Excellent guide. Mario was punctual, honest and professional. He was fun and put us on to fish. Our group caught several steelhead each!

The massive lawn out back extends right up to the river and is surrounded by mountainous forests in the distance. It's a spectacular view especially as the sun goes down. We enjoyed the sunsets on lawn chairs - they are set up under big trees outside each unit as well as in a few other places across the grass. The fire pit next to the water (with chairs and cut firewood) is perfect to chat around as the sky turns dark. The rooms are attached to small but full kitchens which are shared between adjacent units (two rooms per kitchen). We had no trouble navigating kitchen use. There are coffee grounds and a coffee pot in each room, so you won't need to worry about sharing the kitchen if that's all you plan to make. The only issue we ran into was finding shampoo and conditioner (there are no sample sizes here), but there is a market just a 5 minute drive away. Normally we would've brought our own but we stopped for a night here after a week-long backpacking trip in the Trinity Alps Wilderness. Theresa was extremely helpful in accommodating all our needs, even allowing us to use her laundry soap and appliances to wash our clothes! We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. Many thanks to Theresa and the Klamath River Resort Inn.

You can venture out into the surrounding area easily, or just opt to relax at the Inn. The amenities therein are a little sparse, but that's why being so near to Happy Camp is nice: you can easily hit the market up for supplies. The rooms share kitchens, but are separate otherwise. This would be a great place to do a group trip with two or more rooms rented in conjunction. There is also a grill and patio area over near the volleyball lawn. Nice staff, and the grounds were well kept up. For the money we spent, the experience was well worth it.

There is a depth and breadth of expertise and care in how it is run that makes this a very special experience. The horses are loved, well-trained and contented, the staff are all adorable, the food glorious. We were fully occupied from morning until night, coasting from one unforgettable and enriching experience to the next. The ranch itself is stunning, and set in a spectacular landscape. Each activity was of the highest quality and it felt enormously luxurious to be in such capable hands throughout. It was a stretch for us financially but absolutely some of the best money we have ever spent

All the activities are scheduled so carefully that I was able to participate in everything I wanted to do. Their horses are very well cared for, well behaved and trained. No swaybacked trail nags here! The up to date whitewater rafts and staff were all very knowledgeable and safety oriented. We had some GREAT rapids rides!! The shooting involved expert SAFE instruction and a revolving set of varied experiences with different weapons. The children in attendance had the time of their lives as did this 74 year old horsewoman! The ranch is self sufficient ( off the grid) and well off the beaten path. A real community developed amongst the guests under the guidance and warm personalities of Heidi and Doug. The 30 plus years of love and devotion to the upkeep of the natural beauty of their ranch showed in the gardens and plantings of flowers and trees in abundance. Even the gaggle of teenaged sisters spent less time in the lodge (the only WiFi) than one would have imagined! A fun and deeply relaxing time in nature was had by all. I will definitely be back again! Happy Trails!

Tons of folks with boating equipment and stuff to hang out by the lake front and relax, fish, or have a picnic. The trail itself is a loop and you can turn around at any point. If you're interested in a little bit more seclusion, there is plenty of space to spread out and relax, looking up at the base of Mt Shasha!

We stopped by after eating around the area (recommend the smokehouse or bbq, stay away from the Mexican food at all costs!!) So we went to cable beach and got off and walked around and went to the lake to skip rocks and hang out as we unfortunately forgot our bathing suits. The view was so incredible, and perfect I couldn't even believe the how breathtaking it was at sunset . We skipped many rocks and even made it into a competition which I won, then I went off and found a great stump to take pictures on and unfortunately I slipped and fell on the rocks. Caution! Many rocks here so take water shoes or something with a thick bottom! Although it was pretty funny I'm still hurting haha. We saw boats on the lake and some people off to the side having a picnic and taking a dip in the lovely, warm water. All in all this was an incredible place to stop by and visit! I highly, highly, highly, HIGHLYYY recommend coming here!
