Shuttle from airport was great but it doesn't begin until 5:0am so with an early flight outbound, plan on uber or Lyft. I used Uber because we can request a female driver. I was there for a conference so it was a 5 night stay for me. My 7th floor room was clean & had a balcony (not used by me). I didn't realize I had reached silver status so I was surprised at checkin by a letter with a coupon for a drink & pastry at the Starbucks & a drink at the bar. No hot water one morning but it was fixed by that afternoon & they gave me some extra points for the inconvenience. See photos of room. If I were designing a hotel room, I'd change 3 things here: add a hand held shower head, put a microwave over where the coffee station is, & a fridge with freezer instead of without one. I was there to attend a conference for the weekend and stayed one night. Guest services was very friendly and helpful. My check-in was easy and they did recognize me as a Hilton honor member which was amazing! The hotel is huge with a large lobby and dining available. There was no issues that I encountered except the broken escalator during the conference. I got a two queen room, which was very spacious, clean and had a balcony. However, this hotel is very dated and it was seen in the room. It's very dark, furniture is old, and just need some modern updates. Room service was great and my food came quickly, and it was delicious! What's also great about this hotel that is right off the 405 freeway , and very close to South Coast, Plaza and other dining area areas. Location is great! read more

The rooms are huge! Compared to other hotels I have frequented, the rooms here were double the size...and they have large balconies too. The hotel, rooms, bathrooms, etc. are a bit dated but the place is of good value despite its age. The location is also prime! There are great food options like Japanese Katsu (KAGURA) and Roman style Pizza (SUGO) nearby within walking distance. A bit further is the shopping mall, so you have everything within striking distance. The airport is about 15 minutes away so its close enough to get to your flight but far enough not to hear planes passing thru. I'd stay here again, but to each their own. read more

I'm actually wishing to give this place 3.5 stars, but there are no half stars. It's not a bad hotel, but they do have some negatives that keep me from giving it 4 stars and up. For the positives, they have: great meeting spaces, a good restaurant in-house, and a very hospitable team in the front lobby. One negative was that our room seemed musty or humid for some reason. I woke up and my book that I left out was moist. There were times that our meeting space was extremely cold. And our floor had floor fans out our entire stay for some reason. I wouldn't mind coming back to stay again, because it's still an above average hotel with a lot of good restaurants and stores in the surrounding area. read more

I can't believe the low Yelp reviews on this place. I've stayed at this place multiple times and each time has been really good. It's spacious, clean has plenty of self parking... Although you pay $45 a day for it but that's kind of standard right? People at the front desk were great and friendly, helpful, and eager to get you into your room as quick as possible. We had brought our pet with us and they were very accommodating with that, It was only an extra 50 bucks to bring our furry friend. This particular token had a Starbucks in it which made it convenient as we were in town for a show and had to get up early to go to the event. Overall comedy experience was very pleasant and the price was actually really good.. I used the hotels.com app and was able to find a screaming deal. So definitely check that out if you're going to go. Bottom line? If I'm ever in Orange county and need to get a a room I think I would definitely stay here again. The $45 a day parking is a little steep but hey I can get it real estate in Orange county. Is that a premium. read more

I have been to this Hilton hotel numerous times for conferences. They provide breakfast and lunch and the food is okay. The conference rooms are clean and well stocked with water. The parking can be a nightmare and they often run out and you'll need to park in the adjacent parking structure, which sucks because you never know if your conference will cover the cost. Other than the parking being an issue, I'd say this is a pretty nice venue if you are attending a conference. read more

I understand this is Orange County and a Hilton. But the room is extremely old fashioned and dirty. The towel in the bathroom had something like a blood stain on it. Sure it was washed most likely many times, but for a $300 standard room at least throw that away and use a new clean towel that's not permanently stained. I feel like that's unacceptable. Came here for our Scouting Orange County Council awards banquet to see our new Eagle Scouts be honored as well as see some of our adult leaders be given their Silver Beaver awards. The venue is always well staffed, with sufficient parking, the food is consistently good, and the facilities are clean and well kept - with enough room to fit and feed everyone comfortably. I'm sure we'll be back again next year - the location is central to our footprint, and they take good care of us. :) read more

I stayed at the Hilton Costa Mesa with my one-year-old son during a move. We trusted the hotel's valet service with a U-Haul carrying everything we owned after being told it would be safe. By morning, it was gone--along with everything inside. What's even harder to process is that the hotel noticed the U-Haul was missing around 1 AM during a shift change while we were still asleep in our room, and no one told us. They simply assumed we had left, without verifying. We woke up to shattered glass and our entire life stolen. Our belongings were later located at an encampment under a freeway overpass, destroyed and unsanitary. We were warned about serious health risks just trying to recover anything. The experience was deeply traumatic, especially with a one-year-old, and the lack of accountability or even basic communication from the hotel made it far worse. No one should go through something like this--especially when they trusted a hotel to keep their belongings safe. read more

I gave them a 3 star because of the staff, the hotel itself is more like a 2 star at best. Mayra, at the front desk, checked me in and she was delightful. She also helped me choose a good quiet room. And Pechait and Ali, the bell men are wonderful people. Both have worked at the hotel for like 25 years and could not be any more kind and helpful! Now onto the hotel. It's very outdated. The last time the carpets in the halls were changed out had to be atleast 10 years ago! I know this because we have stayed in the hotel for the last 25 years and I remember when they installed the carpet! The rooms were just a room with darkly painted walls. Showers were dirty, they removed ice machines from the floors, they no longer have a Hilton concierge room for Hilton members and the cost of parking is off the charts at $45 a night for self parking and $65 for the Priority parking aka Valet! Crazy! We stay here because I love the Japanese market across the street, it's close to the airport and shopping and they have an airport shuttle. They do have a bar, restaurant, gym, pool and convention centers so that's all good too. Just needs a really good DEEP clean and some updating for sure! read more

I didn't stay at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa, but I still ended up appreciating it more than I expected. I mainly used it for two things: the lobby bar and parking while flying out of SNA. For that purpose, it worked perfectly. Parking was easy and stress-free, which already put it ahead of most airport-related situations. Knowing my car was parked somewhere reliable took a lot of pressure off the trip. I stopped by the lobby bar before heading out, and it was exactly what I needed. Nothing flashy, but comfortable, relaxed, and efficient. It felt like a solid place to grab a drink, sit down, and reset before travel mode fully kicked in. Service was straightforward and quick, which is honestly ideal when you're watching the clock. The real highlight, though, was the shuttle. It ran every 30 minutes and was actually on time, which feels almost suspicious when it comes to airport shuttles. The ride to SNA was smooth, easy, and clearly well-coordinated. I never felt rushed or unsure about timing, and that alone made the experience worth it. Overall, even without staying overnight, the Hilton ended up being incredibly convenient. If you're flying out of John Wayne and want reliable parking, a dependable shuttle, and a calm place to grab a drink beforehand, this hotel does exactly what it's supposed to do. I became incredibly sick after attending an event at this hotel. The conference rooms are hot and humid with no windows and lacking good airflow which resulted in mold growing on several fabric surfaces in the time our group was there. As an asthma sufferer I had to cut my stay early and leave the event, rebook a flight, and today I'm seeking medical attention in my state. The rooms are aged with curling wallpaper, moldy green grout in the showers, stains on the sheets, hairs in the sink and tub. The whole stay was disgusting. I mostly give positive reviews on Yelp but this impacted my health significantly and I don't want anyone else to be impacted. read more

My little three years old daughter got hurt by walking along the Beds( the bedframe), this hotel use, the mattress is much smaller than the bedframe that has two clipside sticking out and very sharp. My little daughter got scratched so bad to her whole back and very deep scar and was bleeding. The worst thing is not just the incident. Is the way they treated this! when I called this hotel front desk and services, they said do you need call the ambulance or go to hospital and if not then just "A Good Night". This hotel and staff and/or manager don't even step in and trying to solve and talk about and care bout the experience and how this baby girl doing. I give Victorias service a 1 star (and below). Today is the second official written complaint to management I had to give and the result from her was retaliation, worse service, lying, and refusing to get the manager stating she's the manager so I'm documenting it this time so that internal and external can see. I urge them to review the audio and video from both occurances. I am a Hilton Diamond Member and have stayed at this property multiple times. I had yet another very concerning experience with Victoria at check-in today. This is the second time I have encountered significant customer service issues with Victoria. During check-in, I was attempting to access a billed-to-company reservation through Conferma. Rather than assisting in locating the authorization, Victoria repeatedly told me to determine where the authorization had been sent. That's not my job but I explained that my travel company indicated it had been sent to either the General Manager and/or Director of Sales email address. Instead of helping resolve the issue, I was instructed to pay the full room, tax, plus $75 incidentals or contact my corporate office, corporate travel department, and the travel management company while waiting in the lobby. When I asked for her name, she stated that her name was Victoria but advised that anyone following up should speak with Jacob because she was leaving for the day. While I was contacting my company and travel agency, Victoria called my name. I asked whether the authorization email had just arrived because the timing seemed unusually fast. She declined to answer my question and would not acknowledge me until I approached the desk again later. At that point, she advised that the authorization had actually been received the entire time and was sitting in the Front Office email inbox. When I expressed frustration that I had been sent on a lengthy process despite the authorization already being available, I felt that my concerns were dismissed rather than addressed. I also advised her that ignoring a guest's questions and refusing to communicate is not appropriate customer service. She responded that she was not obligated to have a conversation with me from a distance. I further explained that I have experienced similar difficulties with her during a prior stay. She stated that she had only been at the property for two weeks and dismissed me again. I didn't ask her tenure. I'm telling her I already had a problem with her. Period. (And that was another lie from Victoria because my 1st written complaint about her was over two weeks ago). Regardless of her tenure, this is the second interaction I have had with her that I found unnecessarily difficult, dismissive, and unprofessional. I respectfully request that management review the audio and video from the front desk during my check-in today, as I believe it will accurately reflect the interaction and my concerns about Victoria AGAIN. read more

I had my hopes up. The pictures looked nice but the room was very average, the parking garage a disaster and the AC did not work. They do not have 24 hour maintenance so we had to live with no AC. It's summer but thankful it wasn't too hot. But, with no circulation it was very stuffy. The room was not well lit as it was a second floor room looking into the atrium and so no natural sunlight. Some of the walls were painted a mud brown which made it seem even more dreary. The parking garage was huge and full and I had to park in what seemed like an abyss, bottom basement level with a long walk to the lobby and at $45 dollars a night, it was an insult to injury.. On a good note the public areas were nice, the bed comfortable and the waitress at the restaurant was friendly. That said, I would not stay here again if it were half the price I paid. read more

TLDR: Clean pet-friendly Hotel. Cons: Limited Overnight parking I really like this hotel! I haven't been to a Hilton in a LONG time. I'm impressed by the digital key! I wasn't able to digital-check-in... probably because I had brought a cat with me. So after checking in, and paying the $50 pet fee, i was able to download the digital key. Worked PERFECTLY! Because we didn't check-in until 11pm, I decided to pay the $45 for overnight parking. I think it's a mistake. The lot was ALWAYS full the entire weekend we stayed there (granted it was a long weekend). I think you can be adventurous and look for nearby free parking (hint hint). The neighborhood is pretty nice, not sketchy. The room was clean, we REALLY liked the bed. My wife liked the pillows, but I thought they were too soft. if you prefer a bit more rigidity, you will probably need 2 or 3 pillows to satisfy. We didn't get maid service the entire time (again, because of our cat), but the times I met the maids outside, they were super friendly, giving me toilet paper with a smile. There's a bit of security in the elevator, where your card (or digital key) gives you access to only your floor and below. Checkout was just as simple. Leave the keys in the room and go! They have Pure Life water bottles in their rooms, first for $1.50 and second for $2.50. read more

I work mostly in downtown Los Angeles area and never knew this Hilton even existed. I brought a group of affluent Japanese real estate executives for a week stay. They enjoyed their time and expressed gratitude about the services they had experienced at this hotel. Conveniently located off the 405 South exit at Bristol Avenue by going right and you'll see the hotel on your left. There's even an area for a 56 seater bus to park on the side of the building. I stayed here for my birthday weekend and was really looking forward to it. The first night started off great--comfortable bed and delicious short ribs with mashed potatoes and chocolate mousse. But shortly after dinner, I got extremely sick with what seemed like food poisoning and was bedridden for two days. I let the staff know I was ill and couldn't eat the breakfast I ordered. I was told a manager would follow up, but no one ever did. I'm now on my last night, still in pain, and I'm extremely upset and disappointed. Attended a CTA training here this weekend and we stayed here. The hotel is very beautiful on the inside. Our room was nice the bed was comfortable and the pillows were gel memory material which was nice. They use Crabtree shower products which was a nice touch it smelled so good. The ONLY downsides were that upon arrival we couldn't find a bell service person to help us, they did not offer free handicap valet like other hotels AND... one of our lamps did not work. I booked this hotel three days in advance, so there is no excuse for not having my reserved room available. Stayed here for a Business trip for a couple nights. The hotel in an older hotel, but they have kept it up well. The lobby is grand and has beautiful glass elevators that overlook the restaurant, bar, lobby and Star Bucks. The rooms are clean and roomy, nice big table for working and chair for lounging. Beds were comfortable, pillows as well. The bathrooms seem to have been partially updated, but still have older tile in the shower area, but nice overall. The gym fell short a bit for me, it is fairly small and limited equipment, but does the job. I am spoiled I guess with some of the other gyms at hotels I have stayed out. But glad they had facilities to use and work out in. The also have a o pool that looked nice, but I did not swim. We had drinks in the bar and the bartenders were great. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and I was really happy with the New York strip, a nice cut of meat, cut medium rare with excellent flavor and the tenderness of the steak was impressive. I like it very much. My stay overall was very nice, enjoyed the hotel, it was comfortable and nice with plenty of amenities. Check them out. Enjoy! read more

March 2026- My husband and I had no hot water from Sunday 3/15 to Wednesday mid day 3/18. We addressed this with management each day and they were aware of a water heater repair earlier that day that affected the building. Later our room still had no hot water so they sent 2 repair men up to our room at 11pm to fix this lack of hot issue. We were told that it's a stem issue and needs replacement. We then proceed to ask for another room. We received a room on the same floor still no hot water, returned to desk got a key for the 6th floor still not hot water, got another key for the 2nd floor no hot water. Informed manager this is a building issue not our single room. We ended up in our original room with cold water. I stayed at this hotel Sunday through Thursday and only Wednesday night did I have hot water. We had our parking fees of 45.00 per night waived and 10000 Hilton Honor points as a courtesy. The reason I wrote this review is to train management to be honest just tell the truth and save customers the time from bouncing room to room. Rather we are having a building wide issue and we won't have hot water until it resolves which in this case was days!!! Wow I got completely fooled by the photos. I don't know where to start as I am currently still staying here. There was no valet attendant and they are charging $45 to self park and $60 to valet overnight. The lobby is so dark you can barely see. They had one person working the front desk so the line was long and slow. Once I got in the room I was greeted to hair all over the shower curtain, a light that turns itself on and off, and incredibly thin sheets. I decided to check out the jacuzzi on floor two which is actually freezing. I learned the hard way. There are no towels near the jacuzzi, you have to go to the pool to grab them. Lastly I came to the bar for a bite and a beer and to do some work. The bartender has no personality, forgot my salad, brought the wrong dressing, forgot to give me silverware. Once the pizza came it has old chewy overcooked mushrooms basically inedible. The hotel is incredibly outdated and empty as can be. Such a waste of money super disappointed I will say the bartender/server was kind just poorly trained. There is no sense of passion it's lifeless here read more

If you're a guest & already paying fir a room & spending money at the restaurants, why are we penalized for driving a car that we used to get there, and needs a place to be ? The toast was burned too much and the meat was tough. I ordered a fountain diet Coke and never got asked if I'd like a refill. Front desk customer service needs improvement. My husband booked two rooms for me and friends to attend a ladies retreat at this hotel. I needed to change the name on one room, but the gal at the front desk wouldn't let me because my husband wasn't present. Totally understandable. But when I finally got my husband on the phone, I got back in line and the gentlemen that helped me said he didn't need to speak to my husband and made the change for me. Additionally, upon check out, the front desk wouldn't give me a receipt for the rooms because my husband wasn't present. She said he wouldn't receive it via email, but he only received one of them. He called the hotel for the second receipt, and to this day, three weeks later, we still don't have a receipt for the second room. For whatever reason, they wouldn't give it to him. Other than our customer service experience with the front desk and over the phone, the rooms were super spacious and clean. We paid a little more than our normal budget for hotel, but the price is to be expected because of the location and our rate came with a breakfast buffet. Our experience at breakfast was good, service was also good. Food was good, although I wouldn't pay the normal price if it didn't come with the room. I loved the bagel bar with the cream cheese, lox, and capers, as well as the variety of fruit. We also had a catered dinner at the hotel. That was good too! Food was excellent. Overall, this review would have been five stars had it not been for our experience at the front desk and over the phone... and the fact that we still don't have a receipt for the second room. We had two adjoining rooms and they had a Starbucks, a store, a restaurant and south coast plaza nearby. pretty much all you needed was available or close by. Pretty much needs a major overhaul!! I don't think this property has had a renovation in at least 20 years. Let's start with the fact that I arrived at 1:20 AM and the older gentleman who was working behind the counter was checking someone in and having a full on conversation about being from South Africa as I was ready to pass out from exhaustion from having flown all day. One would think... At that hour if you're working behind the desk and someone is waiting, you might be a bit more considerate, but instead, when it was my turn, he was pretty short and Kurt with me because he could see that I was frustrated from waiting so long for him to finish his conversation that had nothing to do with checking the gentleman in front of me in. OK, the room was clean and the bed was good. I think that's pretty much where the good stuff stops. This morning I tried to order room service at 6:30 AM. By the way it opens at 6 AM. Nobody answered and it asked me to leave my name and room number and I would get a call back . It is now almost 8 AM and I have yet to hear from anyone.. i've called back several times to no avail. I have now decided to just put on my clothes and go downstairs. There's definitely a reason why I prefer to pay more and stay in a hotel such as the Four Seasons or the Ritz Carlton, where service is everything.. shape up Hilton. read more

My GF got to the hotel and they refused to let her into the room because i wasn't there. I called and asked them to just let her in and they said it's policies so they wouldn't let her in without me even though i had already checked in online. Staying here was an earthly experience of walking through the valley of the shadow of death while overcoming one ineffectiveness after another, and the thing is ... collectively ... the employees don't care. Or, the employees are resigned to working in an environment where the management does not care. This was my first experience with a Hilton hotel and I was staying there for medical purposes. I requested to have a quiet room away from the elevators, a room in which I could safely sleep at night with the sliding glass door open at night and a room with a bath tub. I called on the morning of the arrival day to confirm the reservation and ask if I could possibly check in 2 hours early, which was approved. Everything I had requested was NOT in the reservation notes on site, although the person helped with handling all of that. So, I arrive exhausted. The room I am given is the farthest away from the elevators one could get. I walk into the room, open the sliding glass door to the sound of traffic on one of the busiest streets and the 405; it was as if the cars were literally in the room. Okay, think about it ... if you are taking a reservation and the person requests a quiet room away from the elevators ... isn't it just a no brainer to take into consideration the street noise reaching into a room on the 4th floor?!? There is no way the person helping me was connecting the dots ... and they were right on site ... the noisy street was right in front of them. So, two hours of back and forth walking and conversations with the hotel staff about a "quiet" room. Which, after it was all said and done, existed on the 4th floor over the parking lot, which was perfect. I lost count of the number of times I said, "I do not care about the view, what I want is a quiet room." I was exhausted and requested to move the next day and we basically had to start over because they rented the room they were going to give me the night before. It only gets worse!!! I'm in the new room overlooking the parking lot. It's quiet, sliding glass door open, I'm so happy. About 2:00 AM a car alarm goes off. Ten minutes later ... still going. I pushed EVERY button dial for the hotel that was on the telephone ... literally ... not one line answered, even the front desk. Crickets. I called the Hilton from my cell phone, someone answered and said they couldn't hear the alarm ... what? like you think I'm lying/kidding? ... REALLY?!? Can you please just handle the car alarm?? Please! It went on like this every single day I stayed there was some kind of drama from a staff person and/or mistakes that were nobody's fault, they just fell out of the sky. With all due respect, in my early 20's I was a maid who became the Housekeeper of an International Ski Resort. It really is simple to serve a guest when one listens, hears and delivers what is being requested in a loving tone of voice. The end. Really. It's that simple. Run down hotel. Smells. Rude staff. Ridiculous parking. Miserable experience. Never again.
