I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Orange Grove Inn. I booked my reservation approximately one month in advance for June 18-24 and received a confirmation email showing those exact dates. As I was traveling internationally from Canada, these dates were planned well in advance and were not flexible. Before traveling, I double-checked my reservation details to ensure everything was correct. When I arrived at the hotel on the evening of June 18, the front desk agent informed me that he could not locate my reservation. After I provided my confirmation email, he searched further and stated that the reservation in their system showed dates of June 17-23 and had been marked as a "no-show" because I did not arrive on June 17. The front desk agent contacted a colleague, who reportedly advised that someone had called the hotel on June 9 claiming to be me and requested that the reservation dates be changed. I never called the hotel to modify my reservation, nor did I authorize anyone else to do so. This raises serious concerns about the hotel's reservation verification procedures. If reservation changes can be made over the phone, there should be sufficient verification measures in place to confirm the identity of the caller before altering a guest's booking, such as asking for the phone number or email on file. To make matters worse, I was charged approximately $160 CAD as a no-show fee due to a situation that was entirely outside of my control. I was informed that the charge was non-refundable. While I understand and respect no-show and cancellation policies-I work in the hair salon industry that also enforces such policies-I do not believe it is reasonable to charge a customer when the issue appears to have resulted from an error in the reservation process and the hotel business rather than any action on the guest's part. The most frustrating aspect of this experience was arriving after an international flight only to discover that I effectively had no accommodation and was left scrambling to find somewhere else to stay. What should have been the start of a relaxing vacation became an extremely stressful and costly situation. I hope management reviews this incident carefully, investigates how my reservation was altered without my authorization, and reconsiders the no-show charge. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel. UPDATE: the hotel called me and told me that they have issued the full refund which is great, but I hope they learned their lesson to be more diligent in terms of modifying/cancelling reservations and verification measures, because being stranded in a different country is not OK and it was a stupid mistake on their end that could've been easily avoided. read more

The Orange Grove Inn -- a title that conjures visions of pastoral citrus groves and sun-dappled repose, yet delivers instead a symposium of indignities. Sedated by its lofty Yelp ratings, I arrived with optimism bordering on naïveté. Mere hours before check-in, however, I received a portentous call: the establishment had indulged in the ancient art of overbooking and inquired whether I might exile myself to a different hotel -- this was notably unaccompanied by compensation, contrition, or even a perfunctory coupon. I declined. The inn itself reclines beside the freeway in what might generously be described as an auditory amphitheater. My room, strategically stationed beside the parking lot, afforded me immersive access to the oratory stylings of late-night congregants and the dulcet hum of interstate transportation. Soundproofing was aspirational. I may as well have resided in a cardboard box on Skid Row. The bedding was laughably minimal: a sheet of ecclesiastical thinness and pillows with the structural integrity of neglected paperbacks. The bathroom featured a lone hair in the sink -- perhaps a memento from a prior pilgrim -- and black grime curating the corners. As I washed my hands, I was visited by a surprise guest: a cockroach scuttling across sink. The following morning, I discovered a foreign toenail clipping nestled in my bed, as though the housekeeping staff had wished to leave me a keepsake. Not to be outdone, some nocturnal arthropod elected to feast upon me in three distinct locales, each bite swelling with concerning severity. Upon checkout, I was informed -- with bureaucratic serenity -- that my failure to summon staff at midnight rendered all grievances retroactively inadmissible. Having merely desired a safe and hygienic sanctuary in which to repose after evenings with friends, I was instead treated to a masterclass in institutional indifference. Compensation remained as mythical as the orange grove itself. In sum: a stay so memorably abysmal it borders on performance art. WOW! I'll assume this budget priced motel has recently undergone a MAJOR refurbishment, because this was a FIND! We needed a central location for an OC adventure weekend. After graciously being allowed to check in early on a Friday afternoon, we barely had time to throw our suitcases in the room, and snacks in the mini fridge before we were off to The California Angeles of Los Angeles in Anaheim Baseball Stadium (or whatever it's called these days), a quick 10 minute drive away. Getting back to this haven was wonderful, easy and convenient. And our after game sandwiches were perfectly fresh from the aforementioned mini fridge. The next day we took a bit longer to look around this property. We noticed the night before, when we got in around 10pm, that there was a very well lit parking lot and plenty of parking spaces. We admired all the thoughtful landscape details of the new plantings. The pool area was being enjoyed by one family, but it was also quite lovely and newly refurbished, including a shady gazebo! The most surprising feature to me was the on-site laundry room. We stumbled upon it while looking for the ice machine. Using our room key to enter, we saw a small area furnished nicely with 2 NEW coin op washer and dryers. (Sorry, I forgot to look at the per load fee for each. The room itself was stuffy and warm, but there's a wall A/C unit to turn on and a desk and chair, should you chose to wait there for your laundry. Very thoughtful additions! The Queen room we booked for 2 nights was EXACTLY as it was shown on the Hotels.com website! Very clean and comfortable. Headboard had attached reading lights above and side tables with shelf, which I appreciate. The shower had full size bottles of Paya Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash, which Hubs enjoyed, and the shower itself was large, good pressure, HOT water and low profile, easy to get in/out of. Towels were full size - not bath sheet, exactly, but large, clean and soft. They also offered a single brew coffee in the room and, if I'm not mistaken, AM coffee in the lobby. Not a coffee drinker, so I forget. Rooms also have a microwave, ironing board, hairdryer, wi-fi, large flat screen TV, and loads of places to plug in, USB and standard US 120-V outlets. You may notice this hotel is one parallel road(El Camino Real) away from I-5, but we never noticed it. Yes, we were located on the 2nd floor of the interior of the Orange Grove Inn and had the A/C running all night, but there's also a new VERY LARGE sound wall blocking the freeway noise. Disneyland is a 15 minute, easy on/easy off, drive up I-5 from Orange Grove Inn, so I would recommend it for budget accommodations if that attraction is on your itinerary. SHOOT! You could even Uber/Lyft to the park and spend less time dealing with Disneyland parking lots, if you wanted. We found it an easy drive from this motel to the foothills and canyons of Irvine, when we went exploring out to the Silverado Cafe and Arden:Helena Modjeska House. Next time were venturing around OC and need a welcoming, comfortable, VERY CLEAN, friendly, attentive staff kinda place to stay, we'll be at the Orange Grove Inn. Cheers! "CC" read more

So hear me out: If you're for the Ritz then go look at the Ritz, but also, be ready to pay the price. If you're looking tor a more cost-effective stay, and in the city of Tustin, this is your place. Some history first: this place used to be known as some other hotel, which didn't have a very good reputation; however, since a new company bought it remodeled it and opened under a new name and new company, this place is delightful-- especially for the price. What's here that is useful? Laundry first (yep I'll a mom), a cute pool with plenty of seating, a closer knit feel (which makes it easier for security to look after everyone), and a kind staff (especially the cleaning crew). There's also a small gym if you're into working out. Next door is a Denny's which is convenient given that they are a 24/7 diner. As for extra bonus points: The shower. Whatever they are doing with their shower pressure, I want one. Drawbacks: I wish the room stayed more cool. Same for the mini fridge. In the end, in the city of Tustin, you have like four choices when it comes to hotels, so pick this one, especially if you're into a good price for a good stay. read more

The hotel staff was very kind and welcoming, and they clearly explained both the room location and parking situation. My room was clean, tidy, and had everything I needed for my one-night stay: a desk with chair, TV, A/C, extra seating, and a private bathroom with shower. The only downside was that the walls are quite thin and the door doesn't seal well, so noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway travels easily. I was in room 230, and I could even feel vibrations when people walked by. Being near the freeway wasn't an issue for me, but loud or inconsiderate guests were noticeable. The price and location were ideal. I also appreciated the 20% off coupon for Denny's just a few minutes away. Overall, I would recommend staying here--just be aware that sound carries easily and room shakes some. read more

I have no clue as to why any person who actually stayed here could give t more than one star. And that's because there's no zero star rating available. 1. Ever been to prison? Now you can! And with the same amenities! Hope you're not claustrophobic :) 2. Do they actually make walls out of paper? Is that cheaper? My neighbors decided to play rugby day and night, and I caught every detail! I think that officially makes me a refereee. 3. I guess it's illegal to build a hotel on an interstate freeway, but not 50 feet away, thankfully! Very convenient if you're deaf, and if you're not, you will be soon enough! 4. Se habla espanol? Stayed here for 2 nights for a Disneyland trip which was about a 10-12 min drive from the parks. Overall, our stay was great experience! Upon check in, the front desk guy was very nice and professional. Our room was clean. No black/dirty feet! To our surprise, they even have daily housekeeping which at most places you have to request it. Also, Denny's was literally a building away so convenient if you want to grab breakfast. They also offer 20% off at Dennys for staying at the hotel! Some minor downsides was no elevator that I saw, the motel/property itself looked alot smaller than the pictures, small parking lot and the showers were a little cramped. Also, pillows were kind of flat but I'm sure if you ask for more, they would be more than happy to provide extra. Booked through Expedia and check in was a breeze. Our room was super clean and in pristine condition. I was so impressed by how well this Inn was renovated.. every last detail was impeccable. The shower doors alone were impressive. We were facing the pool, so the freeway noise was very minimal. We did get a chance to enjoy the pool and the water was clean, the outdoor furniture was clean and the property overall was spotless. We were there for 4th of July and were able to watch the Tustin High School fireworks show right from the balcony. We stay at hotels/motels often and most of them have a 3 night policy before servicing your room. I didnt even think about putting the "resting peacefully" sign on our door when we left for the day and when we got back later that night, or room had been serviced. Fresh towels, bed made. I felt guilty for the service only after 1 night, but it was nice to come back to a freshened up room. I had an envelope with $1000 cash on my nightstand (like i said i didnt expect the room to be serviced) and all my cash was still there. Not that I would assume it to be stolen, but you always hear stories and warnings about leaving valuables in your room. Trustworthy staff speaks volumes. Anyway, 10/10 would recommend and we'll stay here again next time we're in Orange County. read more

TLDR: Don't stay at this property. It's very loud from the freeway, remote didn't work properly and the parking lot felt unsafe. When we went to check in, there was an employee at the desk who didn't speak English and who insinuated to us that the main worker was in the bathroom. He awkwardly waited outside of the bathroom for no less than 10 minutes. When the employee exited the bathroom, she didn't apologize or acknowledge our wait in any way. When we brought our concern to her attention, she gave a very snooty look and acted as if we were being unreasonable. This was not in the least bit welcoming. Other than that, the room was very loud since the property is practically on the freeway, the remote didn't work properly, and the parking lot felt sketchy. I usually stay at their sister hotel Lemon Heights Inn & I loved it there. So I decided to book here because it was $20 cheaper. But I made the mistake and booked a room with no fridge or microwave. The owner & Alondra switched rooms for me at no extra charge for one that had both. They were so accommodating to me, even though it was my mistake. I recognized Alondra from the other hotel & she is always nice & accommodating. These rooms are clean & the beds are so comfy. I would recommend Lemon Heights inn or Orange Grove Inn to anyone who is looking to get away for a night or mini vacation. read more

Facilities were clean, ample parking. My issue was I had to file a dispute with my credit card provider to get my deposit back.

Rooms are great prices are great but leaving a 1 star review for them pretty much stealing the 50 dollar deposit fee. After a week of not getting the refund back I called them and they said the reason was someone had smoked in the room. Me and my fiancé who stayed there do not smoke at all. We checked in at 2 pm left to Disney for the whole day got back at 1 am and left the hotel at 8 am the next morning. Room smelled clean when we got there and when we left. Turns out housekeeping said the room was smoked in. Pretty crazy if you ask me. I will be disputing the charge with my credit card company. Booked this hotel thru Expedia, check in was great we did check in around 1am and we had no issues checking in very late customer service was great, security was walking around the hotel making sure everything was good which was great we felt secured. Regarding the room we did book a queen bed but we got a full bed. I would say double check on that if booking here. Overall the hotel was clean outside area as well. We requested for the room to be clean while we were running errands we also requested extra towels and they provided excellent service. I would say this has to be the best most affordable hotel. Stayed here for a few days because we were in town to visit Disneyland. The room is pretty clean and the AC works well which was imperative in the blazing heat. Although, the water pressure from the shower could have been a lot better. We also parked my car here and had no issues with any break-ins which is always a concern parking overnight in a hotel lot. For the most part, it was okay. My only real complaint is that bed sucks. We booked for a deluxe queen bed and we got a full. I thought I'd suck it up because it was only a few days. They also do not give you a proper comforter, only a couple of bedsheet thin blankets to put on top of you. I will say though, it is on me for not speaking up about the bed size as that can be easily fixed and they could have probably just put us in a different room, thus why they are still getting 3 stars. But, the bed was very uncomfortable, regardless. :( read more

Was looking for a little spot to some adult thangs lol and found this place. Looked nice but couldn't find any rooms online. I drove there and there were hardly any cars so of course when I walked in they had rooms for a Tuesday night for $107. That's cheap but still I guess pricey for a weekday. What do I know anyway there was a sign for a $50 deposit along with a $125 if you smoke in the room. That's all great but tell me why they have no signs on the site or on the front counter that there's an additional $25 fee if there is a 2nd car/person checking in..I'll find out if that's refunded. ‍ I mean overall it's decent but come on. Not all people are shady and need to be charged for this or that..UPDATE..that $25 "extra car fee" was not refunded..which in my own opinion should be. read more

Brand new! This inn is terrific value and super centrally located. I put my family up here while they were visiting and they loved it.

The only one nice thing I can say is the shower is really nice along with the shampoo etc. But the rooms are tiny (I stayed in two separate rooms while staying since the 1st one was RIGHT NEXT to the office like they were spying on me), there is a pool with zero jacuzzi! and the absolute worst pary, the staff....half of them are teenage incompetents and the other half ade SO RUDE and barely speak English!!
