As any average person might be on a Thursday afternoon, I was in need of some Vet Wrap (for those of you not in the animal world know how... this is a neat bandage that sticks to itself, and not to anything else - great for wrapping injuries on horses, or in my case, strapping pedometers onto goats - but I digress... ;)
So.... I headed into Hanover, as Google maps assured me I would find a tack shop there. Google was mistaken. But a nice lady at Mark's Work Warehouse suggested I head into Chelsey... "just one right and a left out of Hanover and you're there", she said.
And off I went. It did take me a trip into and out of the actual town of Chelsey, and a stop at an automotive place, but I eventually found Ionson's Saddlery. Admittedly, there is a big sign, but not near the road itself... so unless you turn your head and stare for a while (because who really needs to look at the road right?) you might miss it.
Anyway... the two guys working there were great. Very eagerly showed me to where I'd find the Vet Wrap, and then happily chatted with me about the area, my work with goats, and even showed me pictures of the locals. Then they called after me "see you soon!". It was a very pleasant experience.
So if you happen to be in this area (for the few of you that might) and are looking for a horse-related store... definitely try these guys. read more
