Hello Mrs. Tam last night as I was helping Brielle with her homework, where she had to read the sentence in order to see what picture goes there, we were able to put into practice some of the lessons you've taught her. I was able to witness her reading majority of the words from the sentence for the first time. Although it was about 4 to 5 words she read, it was so wonderful to experience and hear her do that mainly on her own for the first time after a few classes with you and her wonderful 1st grade teacher. Ms. Tam is excellent. My son has been enrolled in one of her online classes for about 3 months, and his reading skills have skyrocketed. I also supplement reading with him nightly, for about 10 minutes before bed. He is 4.5 years old, and is reading at a level that is probably a year ahead, thanks to our work at home and Ms. Tam. I usually sit in on every class; Ms. Tam has an excellent style. She is firm and does a great job holding boundaries with the kids, but is also extremely kind and encouraging. Our 5 year old is already reading now, in just 3 weeks. She's in TK and I was concerned that she wasn't practicing her reading skills enough at school. My daughter had just turned four when she started biweekly classes with Ms. Tam virtually. It's been six months now and I have to say it is one of our best investments for our daughter. Our son missed nearly half of kindergarten due illness then school closures during pandemic. He struggled with reading, spelling, writing and this made him unmotivated during class. Ms. Tam is definitely one of a kind!!! My six year old is attending Spanish dual immersion, currently in virtual kindergarten. It's a 90/10 model. Ms. Tam and Ms. Valerie are AWESOME! I have a 6 year old daughter just start Kinder this year. She attends twice a week and we been enrolled for about half a year now. Before my daughter was not comfortable with online classes as she felt boring and less focused. With the help of both wonderful teachers here, I was able to see a drastic change on my 6 year old. May son joined Ms. Tams class in February and I cannot thank her enough. My son was struggling to recognize his letters and put the sounds to each one. I desperately needed to find someone help my 5 years old daughter with phonics. We have been reading books to her every night in addition to her pre-K program.
