They're kind, always willing to explain the tests, processes, and results so that they're easy to understand. The office offers tons of glasses options and the staff are always willing to answer any questions you may have about lens options and how they can work with your insurance to help you upgrade your glasses or make adjustments. Appointments can sometimes be a little hard to come by as they have serviced the Mililani community for many decades at this point but it isn't much of an issue if you plan ahead. They're always very flexible when it comes to immediate need as much as they can. If you want to find a community based caring pair of doctors, you should definitely become a patient of theirs. There's a reason why so many in the community have chosen this office to be their own.

It is very easy to find his office, which is conveniently located in the shopping plaza just off of Farrington Highway in the same complex as Savers and L & L Drive-Inn. It is a bright, well-organized welcoming office with a well amount of seating and lots of options for a new pair of glasses or two. I always gravitated towards their bebe and Gucci higher end lines with all the bling and sparkle. Dr. Kubo is such a nice down-to-earth guy with a lot of personality. He always made me laugh and feel very comfortable during the entire examination and testing. They often got busy on Saturdays, which was normally the only day I could only make it out to see him, but we were usually seen on time and never felt rushed during our exams. He always took his time going over our medical history and any new concerns we had. My family and I highly recommend going to see him if you're looking for a good Optometrist.

On the day of my Saturday appointment, Dr. Chin was behind schedule because an elderly patient required extra care. After waiting for an hour, they finally asked Dr. Miki to examine me. I'm so glad I saw Dr. Miki instead, otherwise this review would have had negative stars (I know that's not possible, but you know what I mean). The week of my eye exam, I had really bad vertigo and missed work for 3 days straight. The urgent care dr that I saw told me to go to the ER if the vertigo didn't improve. On the day of my appointment I was still experiencing mild vertigo and the Friday before I had numbness on my left hand. I was glad I had my eye appointment because I know they can dilate my eyes and also do eye mapping to see if there's something going on with me. Not only did Dr. Miki squeeze me into her schedule, but she did a thorough examination. She thought it was something that needed to be seen by the ER doctors so she wrote a dr's note asking them to run some tests and conduct an MRI just to make sure. She even gave me her personal cell number so I can have the ER call her with any questions, with instructions to call her anytime. Almost a week after my appointment, Dr. Miki called to follow up on my medical progress. Now that is a caring Dr!!! In contrast, Dr. Chin didn't even speak to me nor did she apologize for not being able to see me and for pawning me off to another doctor. I was the last patient there and she didn't even acknowledge me when she walked by. Anyway, ER couldn't figure out what's wrong with me, and I'm working with other medical specialists to figure out what's causing my vertigo, but I will be forever grateful to Dr. Miki for going above and beyond. I will definitely be booking my eye appointments and my children's appointments with her in the future. Oh, and before I forget, Dr. Miki has such a gentle bedside manner and her voice is so soothing during the exam.

(Honestly, they probably need one of those text message appointment reminder systems.) PLUS, this was literally the most pleasant eye exam I have ever had. The optometrist was friendly, professional, and explained everything to me. They took pictures of my eyes and it was the coolest thing ever to see! I will be recommending this office to my friends.

First of all I have…read moremy own optometrist, but because of a change in my insurance (Medicare) and this optometrist is close to home, accepted my insurance, and my out of pocket was minimal. All I wanted was to use my own frames, and get new eyeglass lenses. What I thought was a simple procedure, ended up to be a NIGHTMARE !!!! Mind you, I dropped off my eyeglasses on October 29th at 1:45pm and after numerous excuses... such as your prescription is difficult, or it will be ready next week, they still need more time, the lenses didn't pass inspection, and long waiting times on the phone to check the status of my glasses, I was at my wits end!!!! Whatever lab they use to make their patients eyeglasses, I would definitely recommend that your office select a different lab if you things cannot be completed in a timely manner. If you're looking to get glasses made, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND YOU GET THEM MADE HERE!!! It is December 18th, 9 am, and I called the office to check on the status of my eyeglasses and they were actually ready! I was surprised they I didn't call, being that my glasses were long overdue! I went to pick it up, and was given my glasses and a receipt. Isn't it usually protocol that someone would have you try on your glasses and make sure it fit properly, and adjust it if necessary? NOTHING!! Disappointing and absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! *Granted there were some office staff that were helpful and sensed my frustration, and I knew it was out of their control. Dr. Nakagawa, it seems like your reviews indicate that you're a nice guy, and I'm sure you must be, but please do better with getting your eyeglass labs to be more accurate and timely.
