Want to get some rest? Relaxation? Don't stay at this Motel 6 location. It is in one of the worst locations, and the front desk employees warn guests of the sketchiness of the area. That - confirms it! But, I was gifted a few nights stay since I didn't have anywhere else to stay, but my car, which was fine with me. The only thing that was really needed was the shower. It's not Hyatt, Hilton or the Westin. It's Motel 6. The Motel has security, just one person. personally, if the property location is in a sketchy location there should be two security persons. One for the front & One for the back. During my stay, even though there was security, I still felt like my car was unsafe. There's a metal gate that surrounds the property, but it's not high enough where random passersby can't still climb over and cause damage to guests property, or even casually walk onto the property. It's extremely noisy and located on a main street just off the 5 north fwy ramp. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, race, honk, roar, rev up and down the street all night/day long, don't plan on getting much sleep unless ear plugs ~ maybe a couple are lodged in your ears. The room I stayed in was bare bones. TBH I didn't even sleep in the bed, just on top with my own blankets, it was just unnerving, I didn't feel safe at all. The other guests of the motel, were extremely noisy and rude. The one on the other side of my bathroom wall sounded like they were 1. Up All Night Long ~ which kind of stole my sleep away from me 2. Kept sounding like they were falling off ladders, stools, or some other piece of furniture and the furniture was falling on the hardwood floors as well, all night long and someone kept banging on or against the wall The neighbor on the other side of my bed wall, chose for some reason to push their table against the wall, which ended up making a huge bang, like they were angry, that action, shook the wall and was annoying. So again not much sleep that night either. The courteousness of the staff is hit or miss. The guy who checked me in was nice, friendly and helpful. He was the one who seemed to know the property the best & who forewarned me of it's lack of safety. The two women I interacted with directly, were not so nice or friendly, it seemed like I was bothering them every time, my key failed to work, which was every day. There is something seriously wrong when a guest leaves their room and can't re-enter it w/o a trip to the front desk b/c their room key doesn't work. It's disruptive and then to have to interact with rude staff who make guests feel like its a disservice to them, to provide service ~ aka do their job. Go Figure. My key was never de-magnetized, never placed in my wallet, near any credit cards, etc. But yet, I could never get back into my room. One good thing to know, is that the belongings / personal items brought into your room are safe (for the most part). Since cleaning only happens when a guest leaves, due to COVID no one is allowed to enter a guests room till the guest checks out. If clean towels or bedding is needed or wanted then the front office asks to be notified, just more extra steps b/c of COVID. Overall, it's not a place I'd stay with the intent of getting some rest, unless I absolutely had to. It just didn't feel safe and it was noisier than sleeping in my car ~ which I actually felt safer in. Weird. read more

This is in the "hotel strip" of Santa Ana where there are a lot of prostitutes and drug dealers and there is always a fight in the parking lot every night. Also the hotel strip has a lot of traffic and the traffic noise will wake you up at night. I know the motel can't control that: what it can control is the laziness of the employees. They refused to housekeep my room because of "coronavirus" and the pool has been closed for several months because of "coronavirus" , which is just an excuse for the employees to do less work. Yes, it is a cheap motel and you should not expect much, BUT, I have stayed at Motel 6 at other locations and no issues. But this one.... Check in, went to room. room smells nice and clean, turned on air and then went to unpack. Hhhhmmm air is not working. Call front desk and the reply is, "It should be working, just press the buttons". Well, thanks, I would have NEVER thought to do that! I asked if they could send maintenance. Nope! No maintenance there. She offered to switch rooms. Ok - ssssoooo, I pack up all my stuff and walk all the way downstairs to the front of the motel, in the rain, get a new key for a new room. Which, by the way was right next door to that room! Walk all the way back and upstairs, entered room and it SMELLED and not good!! Decided I would try the air before I unpacked this time. NOPE, not working! Grabbed my stuff and did the long walk again. Got yet another room. It smelled clean and wait for it.... The air worked!! But the ceiling in the shower was moldy and had a large mildew stain and the vent in there was half off! Beds suck! Expedia asked me for a survey and suggested a full refund to me, doubt I will get it. Like I said, other Motel 6 locations are really nice and clean - this one, not so much! This motel deserves less than a 0 star, mainly because of the manager!! When we arrived, the door of our room was wide open and all the lights on - and this at 2AM! So the door had been open for more than 6 hours. The day after, when coming back to our room, they had taken all our belongings out, without even informing us about the problem. It finally came out that there wasn't enough credit on the Visa, so we only paid for 1 night instead of 2 - but we had plenty of cash with us so we could have paid easily if they would have informed us. The manager came and asked us to leave, without even letting us look for another hotel. He was totally disrespectful and rude and didn't even dare to have a discussion with us. Oh mylanta! Been here for almost a week now...its been, uhmmm...eventful. Had a termite infestation in my room today which was totally gross. Well that led to an interaction with the general manager. Holy crap. He came at me SO twisted and flat out rude. He said "in 25 years of hotel management. I've NEVER seen a termite in a room!" I let him in my room and he saw them. He actually picked up the termite (Eww) and gave me this psychotic stink eye glare which was really eerie so I said "yep...termites...in the room..." (Nervous laughter) and he replies "how do you know? Have you ever worked with termites??" Weird. Then he did this visual inspection of the room like he was gonna come up on a meth lab. Sorry dude, I'm not gonna be your new connect. Anyway so I moved to a new room in the 102 degree heat alone. The AC didn't work in that room so moved again...fml. Currently in the new bug free room. Complete with AC. Phew. October 22 follow up: for some bizarre reason (I have nooooo idea why...HA) I'm now forever BANNED from this termite...err motel 6. We had another friend hang out with the possibility of staying over because she was not sober enough to drive home. The security guard consistently threatened us saying he would call the cops if she had not registered her name. SHES DRUNK...not sober...about to pass out!! These people threatened me with calling the police. All because I asked his name and wanted corporate office number to make a formal complaint. He refused to give me his name and only wanted to give me their website. I waited for the police nobody came. I was on the phone with Corporate the whole time and filed a formal report. The reason was, I was unable to sleep due to the air conditioning making noise like a helicopter was taking off all night long. I called the front office to complain and they told me I need to make a formal complaint with the handyman. (WoW) so then when I was leaving I saw a person (Lee) who said he was one of the managers. I told him about the air conditioning and he said he would check it and meet me at the office, once there he agreed the air conditioner was not working properly and he could not even turn it off. At this point he would do nothing for me i then asked for the number to corporate office and he refused and would only give me web site address when I asked for his name he hesitated and gave only Lee and I was so shocked that he could even be a manager. Stink like peepee!!!! My first experience here was outrageous that's why i come back to this place again. However, it disappoints me. Reserved for a first floor room since we need to move some gears to the room but they reserved us a second floor room without letting us know neither by mail or phone. Also reserved for a non-smoking room but the room smell like burning cigarette and inside the restroom i can smell the weed. There is also a cigarette burnt on the bed which implies someone smoked before. The worst thing is the smell from the AC. I bet they haven changed the air filter for like a decade or so. It smells like some kids used to pooped and peed in the room and inside the AC ... Lol!?!?!? Parking is also terrible, need to go the the other side of the building to park. I talked with the staff about the smell and everything. He gave me a spray but that couldn't help and there is no room available to change. I explained the situation with him and he said i may have a room available tomorrow to switch to but have to wait until 10am. Its now 3AM at the morning and we still cant sleep because of the unpleasant smell. read more

I made a reservation for two rooms. I received my email confirmation for two rooms. When I arrived, the check in clerk said the system showed a reservation for one room. I showed him the email, from motel6, and he said there was nothing he could do. He was unable to simply add a second room for my current reservation. He was unable to even honor the rate my original reservation originally had. I made reservations at a $108/night and he charged me one room at $113 and the other at $133. Our stay was September 16 to the 18th 2019. This was such a pleasant surprise. Did not expect much from price and outside appearance but, they were great. We had just stayed at another local motel and it was a nightmare. We arrived and were a little skeptical at first glance but, we walked into office and were greeted by a wonderful, professional desk person. She was so helpful, & welcoming. Made our check in a breeze. Then we entered our room and it was bright and clean. It was comfortable and had the amenities we needed. Nice motel. I was looking for a cheap place to stay, as I only needed it to sleep at night. At first I thought it would be terrible, but after thinking twice i decided to give it a shot. The front desk lady was very nice and very helpful. The room was very clean. There was a TV, towels, cups, everything except shampoo, but there was soap. The area was nice, I saw no homeless or dangerous people. There were many restaurants and stores across the street. I think if more people that stayed here wrote reviews the overall star rating would be higher. Nice motel, definitely give it a chance. read more

We stayed here 7/4/11 (4th of July) and to my surprise it was a really great stay, it looks like the area is not that great but besides hearing fireworks at night there was no other issues, the room was clean there was plenty parking, this motel 6 was great, we stayed here because we were going to different areas around the area, I recommend this hotel if you are going to just need a place to sleep, it's nothing super fancy, there was no bed bugs what we could see under the sheets. read more

The venue for the wedding changed so this was what we could find in such a short period of time. The hotel staff were awful. The rooms we reserved was dirty and smelled disgusting. We had to purchase air freshener to make the room smell presentable. One of the two rooms had bed bugs and cockroaches. They changed the room from the upper floor to the lower floor. However, there was no towels provided. We had brought our own toilet paper because they did not replenish it. When we asked to have them provide house keeping services to our room since we were going to be gone all day, they did not. They have the excuse that because of COVID19 they do not do that anymore. Which is against their policy because it clearly states, "housekeeping services can be provided upon request". We stayed a total of 3 nights and it was a waste of money. Please do not stay here. Their furnitures looks like something they had just picked up off of the streets. These are our hard earned money spent and they were more than happy to collect it but did not provide the services ... I will be filing a formal complaint with their corporate office. read more

Worst customer service I've ever seen in my whole life!!! A valve in the shower broke in our room. Water pouring out everywhere. We called the front desk but they didn't seem to care. We packed up our stuff and went to the front desk. I tried to relay the urgency of the situation to the girl at the front desk and she looked at me like she was bored out of her mind. Next thing I know some guy comes rushing in screaming and yelling. tells me I must new stupid, dont I know how to turn on a shower? Awesome accommodations for my fur baby and me. Arrived super late on my check in date but called ahead to ensure that someone would be there upon my arrival. Craig the manager had explained to me over the phone about their protocol and eased my worries. He was even there at night and greeted me as if to make sure that I arrived and had a smooth check in. Scary! I don't recommend this place. I see other comments here about the Manager of this hotel. He was the least of our worries and he was actually helpful. We checked in a half hour early and our room was ready. Our room was on the 1st floor by the pool. We were surprised at how small the pool was and that it appeared to be locked by a bike chain. The decor in the room was nonexistent and the color (orange) was awful. We were given one washcloth and two thin slivers of soap (no shampoo). About 1am and again at 8am we were woken up by what sounded like someone trying to push something heavy across the floor. There was no breakfast although upon checking out I did see two carafes of coffee in the lobby and there was a Mexican bakery across the street. One plus: the Santa Ana Zoo is within walking distance and it's a cute little zoo. Still, it's not worth it to stay here. If you do, don't say I didn't warn you and bring your own shampoo. read more
