I've been extremely impressed with the care I've received from both the doctors and their staff. In their Herndon location, they even have onsite ability to conduct standard serum testing. This streamlining for me is coupled with the extremely generous amount of time that doctors spend during appointments. I feel that the concierge practice model has provided care far exceeding what my old local medical practice had become after losing a few key physicians through retirement. I'm not sure if they are accepting new patients, but if Lifetime Internal Medicine is, I highly advise trying this 'small' team concierge solution as a return to times when medicine was practiced by Doctors instead of Doctors applying a one-size-fits-all template strategy for the codified roll-out of big-med:-)

I joined Dr. Marathe's practice after experiencing long waits to see my primary care physician in a large corporate practice and was forced to use my local Urgent Care for everyday health needs. I can't tell you what a relief it is to have found Dr. Marathe and a practice that puts patients first!

Why do I LOVE Dr. Walsh? Let me count the ways…read more.. Dr. Walsh does not take insurance, doesn't have any other doctors in her office, and doesn't have nurses or a receptionist. Scheduling is all online, through her very informative website. While some may see that as a negative, I see that as a positive, especially when looking at the cost of service. I am paying a low, preset fee to see the doctor. I am not also paying for a receptionist, an insurance billing specialist, and a nurse. I pay my $90, I send the bill to my insurance myself and I save a ton of money. Dr. Walsh does not have a receptionist or nurses. When I go see her, I see HER from start to finish, instead of passing through various people to get a hurried 10 minutes of time with a physician. Contacting her is also easier, because I don't have to go through multiple layers to get to her. You know how it usually goes....call the office, leave a message for the doctor, get a call back from the nurse, explain everything to the nurse, who will then discuss it with the doctor, only to get a call back from the nurse saying the doctor wants you to come in. Ugh. With Dr. Walsh, I email her directly, and she either emails or calls me back in hours, not days. If she can help without coming in to see her, she will. She is not in it for the cash. Dr. Walsh does not have back up doctors. This means you are never confronted with a total stranger if something happens. My niece had a rather unpleasant experience with a cyst, and not only did Dr. Walsh come into the office on a Sunday night to take care of it, she even offered to go to my niece if she couldn't drive herself. No backup doctor would do that. Actually, unless you are having a baby, no regular or backup doctor does anything after hours, you go to the ER with all the other injured/sick people. Dr. Walsh doesn't have a thousand patients. This allows her time to keep tabs on things like prescription prices, and where and how to get the best deal. Did you know that sometimes, it is cheaper to pay out of pocket instead of insurance? Neither did I, until she told me that my $35 inhaler through insurance was $12.50 at Costco if I didn't use my insurance. Copays are tricksy and she knows where you can get the best price. Because she keeps her patient list small, she knows her patients. Really KNOWS them... she doesn't need to look in my chart to know why I see her or what is going on. She knows my name, my history, my family, and all the other aspects that you learn about people you know. This is only part of why she is an excellent physician. And here is the really important part....she really is an excellent physician. She knows her stuff and she will take good care of you. You will feel cared for, not rushed through an antibiotics cattle call. If you are looking for a practice with lots of warm bodies to pay attention to you, then this isn't the practice for you. If you are looking for excellent medical care from a wonderful physician, you won't find better than Dr. Walsh.

He is open-minded but conservative, and his instincts are to be relied on without hesitation. He is also an exceptionally kind and decent man. When my daughter was quite ill and running low on options, Shor stepped in and saved the day. Since then, he's provided her with first-rate care as her general practitioner. Don't really know how to put it without sounding over-the-top and silly, but please take my word: He is simply the best there is.

What are my chances of scoring an appointment last minute? Will they think I'm weird if I ask too many questions?! I was recommended to come see Dr. Thathagari at the NOVA Medical Services Center from a co-worker of mine who too can relate to my nonsense hypochondriac concerns. I thought I had meningitis (turns out it was more or less just a bad headache) but Dr. Thathagari answered my countless questions and concerns with a high level of professionalism but also with a slight sense of good natured humour. One thing that is comforting is if you call the office after hours if you have a question or suddenly get sick, Dr. Thathagari always checks the office voicemail and sometimes calls are forwarded to her cell phone. That is SERVICE if I've ever seen it!! I've never had a doctor do that before. So awesome. It's nice to know that doctors have that much concern for their patients. As for finding appointments-- I was able to get a weekend appointment with no problem at all. Their hours are pretty flexible and the office is open, at the latest, around 6 pm on weekdays. So if need be, you can schedule an appointment and not have to take time off from work-- a win-win situation. One thing to be wary about is that this doctor's office is shared with a pediatrician's office-- I rolled up to the office and I got some odd looks-- people must've thought I was lost! Rest assured though, you're definitely in the right place.

I needed to get a work travel COVID-19 test and a colleague of mine mentioned Mosaic Theory MD. I reached out and was greeted by someone who was courteous, professional and eager to assist. After they put my information into their systems, I immediately begin to receive text messages that send you secure links for paperwork and status updates on your visit to the clinic. The receptionist patiently walked me through everything (which took only a few minutes) and scheduled a visit for me. Here is where it gets better...We live lives that are filled with so much sensory overload that we tend to forget things that are important to us (maybe you don't...but I would forget my head if it wasn't attached to me.) Mosaic Theory MD's automated SMS system sends you text messages with information like schedule, who you need to call if you have questions, where you need to go INCLUDING where to park, virtual office check-in so you have limited contact with anyone who could be infected AND test results once your test is completed. Just Beautiful. Am I right? Meanwhile...your other primary care specialist who claims they have the latest and greatest technology is still sending you one email at random that may hit your spam folder and if you have questions you can just go in circles with an automated operator until they hang up on you. I digress... This is the way healthcare SHOULD be. It was so smooth and seamless. This is the first time I was shown the value in spending money on a healthcare service that is looking towards the future. Well done Mosaic Theory. I will certainly be back and will recommend you as much as I can. Sincerely, -H
