Stayed here for a quick weekend trip and I have zero complaints! We checked in at about 3pm after a long drive thru LA traffic and it was super easy. We were on the 8th floor, with a "renovated" shower. (As per the guy who checked us in.) The room was nice and surprisingly their double beds felt spacious and VERY comfortable. (I don't think I even moved!) The shower was very spa-like with a rainfall like shower head and additional shower hand wand! I stayed in there as long as I could. I loved that there were no carpets in the room. There was a desk area and a small couch with foot stool that my daughter was able to transform into her own "bed" to sleep on. There was a coffee maker that we didn't use, along with safe but NO fridge. (There was a sign saying they would be coming soon) Overall, a great stay! read more

Had a good stay at the Irvine Marriott, the entire hotel is remodeled and new which is a bonus. The hotel is located within 4 minutes from John Wayne airport and the courtesy hotel shuttle is convenient. The gym is medium size and has new equipment with TRX as well. The M club is what made my experience special because it is one of the best Marriott lounges with a steamer, printer, and a great continental breakfast with a variety of fruit and blueberry pancakes. I was disappointed the lounge though because they did not have happy hour on Fridays and Saturdays but they still had snacks and beverages available in the lounge during the day. The bar within the hotel was also closed during the holiday during our stay. read more

I stayed here for Fourth of July weekend and was pleasantly surprised with our three night stay. The rooms are a bit small; however, they are updated and modern with hard wood floors. The bed was extremely comfortable, and honestly was probably the best part of the stay. My friend and I were able to fall asleep immediately and sleep throughout the night without tossing and turning every night. The room also had a 55+ inch flat screen tv, which is rare for many hotels I have previously stayed in. With that being said, the two complaints I did have were that the walls were very thin, so you are definitely taking a gamble with your stay here. Luckily, for us we only had loud neighbors one night, but with that being said I couldn't imagine having loud neighbors every night. In addition, the parking fee per night was very steep at $37/night for an area that is not extremely busy. However, we were able to find parking in the lot or the garage in the back every night without problems, even when coming back at midnight. The amenities are great here - they have a Starbucks in the lobby which was extremely convenient, a bar in the lobby, a gym, and a pool. Overall, my friend and I enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again to avoid the steep oceanfront prices in Orange County, while still being a short drive away from the beaches. read more

I stay at Marriott all over Ca and so I like to leave reviews for those that travel a bunch like me. First, checking in, no line for Elite members, the line was about 7 people when I walked in. About 10 min wait. The girl that checked me in, very nice, great customer service. The room is nice & clean. No complaints. After check in, headed to the gym. Pretty small for such a large hotel. Three elypticals, weight machines, I think 4-5 treadmills, peloton. Next, M-Club. I have to say this was the most disappointing part thus far. Very very minimal. Not much too choose from, I have definitely seen better, Woodland Hills, and San Francisco the best that I've visited. Dinner was strange, no condiments including hot sauces, salt & pepper no ginger or wasabi for the sushi. Dessert was two plates one about 10 brownies, and 10 pecan pie pieces. That was it. Went to room to tuck in and I realized I have no remote for the TV, I'm currently waiting for one to be brought up, lol. It's not a bad place but not my favorite. They have one of the best concierge lounges that I have experienced at a Marriott (would love it they would add breakfast potatoes to the morning menu). The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Nice place, for sure. But why the nickel and diming? (Make that Jacksoning and Franklining.) Just set a rate. $32 to park. $15 for wifi. $7 for a bottle of WTR. (It's more expensive because it's vowel-free.) I'm waiting for the towel use and pillow fees. If someone else had not booked me here I would surely be elsewhere. This is for expense account rewards program travelers working for corporations with with little regard for how to spend the shareholders' money and great regard for frivolous perks. And rewards programs funded by shareholders. I don't expect to see Warren Buffet at the bar downstairs. read more

This was my first stay at the Marriott in Irvine...and overall I was impressed. The hotel is still finishing a complete refurbishment, but progress to date is really solid. The hotel lobby is fresh and hip. The M Club Lounge (platinum and gold) members was extremely well furnished, with quiet, intimate spaces, comfortable sofas and an awesome coffee machine for espresso and cappuccino. The morning and evening meal services had a wide variety of options and service was friendly at all times. My hotel room was renovated and it was done with an eye toward convenience. There were plenty of outlets, well functioning desk space and a huge TV. The room itself was clean, bright and airy. The restaurant was good...Although I would have liked to see a slightly broader menu...Both for in person and in-room dining. Generally food quality was good. No real downsides to the hotel, although a daily parking fee of $23 is a bit on the high side. It really should be included in the room rate. When I'm next in Irvine though, I will be back to the Marriott! read more

I was scheduled to stay at this property in the penthouse suite from 8/5/2021 thru 8/11/2021 with my family for our first vacation since the COVID-19 pandemic started. I verified one week before that the reservation reflected correctly. 4 hours before heading to the airport I double-checked that the reservation was accurate and found that my stay had been changed to a one-night 8/10-8/11 change with no email notification of said change. I contacted Marriot via the number for the hotel (949) 553-0100) and spent over an hour talking between Marriot support and the hotel (as you cannot reach the hotel directly). The agent was very nice and helpful but the Hotel Manager categorized it as a "system issue" and refused to do anything about it stating he didn't have any rooms. It felt very much like my family had been purposely booted from the room for a higher level customer by management and they were hoping we would just arrive and they could push a lesser room on us. I ultimately cancelled the reservation for the one-night stay on 8/10-8/11 and booked with a Hilton property (which was around 1200 cheaper and quite nice for a family stay. Recommend the Homewood Suites by Hilton Irvine Spectrum Lake Forest). The fun continued when i checked my credit card today (8/13) and found a nice $500 charge from Marriot for a stay that I cancelled within the cancellation policy and did not actually stay in. Marriott's website confirms as much. I have disputed the charge with my bank, and will continue to press until my money is swiftly returned. I highly recommend that folks take a second and reconsider staying at this hotel as it is very clear that Marriot at the very least has a poor booking and billing system with multiple glitches and at worst has crony level employees who abuse the system to bilk customers. Customer service is not in this hotels nature. read more

The lobby of the hotel is light, bright, and open with lots of seating. It is very modern in a beachy way, which totally fits the OC vibe. I was in love with the shower in the room. There is a normal shower head and also a handheld one if needed. There is no tub, which is great because who sits in the tub in a hotel room? Gross. It's in a great location; close to the airport but also within easy walking distance of two large shopping/eating centers. I enjoyed the soft linens and the comfortable mattress in the room as well. The pool area that I could see from my window looked very inviting. It was surrounded by lounge chairs and I also saw a few firepits for cooler nights. read more

It's been about 2 years since I've stayed at the Irvine Marriott, typically I'm here for work and I was very surprised how nice it's become. I was dreading staying here, but after this most recent trip I can't wait to go back. Last time I was here the lobby was redone and it was very vintage-hipster chic and it's still like that now. Now, the rooms were redone and wow, it was surprisingly gorgeous. The rooms aren't huge but it's very modern and the decor is very high end. The bathrooms are nice as well. The sliding doors on the showers only work one way, like a dummy I didn't figure it out until 3 minutes into my shower. I was thinking why is there a stopper on one of the rails and it keeps the door open and water gets out. The M Lounge (concierge lounge) is super nice. It's one of the nicer lounges I've been to. There's drinks and a few snacks all the time so you can get your caffeine and munchies fix. The lounge is now on the first floor by the bar. I made numerous trips for chocolate covered pretzels, gummy bears, and countless cups of lattes and cappuccinos. There's lots of tvs and couches to hang out too. There's self and valet parking. Not sure what the prices were. The staff here are very hospitable as well, as I was making my way to my room after checking in, one of the team members introduced himself and said to ask for him if I needed anything. I didn't take him up on his offer, but it was very welcoming. Tip: They have slippers in the room in case you're worried about walking around the non carpeted floors. read more

This review is mostly for the staff.. The staff deserves 5 stars.. from the time I checked in to currently (still here for another night) has been nothing but the best. The front desk (midnight and mid day) are wonderful.. friendly smile and always ready to answer questions. The staff in the M lounge was also great! The issue we had was for the cleanliness of the first room we received. We checked in Pretty late and was too tired from our drive to even complain.. so we slept thru the dirty uncleaned room.. there was hair and food and dust from the previous person all over the floor. The glass cups and the coffee pot wasn't even where it was supposed to be.. bathroom had dirt all over the floor.. I lined it with towels to take a quick shower.. I messaged the front desk the next day and they were by far the best staff and well trained.. apologized and offered me a different room. Good job Marriott staff!! read more

Lousy Marriott compared to their Spectrum property or just about any good hotel; stuck here because flight to Denver was cancelled and have a morning flight instead. Bed is terribly soft and room is tiny and uncomfortable. Since we have no car, came to the restaurant for dinner; it's freezing and has a menu with a poor selection. Let's see how the food is; most likely not good in keeping with the theme of this poor property. Well, the bacon cheeseburger and fries were delicious; I was pleasantly surprised. I have been a Marriott member for over 10 years and this is the first time I've ever been dissatisfied after a stay. I had to cut my two night reservation short because there were so many dust bunnies underneath my bed in my hotel room that my allergies were out of control. There weren't any complimentary/for purchase waters in my room. No sanitizing wipes for my use, which is stated to be available in their promotion video playing on the tv in my room. An automatic light would come on every time I got up and woke my two youngest children in the evening several times. Lighting in general was also an issue, two lamps on either bedside without any extra lighting accept for the auto hallway light. Everything is paperless and I wasn't given a map of the hotel or anything when I checked in. I understand going eco friendly and paperless but I had to call the front desk several times to find where to go. I could keep adding to this list. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. read more

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT stay here! I reserved a room with a king size bed as my stay would include myself, my husband and our child. We were given a room with two double beds. That would have worked out well, if my huband wasn't over 6 feet tall. He barely fit in the bed. He had to sleep in the fetal position in order for his feet to not hang over the edge of the bed. To make matters worse, there is no free WiFi. The rooms have terrible reception and guests are almost forced into purchasing WiFi for $15! There also isn't free parking. It's $32 a night. I found that to be a little ridiculous. I definitely will not be staying at this hotel again in the future. read more

This review is for the shuttle. Flight arrived at 730, we were out by the hotel shuttle area by 7:35AM. The shuttle is supposed to come on the 45 and 15 of the hour - but when 7:45 rolled around the shuttle was nowhere. We waited until 8:15 after multiple calls to the hotel asking where it was, and they claimed the bus driver came and "didn't see anyone" even though we were literally right here the whole time. With the 40 MINUTE DELAY, I missed an important meeting that I had to reschedule last minute because I didn't know when it was coming. PLEASE IMPROVE THIS! IT IS MESSED UP! Please do NOT plan on this shuttle being on time as you will experience the same thing I did! Get ready for horrendous delays!!!! read more

TLDR: You will pay ridiculously for parking, don't waste your money on more expensive lounge access tier rooms. Clean, modern hotel. Horrendous customer service. Won't be coming back. First off, the hotel is beautiful, updated and very clean. Lobby is gorgeous, grounds are pretty. I have zero complaints with my room (except a weird slider door for the bathroom that would swing open unannounced and did not latch or lock). The bed was lovely. This is the only reason for 3 stars. However, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had to date. First, there are different tiers of rooms to purchase. My husband and I stayed here for my birthday and we purchased the room that was approximately $40-50 more to have access to the novel speakeasy lounge area. Upon arriving, the lounge guests we spoke to had a standard priced room and were admitted. I spoke to the receptionist and they told me that I was advised of this over the phone which was not true. What did I even pay extra for then? Next, my husband and I took separate cars to get here. They DO NOT validate parking and its $35 fee per night, per car. The attendant laughed when I asked to have it validated. That's more expensive than Disneyland. We were not advised of this prior to our stay and it was a terrible surprise. That's nearly half the cost of the room itself. We not only paid the $70 but had to park out in the very, very back of the poorly lit parking lot (not garage) with all of our luggage. Grand total of overspent, wasted money: over $130 not including taxes. If I had wanted to spend $400+ on a hotel, we could've had an ocean view elsewhere. Beautiful hotel! The lobby is pretty I think they just updated everything. My room was nice too and no carpet!!! (I hate carpet at hotel rooms) The bathroom looked updated as well I loved the mirror in my bathroom because of the ring lighting (perfect when applying makeup!) Their pool area is nice too they have seating and fire-pits. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Oh almost forgot they have a Starbucks in the lobby!!! Wish I could put 0 stars horrible service all around. I booked through a third party website that said parking and WiFi is included in with the room. When I came to check in there were 2 lines one for valet and another for self parking. I stopped at the self parking section and began to walk in. The valet guy ran up to me and told me to give me the keys. I asked told him I would not give my keys as I am in self parking section of the check in and need to check in. He would not let me enter the building and threatened me that he would have my car towed if I wouldn't give him my keys. I gave him my keys and told him to choke on them. I walked up to check in to find out that my room was upgraded to a deluxe king with a full balcony and bath. I was also informed that my parking was not free but extra 32$. Maddddd!!!!! I went and took my keys from valet guy and self parked. I walk into the room there is no bath tube, the room is so small and I walk out onto my full balcony that is 2x8 ft with no chairs or room to turn around. I then attempt to connect to Marriott free WiFi as they advertise to find it requires a fee of $15 to connect and $18 for advance internet. Like wtf how fucking cheap is Marriott that they are charging there customers for every condiment service that is supposed to be included with the room that is $136 a night. Marriott is so cheap and will scam every penny off you. Please do not stay at this hotel you can find way better deal at Hyatt!!! Never coming back to this dump!!!! read more

Stayed here for 2 nights in October. We actually stayed here because we were going to Disneyland and it was way overpriced in Anaheim this time of year. I booked through a third party website and had no issues. Room was small but it was nice and had two windows. I liked the fact that it had a fridge to use. No microwave though. I did read reviews that you can hear your neighbors and we did hear some noise from the room next to us but nothing that was unbearable. Large parking lot that is gated. We did have to park all the way in the back when we came back Friday night around 12am. There we're still spots but just far away. Overall we enjoyed the hotel. All the staff we came in contact with were nice and friendly even the house keeping. I would stay here again if I'm in the area. read more

I was denied my hotel room when I tried to check in because I didn't have my husbands Id but has my id with the same last name and the Marriott app logged in to show the reservation and the credit card that was used for the reservation with my name on it. After over an hour of arguing we were let into our room. I would have left if it wasn't after midnight. We were suppose to have a 3 night stay here we stayed the one night and finished out our trip elsewhere. Stay away- there are many more Marriott's in the area that will treat you right. read more

But not until security comes banging on my door like I'm having some frat party at 9 pm at night scared the hell out of my fiance who was startled and appalled by their aggressiveness I just recently got out of the shower and was not decent these men say thay smell smoke? he wanted to come in the room?  I don't smoke and haven't that is a disgusting habit. **NEW ROOM REVIEW** As a very frequent elite guest, I was given a 'just released' newly redecorated room on the 16th floor. In fact, The front desk insisted I take the room, even though it was not yet ready. They came and found me later and move me from a room on the eighth floor to the 16th floor, citing my elite status, and their desire that I take one of the newly released rooms. I wish I had stayed where I was. I use the term redecorated, and the hotel uses the term "renovated"; let's be clear that the room has just been refaced. Yes, hallways have new lighting carpet etc., but the rooms are still largely the same design, same outdated HVAC, and the same bathroom fixtures. It is very disappointing, especially given the disruption and delays frequent guests like myself have endured. The room itself has had the carpet replaced with tile, which I am not a fan of. The closet has been shrunk in half to accommodate built-ins which seem to have a limited utility. The dresser has been replaced with a very low luggage rack which is too narrow to accommodate a roller board suitcase. There is no longer a luggage rack in the room as it would not fit in the narrow closet. The bathroom is a joke. When might have hoped they would replace outdated bathtubs with standup showers which is frequently found in new (value brand) Marriott Springhill Suites. No, my room had the same beat up enamel missing bathtub that has been here for probably 30 years. Equally shocking was the showerhead had not been replaced and was still clogged with mineral deposits and dirt. The hanging ceiling tiles - which I think run about $2 each - are not replaced, with dirt and mold still visible at the joints. Worst was the room was not clean. I'm not sure why the insistence I removed was what it was, as the room was not ready for a guest. I was faced with a choice of either suffering through the dust still left in cracks and crevices, or opening the slider and enduring the sounds of traffic noise all night so that I could breathe. I hope that someone at the hotel reads this review and adjust their "renovation plans" before they completely ruin this property. read more

Truly an exceptional Marriott resort in the heart of Irvine's Lakeshore Towers District. Top perks include the turf training lawn down by the pool, the extra large pool and covered jacuzzi area, but it catches shade most of the day as it's surrounded by towers. YNK only open latter in the week is the speakeasy vibe that you've always wanted in Irvine, just look for the small sliding door behind the bar. My favorite menu items here include the Mahi Tacos, Dry Rub Wings, and the top notch desserts in the Elite M Lounge for the Bonvoy members with a little clout. read more

Apparently when we checked in and asked about parking they neglected to tell us that when we gave them our ticket from the parking machine that instead of validating it for us, like we thought due to being a guest there, they were charging us! Never have I stayed at a hotel and been charged for parking OR internet...at least with out disclosing it!! The staff could care a less about our concerns nor did management !! Rooms are not the biggest but they're super clean and relaxing. The decor is calming. The hotel itself is incredibly clean! A majority of the guests here are business people but we stayed here with our two toddlers (ages 3 and 4)and we had no problems. The staff was so kind and courteous. If you have access to their M club concierge lounge you have to check it out. It's huge and during service hours they offer amazing food. Faith is one of the servers in there and she's absolutely amazing. The lounge itself is open 24/7 if you need drinks (coffee, tea, juice, soda, bottled water- I even think they might have energy drinks) and small items like a bag of potato chips or yogurt. When they are serving food for breakfast you'll find the usual : bacon, eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, oatmeal bar, every pastry under the sun... For dinner they had amazing stuff like cilantro lime grilled chicken and pineapple salsa over cilantro rice and beef egg rolls with cilantro ranch dipping sauce. Just superb! read more

But not only did she honor my requests just the whole interaction was genuine for me and that's one thing I love about a great customer service. **Note this review is based on the airport parking services the hotel provides** Unlike many of the hotels in the John Wayne SNA airport area that provide airport shuttle services once an hour (on the top of the hour), Irvine Marriott provides a twice hourly shuttle to the airport and a twice hourly shuttle pickup from the airport. In this way, Irvine Marriott stands out among the rest. Airport parking can be booked via easyparkfly.com -- $9/day for self-park and $11/day for valet parking (both prices include tax). All you need to do is drive up to the ticket machine, press the button for a ticket, park your car, then ride the shuttle to the airport. Make sure you have your easyparkfly receipt printed out because when you leave the parking area, you show the gate attendant your ticket and easyparkfly receipt. The airport shuttle leaves the hotel at the top of the hour and at the 30 minute mark. The shuttle picks passengers up from the ground transportation center at the 15 minute and 45 minute mark. This is great because if you miss your shuttle, you only need to wait at most 30 minutes (not 1 hour like other hotels in the area). The drivers also work at the hotel: they are bubbly, friendly, and chatty -- so it definitely makes the ride to/from the airport an enjoyable albeit short ride. Overall, Irvine Marriott's airport shuttle services are very convenient and definitely worth the $9/day. Other hotels that offer airport parking are cheaper (usually around $7/day) but they are farther away from the airport (usually in Newport Beach or Costa Mesa) and their shuttles come only once an hour. Unfortunately, my review doesn't have a wealth of details to offer about the Irvine Marriott (or pictures...). Literally in town just for Vicky L.'s wedding (congrats again!), my stay in Irvine lasted for all of 20 hours (a fraction of which was even spent in the hotel). However, if I had to sum up my stay in a single word, it'd be "convenient". Located about five minutes away from John Wayne, getting here from the airport is a breeze. No joke, they're like five blocks apart. I had debated on renting a car (the parking lot is huge, though I don't know what the nightly rate is), but quickly abandoned that idea once I realized how close the two were. Of course, the fact they have a free airport shuttle didn't hurt (it loops around every thirty minutes). As for the hotel itself, the lobby is pretty nice (clearly renovated), but the room was nothing special. The double queen I split with my friend was decently spacious and came equipped with all of the typical amenities (ironing board, hair dryer, though I don't know about wi-fi), but it had a somewhat dated look. Still, the mini balcony that you could step out onto was pretty cool. Since i didn't explore much of the rest of the hotel, I'm not 100% sure on what else it has to offer. However, as far as I could tell, there's a decent bar and restaurant in the lobby, a nice pool, gym, and a small pantry for any snacks or toiletries you might want/need. Best of all though, there's a Starbucks in the lobby at the base of the elevators. Now THAT is convenience! Although my stay was quite short, I can't say I had any complaints during my stay. If anything, a couple of the bellhops/shuttle drivers could have been a little more helpful, but the staff working the front desk were great. All in all, I'd stay here again, especially for the convenience and location. Amazing.. Great service from all associates. Clean and comfortable rooms. Ours was a king with a walk in shower. I really like not stepping over a tub. Good food and nice atmosphere in the lounge. Overall a great experience. read more
