They go above and beyond to make our entire experience wonderful. Professional and polite, they work from the ground and from up in the tree, carefully removing only what is needed to make our tree healthy and able to handle strong storms and icy winters. They clean the yard when complete, taking and mulching all debris. We will continue to use them every time such work is needed and highly recommend Elite Arborist.

Adjacent to the front door entrance of my single-family home, there was a space of ground filled with dead and obviously dying shrubs and bushes which was the aftermath of that historic cold spell that hit us here in Texas in February of 2021. Finally, I decided to do something about that eyesore. I made contact with Carlos Torres, a landscaping specialist with the Complete Tree Services, Inc. In my conversation with Mr. Torres in front of my house, he told me that his work crew could dig up, remove my group of ten shrubs and nearly six feet high bushes and replace them with a beautiful sight of greenery (I don't recall his exact words). Anyway, Carlos spoke with such sincerity about what his landscape crew could do. I believe what he told me, so I gave him the go ahead. Well needless to say, Carlos didn't exaggerate. In my humble opinion, his people backed up his promise (and then some). In one day, his crew proved to be masters of their craft. To merely say that I was satisfied with their finished work would be an understatement. Now don't get me wrong. The replanting that was done wasn't anything elaborate. In fact, I would call it a cross between simplicity with just a touch of elegance. Well, I guess that's about all I have to report about my experience with Carlos Torres and the good people at Complete Tree Services. Please forgive me for making this customer review so long! I hadn't intended to when I first started this email. Oh well... Philip Roane Fort Worth, TX

Big Gorilla Tree Service

7 years ago, this cute little sapling popped up in one of my flowerpots, so I planted it in my yard…read morebetween the house, and the fence. I figured it was native to Texas, and I wanted a bit of shade in the backyard. It grew like a weed, and in three years it was giving us shade. In six years, it was over the roof, giving us shade, dropping leaves and twigs regularly, and we had to duck under its branches to mow the yard! I thought it might be a weeping willow, and I kinda fell in love with it. Unfortunately, I was the only one weeping, as the white willow's roots made a move on my house's foundation, and plumbing! Sorry Will, but ya gotta go! I searched Yelp, found several tree services that were local, and sent a short list to the husband. He called the one I put last on the list--skipping my top choices. He made the call, and Big Gorilla's owner showed up to give us an estimate. BGTS was $1,000 lower than a spitball quote we got from our roofer. I hate making decisions like this, and thought about getting more estimates....but I'm a procrastinator at heart, and I was impressed with BGTS's competent attitude. I decided to just get it done. The team of four--I think--came out the next day, blocking my driveway, (I didn't love that, but there's not much room on our street,) putting up cones to block their trucks, and got to work. By lunch, the tree was gone, the stump was ground six inches below the ground, and the roots threatening my house were dug up and destroyed. They had even gathered up all the sticks around the tree, and removed the debris as well. They left a small mound of woodchips to cover the hole left behind. My husband watched them on our home cameras, and he said they had pulled out monstrous roots, snaking through the yard. It's kind of sad to see the tree gone. It's even sadder to see the money gone to remove it. Not gonna lie, I thought about buying a chainsaw and sending hubs, and son-in-law out for a much cheaper DIY. But arms and fingers don't grow back, and even if they could take it down, the stump would remain without buying the heavy equipment. BGTS did exactly what I needed. They were on time, professional, efficient, didn't damage my plumbing, or the sprinkler system, cleaned up after themselves, and took a credit card payment at the door. They will now be first on my list I'm shopping for fruit trees now!

Timely, professional and cost effective. I appreciate their workmanship and highly recommend.read more

A little over a year ago we bought a home with a lot of marginal oak trees clustered too close…read moretogether in spots around the property. One of these spots had two trees leaning out and over the homes roof, with one of them lifting a concrete walkway right next to the house. We needed an arborist to assess their risk to be compliant with the town's requirements for removal, and we called out Tree Shepherds. Let me start by saying that Randy F is one of the most thoughtful arborists we've ever done business with. He came out and assessed all the trees on the property, produced a quote for removal along with a letter to the town explaining the risks, and trimming and care for all the other trees on our property. It was a lot of work, the trees had been in their "natural" state for a long time. Don't get me wrong that's fine, but they were not healthy due to the crowding and abundance of dead snags, bugs, etc. After receiving permission for removal from the town, we had Tree Shepherds out to do about half our tree trimming and care at the same time. This was mostly due to cost. The workers were fantastic, and did an amazing job cleaning the yard. Communication was perfect. Before time came to get the other half of our trees taken care of, a more "budget friendly" company came knocking at our door. For less than half the cost they took care of the other half, and I deeply regret it. A year after that, you can literally look at our trees and see which were cared for by tree shepherds. They're flush, healthy, and vigorous. The other companies heavy cut focus and lack of focus on trimming for growth really shows. Now one of those trees cared for by the budget company is on it's last legs. We're nursing it with the help of tree shepherds, and perhaps nothing would have been able to save it regardless of who trimmed it. But it's Tree Shepherds or no one for us from now on. I can't recommend them enough. Spend a little extra, get a lot more quality.
