it was the nicest Holiday Inn Express we have ever stayed at over the years. You can't tell from the outside as it does look older. We arrived at 4:00pm and our room was ready. The front desk staff we felt with over the two days we were here were very friendly. The lobby and dining area were bright and spacious. Although they serve breakfast, we didn't have a chance to take advantage of this amenity. There is a beverage cooler and a small market for snacks. There is also a small outdoor pool where several people were enjoying the water. Our room was located on the 2nd floor next to the elevator but we never heard the elevator, only people getting on/off as there is a tile floor. The room was clean and nice. Coffee, refrigerator, soap, shampoo, conditioner, hand lotion, etc. A lighted mirror which was very nice. The shower was bright and looked new. Sitting area, desk and a bench in the room. We thought it was great. A little lower priced than most hotels in the area and was nicer than some of the more expensive hotels.

We tried to check in early but there was not a King room available until closer to check in time. Both the guys that were working the front desk were very professional and courteous. They genuinely tried their best to be accomadating and helpful. There was plenty of parking for $22 a night and the lobby had lots of seating and was clean. The room we got was on the 2nd floor and literally right in front of the elevator doors. It was definitely a poor design to have rooms right there. It was pretty loud anytime a group was exiting the elevator. Also, the hotel is located near a main road and can get a little loud from the cars speeding down. Thankfully I brought my sound machine which helped drown out some of the noise. The room itself was clean but definitely could use a deep clean. The pillows were nice and perfectly fluffy, the bed itself was a little more firm than I like. The room had a fridge and microwave which is always convenient. The complimentary breakfast was actually pretty good, they had all of the basics and biscuits and gravy that actually tasted really yummy. They also had high protein yogurt which was a great option. We don't live far from Newport but had a lot of activities planned in the area for Valentines and did not want to spend it all on the hotel since we were not going to be in the room much. This hotel was affordable and made our getaway convenient as well. It was overall a good stay and did the job.

However, if you're a light sleeper like me, there is a specific way to play your stay here to get the best of both worlds: luxury and silence. The Room Strategy (3rd Floor Corner): We requested the quietest spot possible and were placed in a corner room on the 3rd floor, right across from the executive boardroom, which is a small meeting space. While the view was not anything to write home about because it was partially obscured by the "tent" structure near the pool, the tradeoff was perfect. Being at the far end of the hallway meant almost zero foot traffic. You can occasionally hear a faint toilet flush from a neighbor, but otherwise, it was impressively still. The room itself was surprisingly spacious for two queen beds. It honestly felt like a wheelchair-accessible layout in terms of floor real estate, even though the bathroom was standard. It was cozy, impeccably clean, and lived up to the Westin reputation for comfort. The Amenities and Vibe: The Pool: It is rare to find a hotel pool that goes down to 9 feet deep! It was kept at a perfect, cool lukewarm temperature. As a pro tip, grab a seat by the top part of the waterfall as it creates a great atmosphere. Service: I have to echo what others have said about the staff. The concierge was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to be accommodating, which is impressive considering how busy they were for the holiday. Location: You really are just a block away from South Coast Plaza. It is a very short and pleasant walk to some of the best shopping and dining in Orange County. Verdict: If you want the convenience of being near the mall but are worried about the noise of a busy hotel, ask for a corner room near the meeting spaces. It is the ultimate quiet sanctuary hack. I will definitely be staying here again!
