They were quick to respond to our initial boiler problem and when it became apparent that we needed to have a new boiler fitted they were able to move very quickly - we only had 2 nights without heating or hot water which I thought was a very good turnaround time. I didn't feel that the cost was unreasonable either despite our desperate circumstances (ie not heating or hot water). We will use them again for on-going boiler servicing and maintenance.

I was overcharged 1.5 hours labour when the engineer wasn't on site. Also, they don't bring the materials required for the job, I believe a tactical ploy to extend job duration and increase job cost. I will look elsewhere next time!! Job involved adding a 1 meter plastic pipe from stop tap into the kitchen, 5 hours charged in labour, disgraceful. Company director (Paul Masters) refused partial refund and clearly isn't aware of consumers rights. Unfortunately I was forced to pay after engineer finished (engineer wouldn't leave until paid), only was it on the invoice breakdown via email did I noticed the charges when the engineer was off on a jolly!!

They knew Bristol inside out (as you'd hope from an estate agent) but I felt really comfortable with them. When I used City Property Lets, it was the first time I tried to find a place with friends. It was during my first year when the university was telling me that I needed to start looking for houses right after Christmas and needed to have a house/flat all sorted by March. My friends and I were really panicking about finding the right place, but the estate agent calmed us down and helped us ask the right and necessary questions when we went house-hunting.

The company service both students and young professionals and listened to our concerns and responded to our quires in a timely manor. If we couldn't get hold of our landlord for any reason CPL would send out a maintenance man and when we had trouble getting out deposit back (direct from our landlord) we approached CPL and they took our issue seriously, contacting our landlord for an explanation immediately. When we went to look at a flat that we decided to rent, there were other people looking round at the same time as us. As the property was on a first come first served application process, we were anxious to fill out the forms straight away. Spotting this, our agent event gave us a lift from the property to the office so we didn't miss out - that's what I call good customer service.

They said it looked like the problem was actually mossy gutters so they cleaned the gutters. And charged £300. The issue got worse. I had to threaten them to get them back. They came back and said it was now a blocked downpipe. So how come they didn't see that in the first place. And that I should replace the gutters and they couldn't do that for £300.
