First tattoo ever and I chose a mid shop. Sorry guys but you were rude when I talked to you and gave me this weird attitude when I told another artist about the tattoo I wanted to get. I got a yin yang tattoo on my inner arm and I got rude vibes from the dude who tattooed me. I only tipped him out of fear that he would yell at me. Is this place worth it? Price-wise, it's okay, and as for proper tattoo care/aftercare, it was kinda just meh. They didn't tell me anything about proper aftercare or healing, they just kinda let me pay then leave. Before I saw anyone for a consultation I was charged $100 which is fine I understand. I saw Orlando for 5 minutes went over my tattoo idea and he said he would have it ready in a week. Two months later nothing. Every time I would call him he said he would have it ready that weekend and nothing. I emailed, left a message with his assistant asking for a refund for service that were never provided. No response. He's an artist. His lines are clean and he's quick and detailed with his outlines. His shading is impeccable. Not only on my tattoos but also on some portait tattoos I've seen him finish. Orlando has the ability to take a concept you have in your mind and put it down on paper before inking. I've seen him take an idea a client brought in and in a few days draw an awesome version of what the client wanted. I've even explained what I've wanted and the end product surpassed what I expected. If you want a cheap "point to a picture on the wall" tattoo shop, this isn't the place for you. You get what you pay for with tattoos. World famous tattoo artists are booked months in advance, so that fact an artist as good as Orlando is able to get you in to the shop within days to weeks is above par. This shop is very clean as well. When you're dealing with tattoos that's a huge deal. I can't even count how many times Orlando has cleaned his work station and changed gloves just in one session. The work speaks for itself. I've never heard of anyone getting an Orlando/Iron Crown tattoo reworked or redone. He does it right the first time. Don't take my word for it. I travel all over the USA for my job with a golf company and I happened to wander down around the Monterrey peninsula and there are 3 shops around there and after investigation I wandered into Iron Crown Tattoo where I just started randomly having a conversation with Orlando, not knowing his story or that he owned the shop. I have had some other work done around the country and have had conversations with many artists and based on the book and the vibe I get from the artist is where I draw my conclusion of whether I want to get work done. He was super friendly from the get go and he had a true understanding of everything from sports, to art, to anything you'd want to know about. He was extremely professional and absolutely did a sick job of my idea of building onto my sleeve with "The Great Wave of Katsumi" I enjoyed the whole experience and you can't beat the view of the Pacific Ocean afterward. I've come here many times before and loved it. Orlando has always been professional and did good work. I moved away from the area, and I scheduled with him to do a tattoo when I was visiting. I had some unforeseen circumstances that would cause me to be around 30/40 minutes late, and when I messaged Orlando, he said forget it I have prior engagements. This rubbed me the wrong way of course, why would you schedule me if 30 min time difference meant you wouldn't be able to do it? Then, through the afternoon he posts pictures of walk ins he had taken during MY appointment time. He's incredibly unprofessional.
