If I could give zero stars I would. All I wanted to do was open an account - gave required ID (which originally was just 2 pieces, but she 'fat fingered' my SS number so they wanted more ID...really, was treated like a criminal for not having more ID with me. I wasn't asking for money, I was going to give them some (even wanted to open a few CDs for large amounts). I have, which they ran, an excellent credit score so not sure what else they want. Clerks didn't even care when I told him I'd be taking by business, and money somewhere else. read more

I have mixed feelings about this bank, it hasn't been horrible but it hasn't been the greatest. The St John's branch is -meh-. I say this because I always feel like they're judging my husband/self but I try not to make it a race thing. But the issues I face at this branch are specific to this one. I love the N Williams and the Vancouver/Main St. locations and have never felt this at those locations. read more

I can't believe the low review score IQ Battle Ground has received. This is the bank I chose when we first moved here from California twenty years ago, on the recommendation of my son who lived here. I have received nothing but top notch service from all the staff working here. Anytime I have had to apply for a loan or made transfers to another bank, with their help the process has been seemless. Horrible customer.service. have been placed on a fraud alert multiple times when trying to use a credit card I've had with them for several years. Getting sales calls even though I'm on the do not call registry. Tried to add my wife as a joint on my checking account and they ran her credit and denied the request. Denied my own requests for a credit limit increase for years when I had a credit score over 750 and then turn around and give me an increase five times what I asked for without my permission on a card that I rarely use now because of the fraud alerts. This place used to be great when it was still Lacamas. Ever since IQ took over, their customer service has been horrible. The only reason I even use them still is for direct deposit and several automatic deductions (bills), seriously considering moving the remainder of my business elsewhere. read more

Oh, my goodness. Seriously, I have never experienced such awesome service on an ongoing basis. I'm a refugee of big bank institutions, and just opened my first credit union accounts earlier this year (I feel like such a big kid now!) The branch manager walked me through the entire process - and *gasp* gave me useful information on how to make smart financial choices. I sure as heck wish I'd talked to her when I was eighteen. It's been nothing but good, and my credit score has gone up noticeably since following her advice. I can't ask for more. read more

Just tolerable. To be fair I'll call out the location and services. Fourth Plain near 162nd Ave. Several trips, 1st. Drive thru, pulled up with no other cars present, and was asked to wait. I waited almost 5 minutes for the teller to finish whatever she was doing on the terminal. No explanation of why it took so long. It was as if I was just supposed to understand. Just the way it was. Verbally polite, but not the kind of service, or courtesy you should expect. 2nd trip. Drive through, simple check cashing for small dollar amount. Provided the check with 2 coins to round up to 2 larger bills. I didn't want a handful. She gave me back 7 bills, and didn't bother asking first if I wanted something different. People who handle money all day understand this unwritten request with courtesy. On a positive note, the Vancouver Mall location went above and beyond to try and provide me with an auto loan, so good service for this purpose! But when I finally financed I got a much better, and more flexible rate from Columbia Credit Union. Perhaps I should take all my accounts there. read more

Horrible customer service, or perhaps you could say that customer service simply doesn't exist. We recently moved to WA, and thought we would try the credit union route and get away from big banks, and our previous bank didn't have branches in WA. From the outset, we were treated like second-class citizens for having less than perfect credit, although we weren't shopping for financial products, just basic banking. They continually put holds of up to ten business days on simple (and small, a thousand or two) checks. Yesterday, we forgot about a pending charge, and it caused a domino effect of $30 charges for each debit card use, for things that were a few dollars. This happened yesterday, I logged on, and immediately drove down to the Camas IQ branch. Where I was told, albeit with a smug and cheerful smile, that this is credit union policy, so sorry, what else can we do for you today. They refuse to budge on a pile of these fees and said didn't we know we could opt out of letting debits go through, etc. The phone customer service was perhaps worse than the branch employees, and said so sorry, go ahead and close your account if you don't like us. The 'shared branch' feature that is supposed to compensate for the credit union not having locations nationwide is terrible. I used it in two other major cities, and it would take 20 minutes to make a simple deposit, because you have to go to other credit unions, who are generally irritated that you are taking up their time with a shared branch credit union, and once I was not allowed to make a $1,000 cash deposit to my own account because I didn't have my driver's license with me. We have already opened a new account with Wells Fargo in Vancouver, and they seem to want the business. I am appalled at how they treated us at IQ. Yes, we obviously are responsible for not letting our account go negative, I understand that, but we're talking about a one-time isolated mistake, and for all the heat big banks take about their fees, I guarantee any for-profit bank would have taken a different attitude, because they want to keep customers regardless. I am a successful business owner of 34 years. I own multiple businesses and properties, two of which I was looking to refinance to get a lower rate with no cash back. It was suggested to me from a business associate to check with IQ Credit Union for rates. I did so in the middle of May 2013, dealing with David Campos. David is very knowledgeable and personable. He asked for the necessary documentation (financials, past appraisals, tax returns etc.). After determining that the businesses were strong with good cash flow we agreed on a rate of 4.35 to 4.5. Locking the rate and completing the refinance in a timely fashion were most important to me. Rates were changing and David assured me he would honor the rate. David was busy with other business loans ( I was informed ) but there was a good chance we could complete the refi by the end of July. It took eight months and numerous phone calls for IQ (David) just to request appraisals for my two locations. From the middle of Dec ( rates in lending have gone up significantly ) communication was breaking down. Calls were not being returned and requested actions were being shelved. During the first week of March, 2014, I experienced 3 unreturned calls. I went to IQCU and met with Ed ( VP of Business Development with IQCU ). It was then I received a call back from David informing me they were not able to do the loans. I was most disappointed with the process of how David handled my situation. There was poor communication, 10 months of waiting, many hours of my time in providing information and $7500 of nonrefundable appraisal fees. It's become clear to me that IQ Credit Union struggles with small business needs. It's certainly not their strong suit. I'm fortunate enough to have options. Other small-business persons may not. This is information that I hope will help each person make a good business decision. Mine is not to do business with IQ Credit Union. read more

For basic services, IQ credit union is usually fine. But performing several operations, they are less than adequate. A number of years ago, they took an excessive amount of time to cash checks that were relatively small in amount (less than $60) from one of the largest school districts in the state, even though I had been a customer for more than 20 years. Much more recently, they seemed to be at a loss to complete an international money wire. Believe it or not, they required an American Banking Assoc. (ABA) code for a foreign bank in order to process the international wire. This requirement made it impossible to complete the wire, because foreign banks do not have an American code - m have a SWIFT code. US Bank, Citi, etc do not require the American code for an intl. wire, but IQ does. I made repeated contacts with the bank, but at no time would they allow me to talk with anyone directly who processed these transactions. It was obvious that no one could talk intelligently on this topic, other than to say it was a requirement. And in truth, it made it impossible to complete the money transfer. read more

I wish there was a no stars option. I as with the other reviewers was a super, super happy Lacamas credit union customer for over 15 years. Multiple mortgages, couple seamless refis- even one from a woman who gently and correctly chided me like a grandma to keep my refi'ing in check- turned out she was spot on, and really cared. I had a death in the family and had to donate $3000 to the funeral etc and the check was ready after my phone call 15 mins later. I've banked with about 7 or 8 major institutions and lacamas blew them all away. Then these horrible greedy IQ people took it over. Fist thing out of the chute- jack up my credit card rate- I was unimpressed as I have an over 800 credit score and credit card offers come in like 5 to 10 a day. So I cancelled it. Then I noticed major staff reductions and lines growing on friday {payday}. Next, they ripped out all the nice open teller booths, like 15 of them, put up a crappy portable wall cutting the nice open lobby in half and put 2 stand up kiosk style booths right up near the door. So, now instead of a nice open lobby I feel like I'm at the ATT kiosk at the mall. Theres a couple of the stellar pre IQ employees and even they seem dismayed- something just isn't the same. I also don't like the new phone tree where its almost impossible to get to a real human. The worst part is you cant even GET A REAL HUMAN AFTER HOURS AND ALMOST ALL WEEKEND! tHIS IS WHERE i GOT SCREWED AND LEFT-. On easter morning at 7 am I went to the teller machine and deposited a $2000 paycheck and it printed a copy of the check and the screen blinked, and went blank. I sat there frantically punching buttons trying to get it alive again to no avail. Franticly drove 10 mins home and tried every option I could to get to a human and block my account. I had over $9000 at risk between my savings and checking and all I could think of is that stupid machine coming back to life still in the middle of my session, " Your $2000 deposit is in Mr A, do you want any more transactions?" Worse yet, the camas branch there is right next to a meth head filled trailer park, and around the corner a seedy biker filled motel. I'm sure if the atm blinked back to life- with the screen facing the sidewalk the meth heads walk to the lucky 7 store across the street to get their smokes and beer, they wouldnt take any money out right? Screw it, I'm out.. read more

IQ has done a fairly decent job of making this whole merger with Lacamas as seamless as possible. Obviously, there are going to be some hang ups along the way and they have addressed them promptly (at least in my experience). I would give 4 to 5 stars but there is always room for improvement. read more

not happy with the fact i can not directly contact my branch with a number --just the generic number for all branches-- waited 15 minutes then 10 minutes just to ask a question of when the drive thru open= Sent caregiver with a check for cash== $20-- and her id-- to go thru drive thru since open at 7:30 and they would not give her my quarters for laundry and it was even written on check under memo's -- they said she had to come in for finger print since not a member-- but bank didn't open for another 10 minutes=--and this is after she spent 7 minutes in drive thru line she has my card personal id card number etc and i am not well enough to get out some days and cannot put her on my account --so after always waiting in line at the drive thru for the washougal branch and all the hassle of trying to cash 20 dollars for laundry- i will be researching other credit unions-- i really miss lacamas credit union and their personal interactions with their clients and their professionalism and ability to give great service. This is not a one time bad experience since they changed from Lacamas credit union-- it is on going and irritating- especially since i have been with Lacamas for over 20 years and then they changed to this outfit!! read more

Since the merge with Lacamas, I Q serve is very poor, instead of spending money on advertising and sale gimmicks, these concentrate on serving their members. Their computer system is always having problems, and they're always changing programs. I 've been credit union member for 40 years and now I AM ready to change, sad. read more

I was a Lacamas Credit Union Member for 25 years. It was the best place to bank until IQ took over in late 2014. It has been down hill ever since. They changed all the things that made Lacamas so good. The customer service tanked and the policies and procedures declined as well. They are definitely not looking out for their customers and none of their policies make any sense. The website stinks, you can't make a member to member transfer online, they shortened their hours and only have one branch open on Saturday in Washougal of all places. It takes 10 minutes to make a deposit and the kiosk thing is really stupid. I am glad to say I am NO LONGER A MEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
