Before reading the below -- just go into the search reviews tool for yourself and type in "AC" and then "Hot", see how many people have complained about this theatre being too hot. A Customer Service Rep (Kelsey M.) has responded that there was no problem with the AC and that the limited menu was not in connection with this. This is a complete LIE, its also not the first time that iPic has been put on notice about the heat levels in the theatre (see reviews) and I don't think that you should be misrepresenting what customers are going to experience when they visit your business. I am not J.K. Rowling, so I don't have the imagination to come up with this detailed story. There was no AC there that night. This was not the first time but the second time that I visited this theater and complained to the staff that it was extremely HOT and was told that it was due to a broken AC. It was so hot, that the staff and customers were complaining. The staff specifically told us that the AC was broken again on the left side of the theatre (theatre rooms 1-5ish) and that there was a limited menu because the AC was out. Specifically, the staff stated that because the AC was broken, it was too hot in the kitchen for the staff to cook certain foods (e.g., frying foods) They were becoming overheated and it was advised that they discontinue certain items in the theatre that night. We watched an entire movie in what felt like 80 degrees. None of this was communicated ahead of our arrival. Then we were subjected to a limited menu which only included the following items: (cocktails, pretzels, wraps, the rice bowl and pizza). See how specific this is? So either you can apologize for the inconvenience, as a business owner and/or customer rep should do, and admit there was a problem with your AC OR get with your staff in Houston and ask them why they attributed the HOT conditions to a BROKEN AC and further attributed the limited menu to the BROKEN AC. Either way, iPic needs to get their business together and up to par. The iPic is boastful about being an upscale experience. If people want a limited menu they can go over to Edwards or AMC theatre. If they want to be HOT they can go sit outside at the Rooftop Cinema. Thanks Kels! read more

The price of the tickets was enough except they add a booking fee they charge! Then we are in seats that are ripped and the room was like a refrigerator! Two blankets still weren't enough. When reported to staff, we were told air conditioning was off, but there definitely was cold air blowing on us!! On top of this, charging $5 for a lukewarm small tea is outrageous!! I loved the concept and enjoyed the movie. Food is priced relatively fair for an upscale movie theater/ the river oaks area - but it is not great (for context, we ordered the pepperoni pizza, which I am convinced was just an $18 frozen pizza). I recommend eating elsewhere and coming here for a comfortable movie experience (all my stars go to the concept and experience, not the food). Pro tip: Make sure to book seats in the middle. The servers come through multiple times, and it can be distracting during a movie. Otherwise, the service throughout the theater was excellent, except for one gentleman bartender who was unnecessarily rude to me and my husband to the point where we almost left. Next time, we will order drinks in the theater to avoid that interaction. Other than these few hiccups, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the privacy of the experience. Just wanted to come on and shout out Dan , the Theater manager at the iPic in River Oaks. Last night my boyfriend and I went to watch Deadpool & Wolverine. We got there early so we could have a chance to order from the menu while the theater lights were still on . Dan, came very promptly to our section saying he was helping out his staff and would be able to help place our order . Not only was he super helpful , he was able to suggest things from the menu , he was knowledgeable and quick. His customer service was impeccable and I would give him at 10/10 every time ! Ipic completely ruined my birthday celebration. A low level staff member of Ipic by the name of Leanne called me in the middle of the movie and proceeded to cuss me out and also hang up on me regarding her misunderstand about an event. I spoke to her manager Michael Aguirre who also displayed a complete lack of professionalism and understanding of the situation. I explained to him that I've been going to Ipic for years and I take many employees and guests on a monthly basis for group retreats and he suggested I find a different theater. Usually when I read reviews like this I assume there's another side of the story and someone is simply exaggerating that this is not the case in this situation. I'd say my first experience at ipic was greatly underwhelming. I decided to go on Sunday February 13th to take advantage of a Valentine's special for two. I'll start with the pros I experienced. 1. We arrived after the preview had started so I was really frantic to make it in on time (I did). I was happy that the staff taking ticket reservations was friendly, informative, and quick. 2. I enjoyed the seating. I paid for deluxe seating because the occasion was a romantic date and I wanted an elevated experience and because the standard seating are the first two few rows in the very front of the theatre. I loved the privacy of the deluxe seating and felt it was spacious and comfortable. I do think it would be odd and less enjoyable for someone who wanted to watch a movie along or a group of 3+ people though. I feel like the seating is designed for couples or pairs. 3. The Valentine's Day special featured a chocolate cake which was delicious and I don't even like chocolate or cake. 4. The atmosphere and decor was nice. That was about it. I can't say that there weren't more pros but I just didn't experience it. Now onto the cons ... 1. It was extremely difficult to find parking. Not a fault of the movie theatre but something to consider if going at night and not familiar with the shopping center. 2. Ultimately I didn't feel like I got a luxurious movie experience. The Meatza pizza I ordered was charred and not good enough considering the price. The Valentine's Day special for two was one glass of champagne and one chocolate cake with one set of cutlery. I understand splitting the cake but were we expected to drink from the same glass and use the same fork? Granted a solo person should be able to enjoy a valentines day dessert but it was advertised on the website as a two person special. To be quite honest, it was the primary reason I chose ipic over other theaters or activities. 3. Once leaving the theatre, I noticed blankets on a shelf. I'm not sure if they were for movie goers but I would assume so. I was disappointed and wished our server would have offered the option to us but perhaps they're not being advertised due to COVID19. All in all, I don't think IPIC was worth the $80+ I spent (for two people including food). All I could think by the end was we should've just gone to AMC or Movie Tavern. I can't say I'm eager to return but I definitely haven't written it off as an option. It just won't be my first or second choice compared to watching movies at home or going to a standard theatre. read more

If I were to have written a review years ago when this place first opened I would tell you all that this was an elevated movie going experience. Something you would save for a special occasion or a lavish date. Sadly I will say that this place has gone downhill. I went for a late night showing so the shopping center was pretty dead. The bottom floor used to have a "box office" but it's been stripped and is empty and barren so the place looks abandoned. We got there a little early and waited in the tuck room. The service and care felt like we came to a local chain restaurant. We ordered a dessert that was bland and sad. (Do not get the cheesecake) After asking someone who was not our server to check us out we made our way to our seats. We opted for the luxe seating which was nice! My date enjoyed the seats but the service was "whatever" The menu in the theatre has more items and we ordered pretzels and nachos that I thought were fine but my date enjoyed. To end this experience I'd say you could get an adequate experience at any other movie theatre that offers dining options. iPic is no longer worth it. read more

I shall NOT be returning. We went to see the Bob Dillon movie. We did NOT make a reservation online beforehand but instead, we just walked into the theater, chose our seats and purchased our tickets. We were charged a Booking Fee for each of us and when I asked why, I was told it was their corporate policy which made no sense to me since we didn't book ahead or online.The theater was unbearably cold so we asked them to turn down the AC, but inspite of the blankets and our sweatshirts/jackets etc it remained frigid and uncomfortable. We ordered teas instead of cocktails but those were lukewarm. The manager later told us that he had turned off the AC but the heat was not working at the time. Too bad we were not made aware of this before going into the theater. Many seats were ripped and stuck together with black or other colours tape. We went to see Dylan movie. FIRST- we were charged a "booking fee" at the reception on TOP of the $25 movie charge. SECOND- many seats were RIPPED. But WORST was that the theater was FREEZING COLD! So, for our anniversary date night we decided to go to the IPIC Theatre in Houston. We've been a couple of times before and really enjoyed it but it's a little pricy, and far (about an hours drive), to go often. First thing we needed when we arrived was a visit to the bathrooms. My bathroom was clean, so no complaints there, and the communal washroom is pretty luxurious as far as cinemas go - see pic! Things have changed a little since last time we went however the seating 'pods' were the same, nice electric reclining chairs etc. However, last time we went we were given a blanket and pillow for additional comfort and popcorn was included in the ticket price. This time, no pillow, and popcorn was extra. The IPIC is one of those theaters where you order food and they bring it to your table so you can pig-out while watching the movie. Our server was polite and informed us that this was his first day, with that in mind I asked him to read back our order to confirm all was correct - which it was - and my wife asked for a blanket. Several minutes later he turned up with a glass of water for my wife but without my drink, and we had to ask again for the blanket. He fetched a blanket then went to get my drink. About 10 minutes later the food arrived but still no drink, so I mentioned it to the person who delivered the food who said she'd check on it. Nevertheless I had to call the server yet again for the drink, and by this time we'd both finished our food. I must admit the food was pretty good, tasty and well cooked. Unfortunately it is a little expensive and the portions are in the small side, but we knew this going in. Back to the drink - I had ordered ginger beer, not ginger ale, and when it finally arrived it looked like ginger ale so I asked the guy who brought it if it was beer not ale, and he said it was indeed ginger beer - at last!!! I then discovered that indeed it was ginger ale - not happy! To sum it up - the theatre seats 'pods' are comfy and clean and the bathrooms are great. The food was good but a little expensive and not much of it. The tickets are on the expensive side at $20 per person, especially when you consider Cinemark is only about $13 and they too have electric recliners. The service however was poor, and I'm not just blaming the new guy, other servers were also to blame. We felt a little let down by the experience and doubt we will be returning for a very long time, if at all. In future we'll stick with Cinemark, then go for a meal after! read more

Definitely don't recommend the restaurant we've been seated here for 30 mins no one has acknowledged us at all. Total of 6 waiters just standing around. I was annoyed cuz their is some items on the menu in the restaurant I wanted to try that weren't on the menu for the theater. The movie experience was totally different we enjoyed it the food like the appetizers comes in huge portions so unless you eat a lot for 2 people it's a lot. I had the steak skewers which were ok they needed some seasoning but the asparagus was actually seasoned and they were cooked really well and didn't come out soggy. First time here - I have heard pretty good reviews. We came in on a weekday evening so it wasn't crowded. Parking was easy - free garage and it's steps away from the theatre. As soon as you walk in it's dimly lit and feels very upscale. We did the premium seats so we could get the cute little pods. It comes with a blanket and recliner seats. I'll be honest, the seats seemed a little..old? They were so squeaky - and made a loud obnoxious noise when reclining. I still liked the pods, you don't really notice all the other people around you. Bathrooms look nice when you enter. I did notice a lot of sinks and toilets were out of order. Upon arrival - they didn't provide a menu, so we just looked it up online. The food was really good! Portions were very generous - it's a little pricey, but it was expected. Overall the experience was enjoyable!! It's definitely a great date night spot read more

I don't go to movies anymore because the theaters are horrible. Decided to try this place and we were pretty happy. Tickets aren't cheap ($11 kids and $22 for adults). And on top of it they charge $2.17 per person for booking online which sucks. I only saw premium plus tickets offered. I walked by a couple of auditoriums and didn't see any with the regular seats upfront. Maybe they got rid of all those. FYI I wouldn't book the first couple of premium plus rows because they seemed awfully close to the screen. The theatre was frigid. Which was fine since we all got blankets. Loved that. Since we were 3 people I had to share a pod with someone. It's mostly upscale clientele so they were respectable and all and didn't act like hooligans. Parking in the garage is free for now. Just take a ticket and when you leave the door will open automatically as the ticket scanners on the exit aren't operational yet (although they're in place at the exits). The staff said once operational it'll be paid parking in the garage which I think is the only parking option. But there's plenty of spaces in the garage. Just not free anymore soon I guess. The bathroom was very nice. Co-ed hand wash area was nicely decorated. Staff was really nice too. Free (regular) water available with food orders. And Free refills on large popcorn only. The Tuck Room food is the same as the theatre room food I'm told. Lemon pepper wings were pretty darn tasty. Same with the fried calamari. Shirley temple was a really nice change for the kiddo to regular sodas that we usually get for her with popcorn. Check your email on the day of your screening because I got a nice discount via email on food order the day of our screening. Silver membership is free. But make sure you sign up before you buy your tickets as I couldn't find a way to add them to my account later to get points. read more

IPIC is an outstanding theater. I mean I could just stop right there. So this theater draw is kinda like dinner and a movie, IN the theater. The drinks I've had are actually good. the servicers are called Ninjas. And the food is actually good. I recommend joining the rewards program the theater has and enjoying the perks of that. The theater offers you blankets, and yes. It's CHILLY. I've been in a few of the theaters and they are not large and they are not small. The draw is the couple couch type seats. Like it's definitely a date night theater. I like coming early so that I can get my shopping in first and then watch the movie. I honestly am not a fan of regular movie theaters. Crap food, it's always cold, the seats are uncomfortable and u need to go get up from the movie to grab food or whatever. At IPIC the food is great, they have a wide selection of food and booze, a server for all your needs, they give you blankets if you are cold which is my favorite part and they sit you in your own private pod. They used to give out free popcorn with a purchase of tickets which i miss. So that's a bummer but i would still rather go there then anywhere else to watch a movie. The overall concept of this theatre is great: premium plus seating comes with a two-seater pod that feels like you are in first class on an airplane. It includes reclining seats, a pillow, a plush blanket, and popcorn is included. If you are in premium plus, you will have a server to bring you food and drinks as needed, similar to Alamo Drafthouse. Overall a very fun and elite feeling. Do not make the mistake of getting the regular premium seats. It would be better to go to a regular theater. These seats are about 2-3 rows that are positioned right at the base of the screen, do not recline (despite the fact that you need to look up), and have a small swivel desk component for your movie snacks. You also will not receive service in this section - you will need to go in and out of the theater to get your own food items. While the bathroom is very pretty and modern with a central, communal hand wash area shared by men and women, the hygiene situation tonight was pretty horrendous. I went to the restroom both before and after my movie. Prior to, every stall had paper and seat covers all over the ground, overflowing and busted open trash cans, and generally did not look like it had been kept up in a long time. After the movie it had gotten worse, with no remaining toilet paper in 5 of the 6(?) stalls. read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND WASTING YOUR MONEY AND BE TREATED A CERTAIN WAY: I used to go here when it first opened, and the experience was great. Unfortunately today, the customer service and hospitality was extremely unwelcoming due to the fact that I had a little food item with me that came from somewhere else. It was just a tiny macaron in a container. The lady who sold tickets and a manager were up front and informed rules and regulations about not bringing food into their theatre. We totally get it. We understand that part. However, although We spent over $50 for our tickets, we didn't like how we were treated by their communication and delivery of the information. So we decided a refund. Although they were being professional, it was very insensitive, condescending, and even the manager shrugged his shoulder with the gesture of "oh well". We could've gone somewhere else such as AMC with recliners, spent way less, have better respectful and kind service instead. It is not ok to treat others like that, and wished it could've been handled differently with more kindness to it. I wouldn't go back after that. This place has gone downhill! Waitstaff used to be very attentive. We had to flag down a waitress (as did the people in front of us) after waiting 30 minutes after pressing our button. At first I figured it was broken but right after we flagged down the waitress someone came over to check on us bc our button was pushed. Also, they don't do free popcorn anymore. That made the $20 tickets worth it. Now it's just a regular crappy theater that happens to give you a pod, I'll save my money and forgo the pod since all the other theaters have reclining seats these days anyways. They also haven't kept up with this place. Broken doors in the bathroom, chairs are creaky and run down. Y'all need to revamp. read more

I'm sure you all have experienced cold theaters. Most even expect it and bring a light jacket, or a hoodie to stay warm. I like that from a theatre. Especially if you're on a date. Your date would want to cuddle up with you for warmth. Unfortunately, this was not the case for IPIC. It was hot inside the movie theatre. I brought a date. Wow. I'm not sure if I'll ever go back to a normal movie theater, our movie experience was that amazing. We started off our movie experience by going to the happy hour at the restaurant and got some Brussels sprouts, fries, and some cocktails! All of the dishes were fairly large portions and were amazing! Then we went to the movie theater and my girlfriend and I went to our little 2 seat pod, which had a blanket and chairs that could recline. The chairs and blanket were super cozy as we watched Thor love and thunder! We also ordered some more drinks and dinner! The food came fairly quickly and was very good too! Overall, the experience was outstanding. The movie theater and restaurant were nice and clean. The movie tickets were slightly more expensive than for a standard theater, but you can have a little pod with your friend or Significant other with a more comfy and spacious chair. Overall for our movie night with some happy hour dishes, drinks, movie tickets, then dinner and some more drinks it was around $100. We definitely ordered probably more than needed but if you're just going for the movie it would be closer to $35-40 total for just two tickets! I loved it and would highly recommend trying out i pic!
