We parked here only because it is across the street from our hotel. The garage does seem to be well lit, and is staffed overnight from Thursday thru Sunday. We parked around 1:00 p.m. Thursday, and didn't depart until Friday until around 10:00 a.m.; total was $20, which I thought was fair. Only issue was with the elevators.

Valet for $38 a day was way too much and street parking would have required a lot of quarters, so parking garage it was. I parked in the Whitaker Street Parking Garage across from the Hyatt on the Sunday and Monday night we stayed there. Sunday parking was free in and out and because I got up early enough on Monday morning I was able to get out free and come back and only have to pay $16 for overnight parking on Monday. So I saved quite a bit of change and time parking in the parking garage rather than using the hotel valet and street parking. The parking garage is convenient for those staying or visiting the River Street area. My only complaint was since it is underground more lighting would be nice; it was just dark enough to not feel completely safe.

You have more money to eat or drink with now ;) We parked here due to the proximity to the Jepson Center and the Telfair Academy. Robinson PG is one of 5 parking garages (the others are Liberty, Whitaker, Bryan, State St) owned by the City of Savannah (they also have some lots has well). It's actually cheaper to park in one of these 5 garages than the metered parking on the street during the weekday daytime hours (depending on what metered zone you're comparing it to). Liberty seems to be the cheaper one and Whitaker the pricier one (and I'm using that term loosely here), but the other 3 all have the same fees (don't quote me on it all, check the website but roughly $1/hr during the weekday day, $2 flat rate in the weekday evening, $5 flat rate on the weekends (check Liberty and Whitaker separately). It has about 5 levels, equipped with both elevators and stairwells. There are limited Cashier hours, so make sure you have your cards if you are coming out at wee hours of the morning. Bottom line is, unless you happen to find a spot on the street right in front of your final destination, any of the City's parking garage is cheap, secured (hopefully...they say all the City's garages have dedicated police patrols and security cameras), no circling around and around navigating the one way streets and you don't have to keep feeding the meter. I'll pay that $5 any day for the convenience and ease of mind!

Now some of the spots had signs saying compact cars and head in parking only. This space had no such sign. So why do parking enforcement staff even patrol a city owned parking lot and why is it illegal to back in ??? Love visiting Savannah but this was a very stupid and sour experience.....

Not quite smooth and with no shade, the spaces are close together. I managed to maneuver the Sprinter van into a spot and folded in the mirrors. Payment is at a kiosk and it worked fine to take my money. It printed the receipt which I put on my dashboard. The mix of old brick buildings and lively atmosphere makes it feel unique compared to a lot of other places. The vibe really stands out. It is busy but in a fun way, not overwhelming. You see families, couples, and groups all enjoying the area, and it just has that welcoming energy. Whether you are there during the day or at night, it feels like there is always something to see. Overall this is a must visit if you are in Savannah. Great views, great atmosphere, and a lot to explore packed into one area. Definitely one of the highlights of the trip.

Forsyth Park is a great open public space and offers so much!…read more There are basketball and tennis courts, a splash fountain, a wonderful enclosed playground, fields, ample amount of sidewalks, Fragrance Garden, and of course the beautiful fountain. You can often find people sunbathing on the lawns, playing frisbee or volleyball, taking a stroll, running through the park, or just simply sitting on one of the many benches enjoying the scenery. Most Saturdays you can find local vendors selling items or the Forsyth Farmers Market. A great place to source locally grown food such as veggies, meats, honey, mushrooms, pasta, breads, and so much more. There is a restaurant at the center, Collins Quarter. They have great patio seating and a great brunch spot. I would recommend getting a reservation. Other great spots are within walking distance such as The Sentient Bean for a coffee.
